  1. Why are you bringing race into this?
  2. Pedantic hairsplitting. What does that mean? I just didn't understand that part at all. Seriously, explain how that would be offensive to women. I didn't see the humour in it and I dont' see why I really don't get it. Stereotypes build up over years through constant use of the same cliched approach to a certain group. Is this dour muslim thing really a stereotype? I've only mainly been dealing with you, so I can't comment on others really. You'd think somebody as fair and open-minded as yourself would take the time to read the entire thread. Do explain those attacks to me. I was being serious when I said I didn't understand the thing with the hockey boards at all. Are women and men in traditional Mosques separated by some sort of physical barrier?
  3. I like that word. Do I have permission to use it? Uhhh, it's got more to do with the Left's ongoing attack on people with conservative values and beliefs and our funding of that attack through tax dollars. If you believe nothing, else believe me that Little Temple on the Prairie using exactly the same *jokes* to belittle and put down the ignorant white hicks would be just as offensive.
  4. Do you honestly think those of us posting objections to this show have a profound bias towards Sikhism over Islam?
  5. I have already answered you so here it is. You have a point with the Despereate Housewives thing. But that is the one and only example you can find. *Known for their sense of humour.* Is that really attacking a stereotype. If you really want to nitpick try cutting down on the typo's and spelling errors. IYO anyone here who hasn't been pro-LMoTP been credible? If not, maybe, just maybe because they can't be in your eyes...
  6. Do point out the stereotypes of Muslim's being poked fun at. Is it the most disgusting stereotypes of Muslims? Links to terrorism and the like or is it more benign stereotypes being poked fun at. I can't think of any more disgusting sterotypes of white prairie folk than racists and sexists....
  7. There's your favourite phrase again. Is that supposed to intimidate people? Are you not also posting behind the anonymity of your computer screen? Stephen Taylor wasn't. Nice selective cut and paste on my post. Meet the new boss, he's the same as the old boss. Scott Brison crossed to become a Parliamentary Secretary. Belinda crossed to become a Cabinet Minister. Wajid Khan crossed to sit in the backbenches. A signficant difference. We agree on that one at least. Although I think Dion's push was more of the "you can't quit you are fired" variety...
  8. It's clips *and* characterizations from the show's web site. As someone who is clearly more intelligent than me, restate those valid points clearly and simply.
  9. I have said that Paul Martin was a very good finance minister. Not searching through the archives for it though...
  10. And when they do watch how quickly the CBC hacks here jump on you rather than dealing with your legitimate criticism.
  11. I do find it offensive, but that has never been the main crux of my argument. If it were on a private broadcaster I just wouldn't watch it and would feel that I have no say in whether or not it was broadcast. If you feel better picking out that slight difference power to you. Bottom line. Don't make me pay a little more than $300 a year in taxes to fund this crap. If my apparent contradiction makes you feel somewhat better that's great.
  12. Of course it matters where the funding for this tripe comes from. In this case my tax dollars are being used to fund this crap. I object to my tax dollars being spent in this manner. If it's private money being used what say should I have in the matter?
  13. Of course you will pre-judge him in his role. Long before he brings a plan to the table? Wtf He's going to play a musical instrument?
  14. Well, no, it hasn't: You had to go back to post #2 on a thread with more than 200 posts to find that. OK, for all but the first two posts of a thread with 200 posts in it the issue has been the use of a massive subsidy to push a political agenda. Do you feel better picking on that now? Never said I had an issue with stereotype-based humour. My issue is with a billion dollar a year subsidy to pay for it. If it were privately-funded I wouldn't give a rat's arse about this issue.
  15. It takes one to know one! Seriously though, I think Harper made a very big point by not giving Khan a Ministerial or Parliamentary Secretary posting. Although if he can win in Mississauga as a Conservative he'll deserve one after the next election.
  16. Please do explain the difference. Which libertarians are bigots and which are not? Why? Is political correctness a good thing only when used to advance left-wing causes?
  17. The complaint has always been about the use of a massive annual subsidy to push an agenda. LMotP is simply another example of the misuse of that subsidy.
  18. Not so premature to have thoughts about it, given it did happen nine hours after your post...
  19. Cool! i got the scoop! I do hope a by election will be immediately forthcoming if this turns out to happen, which I have no doubt will. Alas Shakey the difference is Stephen Taylor identifies himself. While you launch your attacks safely behind the anonymity of your computer screen. Please get stuff that is even somewhat humourous. Seems like Harper is making this move as a prelude to the deal on the environment with the NDP. The way things stand the Conservatives and the NDP together have a majority of one in the House of Commons. By adding Khan they have a majority of two. The Conservatives saw what happened when one MP got picked off (cough cough Belinda) in such tight circumstances. Now two Dippers would have to change parties *at the same time* to stop a CPC-NDP coalition on the envronment.
  20. There were *four* silly little generalizations before the show has been aired. It attacks four things the CBC doesn't like. 1. People who don't believe in their left-wing ideology. 2. Christians 3. Canadians from the Prairies. 4. People who are not of colour. If there were attacks on the opposite in each case people would be up in arms.
  21. Sure, it's not a shining example of managment. That was never the issue. Leadership? Hmmm, the philanthropic goals of MADD are beyond reproach. Except for Conservative-hating hacks!
  22. It's there. Read into it what you will. Not going to engage you again, so we'll play the same old game. I'll start ignoring you again. You'll get the last word again and feel like a big man. Same old when you start with the stalking tomorrow. Have a good night.
  23. It all started with the attack on Marjorie Lebreton and only *Tory hacks* could have respect for her. then when Isaid she was the chair of the board of MADD the attacks on MADD started...
  24. Take it up with Figleaf...
