Harper's foreign and social policy vs. fiscal
Ricki Bobbi replied to BC_chick's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
You are picking a fight sir. Do explain why I am obnoxious? You provide no support for your claims and resort to personal insults when pushed. I tried to be reasonable with you. You followed me around attacking me for over 20 posts one day to prove a point. The only point you proved is your intellectual weakness and how you are the true coward. -

Hey Figleaf, why don't you try being honest in your debating? Would you like me like to the repeated times you have tried to pick a fight with me on this board? -

Freedom of religion is guaranteed under the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms. If you consider people of faith following their religious beliefs to be bigotted then so be it. Please don't speak about rationality. You clearly despise Stephen Harper and won't give him credit for anything. PS. Why is Israel's right to self-defence irrelevant? For somebody claiming to be a defender of rationality that's a pretty irrational and petulant dismissal of a very serious right of nations. -

It's in the thread if this quote exists. I didn't tell you what you could or couldn't be concerned with. That's the problem with generalizing about people as a group. It can lead to a tendency to blame them for things they didn't do. So you were "set off" but still take "Conservatives and Islamists" to task for being angry? tsk tsk tsk -

There's no evidence, or claim, of any sort of a handout here. Falsehoods, deception and disinformation. tsk tsk tsk -

I guess you believe your tone isn't angry in this post either? A double-standard is a wonderful thing. Please point to a specific example of my personal tactics you are speaking out against. Not me as a "conservative", but my actual posts. -

Are you actually saying that we are better off without any biofuels? Do provide some evidence if that is what you are saying, please. -
Stéphane Dion = Jean Chrétien?
Ricki Bobbi replied to August1991's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Who is the we to which you refer? If you mean we, as in the majority of Canadians who think Prime Minister Harper is doing a good job, then you are correct sir. We Conservatives are happy to have been handed the gift that is Stephane Dion. -

Partial response. As a sovereign nation Israel has an inherent right to defend themselves. The so-called "illegal occupation of Palestinian lands" is not universally considered so. Do explain the bigotry? It was bigoted to put a vote to Parliament? The majority of Canadians opposed SSM at the time it was passed. As much as pundits *claim* SSM is a right guaranteed under the Charter the Supreme Court, the one's with the actual power in this case, pointedly deferred from ruling on the isse. So please explain your cry of bigotry. -

Why are the Conservatives Killing the Wheat Board?
Ricki Bobbi replied to jdobbin's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Dauphin-Swan River is far enough from the border that it is in the best interest of farmers to support the CWB. Here is the deal with the whole CWB issue. Farmer's who live close enough to the border to drive the wheat down themselves and sell to American customers can make far, far more money than the price the CWB gives them. So they are essentially subsidizing farmers that live in more northern parts of the grain belt. This is an ideological stand without question. Should farmers have to sell their products at below market price with no benefit to themselves? Why? -

Those farmers who support the Conservatives are the reason why the party has taken the stand that they have on the CWB. -

Guess some people make assumptions of behaviour. For all of us who can read everybody's posts we see who the truly narrow minded really are. -

What is wrong with supporting Israel? Intolerance of gays? He held a free-vote in Parliament on re-opening SSM because he made a promise on the issue during the election. The vote failed. He has said the issue is closed and his Government will not re-open it. Was that really intolerant? Attack on environmentalists is going a little far. Harper's Government has to work on the environment file. A new environmental plan and minister will be forthcoming in the new year. As to where people who support him live? Hmmm, look at one of the 124 ridings the Conservatives won in the last election for a start. -
Specific examples of socially regressive acts as PM? I know you *believe* he is socially regressive, but that's because you have listened to the lefties out there. After keeping an election promise and losing the vote on SSM he has said the issue is finished and he won't try and address it again. That's right wing? Do tell which part is unreasonable. You still need a Firearms Acquisition Certificate to get a gun. Eliminating the wasteful and mismanaged long gun registry does not mean he doesn't support gun control. As of the 2001 Census over 70% of Canadians identified themselves as Christians. Is Canada reecognizing the religion of the vast majority of Canadians really "right wing". Well at least you aren't 100% wrong. But we'll have to wait and see what Jim Prentice can come up with as Minister of the Environment. Try and come back with some actual facts.

Brian Mulroney 1984 to 1993. Slashed the bureaucracy. Privatized 23 Crown corporations. Eliminated the Manufacturers' Sales Tax in favour of the GST. Brought in the Free Trade Agreement and NAFTA. All are far more conservative than anything Harper has done or proposed to do...

Hasn't announced one? Sounds like you are ignoring the facts to attack the PM ... yet again. Falun Gong practitioners seem to support the Prime Minister's support for human rights. Link If you are going to continue to spew your vile for anything the PM does at least have some element of truth in your attack. -
Harper rejects key Gomery proposals
Ricki Bobbi replied to jdobbin's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Your last post is absolutely and completely misleading. The original story states that Prime Minister Harper But not all of the recommendations you included in your post are related to the role of the Clerk of the Privy Council. Any explanation for this deception? -

Ricki Bobbi replied to jdobbin's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
No, the downfall of the last Liberal government was ficititious work, never performed, which lead to $1.14 Million being paid to Liberal party supporters and/or operatives with no benefit to the Canadian taxpayers. Questions about the power of the PMO never lead to the downfall of a government. Abuse of the power of the PMO has. That is a huge difference.... -
So it is Orwellian to stand behind the military? Of course the military would be out of harm's way if it never entered combat zones. But the vast majority of our missions throughout history have been in combat zones, even those the left agree with and falsely call "peacekeeping". Why have a military if they are never to engage in combat?

Pure as the Driven Snow... Yellow Snow that is.
Ricki Bobbi replied to hiti's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
This represents the biggest problem with the Liberals. They have spent ZERO time representing us. Their only claim now is that the Conservatives aren't "pure as the driven snow". Doesn't matter if they are 99 times more honest than the Liberals. Why aren't they 100%? -

You could have admitted your mistake. But you brush it off and then launch into yet another attack on yet another Government programme. Hmmm, let me guess which party you don't like.
