That's an interesting take on things. The NDP haven't accomplished anything. So they should keep on doing nothing? Maybe if they work with the Conservatives they can squeeze out the Liberals.

What a typical Liberal response. We aren't bad. Look at what the Conservatives have done.... Nice try. -
That's how we won last January.

The next election will be very interesting. Bernard Lord finishes his time as an MLA in a few weeks... Does he run in Moncton-Riverview-Dieppe? It's a pretty strongly Liberal riding, but it has gone PC in the past... -
Important Issues to Canadians

I could care less if they appointed Tories to do the job as long as they can do it. One year is too long for appointments for a party that is supposed to in defence of law and order. The cops are saying that, the judiciary and lawyers themselves. Bullsh*t you couldn't care less if they appointed Tories. They haven't even been in power for 11 months yet. The appointments will be taken care of... -

Uhh, but here is the rub. And a valid response to the "I know you are but what am I" response to the Liberals moral corruption. Justice Gomery proved Liberal party operatives stole $1.14 Million of taxpayer money. Any proof for the claims of Conservative moral corruption??? -
Riverwind, Geoffrey. Thank you. Despite the divergence you have taken the opportunity to respond to the OPs quest for real debate. Unfortunately, Figleaf is just here to try and prove some random, difficult to understand, point. He doesn't really understand the tax code and/or finance. So in an attempt to prove his point by asking the same question over and over he is just making himself look bad and exposing his ignorance repeatedly.

You say that about MD00 but you say the following below. If MD00 truly represents Conservative *mainstream* thinking why is the CPC so ideologically similar to the Liberals? -

All very good questions. If Adscam ends up becoming big news again will Dion go on TV pleading for time until the next election? You could see one in the fall of 2008. The Conservatives look likely to hang on until the fall of this year at least. *When* we win a majority Dion will pay lip service to hanging on as leader ... than in the spring of 2008 he'll resign for *personal reasons*. Gerard Kennedy takes over and things get very interesting. The following election could see new leaders for all four parties. -
OK. Same little reindeer game. For the sake of the other posters on the board this is the last time I'll reply to you. You will get the last word and feel like a big man.

I thought Greg already spoke to you about your stalking me...

F*ckin' Tony Romo. Picking the Cowboys was my one upset for the weekend. That wasn't really a shoestring tackle at the end....

Are you still upset about being made to look like a fool over "destruction of wealth"? I'm the precious one? To other posters on the board, I apologize for Figleaf's man-crush/hate-on for me. I'd take it to PMs but Mr. Precious won't allow anyone to PM him.

Anyone who receives a T4. Any employment income. To *qualify* for the full $1,000 you have to make $1,000 in a year. That was the original description. I corrected my error. You are just being contrary and baiting. What gives? And I have decided to quit responding to your childish questions. Your trolling should end. It has been reported to Greg. If you come up with an intelligent question that is aimed at furthering debate I'll reply. If you reply just to troll I'll ignore you. So I guess I have decided that your probing has ended.

How is a cut which helps the poorest Canadian keep a higher percentage of their income than any other group for the wealthy? Your outright lying and fabrication appears pretty *Liberal* to me. Already stated. The former was a mistake that will be corrected soon. The latter, well it was in the best interest of the country.

Grow up. People who are employed. Yes. Please refer to post #140 of this thread. It is a credit. I have previously answered all of your questions from your most recent post. So it looks like your probing should be finished. Unless you need to swear a little more.

Liberal Khan to cross floor to Tory backbench

MikeDavid is far from representative of most Conservatives. How are these people actively participating? I don't own a vehicle by choice. l could afford one, but I'm much happier living walking distance to my office, using cabs or renting a car when I really need one and saving the money for other things (like a down payment on a condo in this crazy city). -
With what other party's support may I ask? Won't know until the deal is announced. Not yet. But they are working on it. The GST cut wasn't *Liberal* policy-wise. The choice in childcare program wasn't *Liberal* policy-wise. The justice reforms aren't *Liberal* policy-wise. The accountability act isn't *Liberal* policy-wise. The myriad of other tax measures aren't *Liberal* policy-wise..... Go to an AGM. Volunteer on your board of directors (even Harper's riding needs volunteers). You would be amazed how quickly somebody who is willing to actually do some work can become involved in various committes. That is if you are actually willing to do some work.

That $120 million was the figure quoted was the estimate in 1970. I don't know that much about stadium construction costs but I looked at it a few ways. Texas Stadium, home of the Dallas Cowboys was built in 1971 at a cost of $35 million US. ($40 Million CAD at the upper range of the exchange rates in 1970 and 1971.) I punched 120 million 1970 dollars into the Bank Of Canada Inflation calculator. (Here's the link.) According to the Bank of Canada $120 million dollars in 1970 would be worth $641 million in 2006. The recently opened University of Phoenix stadium in Glendale Arizona. Cost $455 Million USD ($534 Million CAD using Friday's Bank of Canada rate). So how was that $120 million estimate a lowball figure?

It would be physically impossible for a Government to do things 100% differently from its predecessor, by definition. So try and make some sense in your posts... -
It's the employment tax credit. I felt it was evident that it was given to people who were employed ... but maybe not. You still haven't done anything to disprove that for the 2006 tax year people who were employed and in the lowest tax bracket were better of under the Conservatives than they would have been under the Liberals.

CPC have three point lead in latest Decima poll.

Because the definition of margin of error you posted supports my premise perfectly. The poll in the OP is dated January 3rd. How is that *about* the same timeframe? -
Important Issues to Canadians

That's a far cry from reality. Cardigan in PEI had 27,411 electors last January. Nunavut had 17,088 electors last January. Trinity Spadina in Toronto had 74,409 electors last January. Edmonton Centre had 89,197 electors last January. Real democratic reform would deal with these differences...
