Should the Liberals respond to the attack ads?

Apparently he lives in a bubble that is not subject to his own perception of what's right and wrong for others. -
Should the Liberals respond to the attack ads?

It was ignorant, arrogant and childish. Unbecoming of a candidate for Prime Minister of Canada... Childish? You mean like making fun of the name of a guys dog.... -
Should the Liberals respond to the attack ads?

It is true though, Harper could use some strength training. Oh well. Neither party is any different that is becoming glaringly apparent. Maybe the "fattie" comment is why the CPC was picking on Dion's dog? -
Whill not a suicide bomber Timothy McVeigh deserves a mention here.

I agree. Totally rediculous for parents to allow their child to die because they are "forbidden" to accept a treatment due to their religion.

Should the Liberals respond to the attack ads?
Who's Doing What? replied to hiti's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Here we go..... Too bad. So much for the Liberals taking the high road. I think they lost those directions a few decades ago anyway. Although truth be told, Harper does have a bit of a belly. Actually the photo on the website beside the article is about the worst one of him I have seen. Dropping 20lbs would sure make him look better in photo ops. -
Separation of state and culture

What do you know. According to "My assistant" I have posted 49 times today. Am I a poster nutbar? Most were likely between 12:00 am and 4:00am which to me is yesterday but whatever. My average is barely over 3, so pppfffffftttttt. -
With rhetoric like that he is likely already under observation.

Should the Liberals respond to the attack ads?

I think the Liberals are still trying to clean off the mud from their last ad campaign. -
That is what I am wondering. If Layton were to be given the Environment post what NDP priorities would he sacrifice and for how long? What issues would be non-starters, and what would be the first to be sacrificed? This would be a very interesting venture.

Tories to Run Negative TV Ad Campaign
Who's Doing What? replied to jdobbin's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Totally based on the complete lack of content. To say "Real Canadians" or people who arent' "blind partisans" will give him "a pass" is complete hogwash. Not only did non-partisans, as well as partisans lose money but some conservatives lost money on this decision aswell, and they should all be holding him accountable, regardless of political affiliation. Then to insinuate that someone is not a "real Canadian" for gettting upset that their govt reversed their pre-election stance and made a decision that ended up costing them a lot of money, is beyond contemptable. -
Should the Liberals respond to the attack ads?

It is true that there is an abundance of ammunition, should the Liberals choose to use it, but I think after the fiasco caused by their last group of attack ads they should leave well enough alone. If anything do like the first line of your post and put out some positive ads telling Canadians about Dion. -

Hogwash. -
Here's one. He was inclusive and made places for all his leadership rivals in his team. I have never claimed to be non-partisan and chastised others for being *blindly partisan* at the same time. Care to explain why you singled me out? Quid pro quo... Do you really have to ask?
-
That would be interesting. I wonder how much of the NDP agenda would be given up so that Layton could stay on as Environment minister?
-
I would think it would be conservatives who would be disgusted by Harper following anything Chretien, but whatever....

Legalising and Regulating Prostitution
Who's Doing What? replied to BC_chick's topic in Moral & Ethical Issues
That is not reasonable. How could anybody trust that "their identity will be kept confidential" by this institution? I would not. If you don't trust it don't go. What's the big deal? -
Gotta love how Harper makes fun of Dion's dog. Now I understand where the CPCers around here get it from. Their party leader teaches them to ignore the message & attack the messenger. Or his dog. Or kids. Or education. Or anything to deflect focus away from the facts. Oh come now we're not all that bad True not all are are that bad. Ok I admit it not all CPCers ignore the message to attack the messenger. Would you be willing to admit not all Liberals are Corrupt.
-
You want to accuse me of it.... prove it . But you can't, because I'm not. But thanks for proving my point that CPCers attack the messenger not the message.

Legalising and Regulating Prostitution
Who's Doing What? replied to BC_chick's topic in Moral & Ethical Issues
Harsher penalties. Thats is all. Maybe mandatory jail and rehab. I say rehab because really, if you are a clean prostitute why would not want to work in a safe environment? I doubt this is going to be 100% effective as nothing truly is. But if it is even 70-80% successful and 7-8 out of every 10 Prostitutes can be saved from pimps, the Pickton's of the world and getting hooked on drugs then it would be a great service to the community. Really I don't think drug testing should go beyond things like Crystal Meth, Coccaine, Opiates, or other very dangerous and addictive drugs. As for the johns if they know their identity will be kept confidential unless a prostitute is assaulted they should have no problem with going to a designated area. If they do have a problem with it, then they are possibly the type of people we want to protect these girls from anyway. -
First off thanks, without PKGs from home this tour would have been alot harder. but if i could offer some advice. We have recieved so many pkgs it is unbelieveable, thousands of them so many in fact that for awhile we we not recieving any mail from home, entire planes have been used just to get pkgs through. Do not send any pkgs marked "for any soldier" they no longer send them, and are normally returned, just to many of them...it's not that we don't want them there just to many of them... Best thing to do if you know somebody over there is to address it to them, if you don't know anyone then go to DND web site and e-mail a soldier and get his info, you'll need his service number, and his unit and the address... PKG normally take over a month to recieve so no baked goodies or anything that will spoil, next they say no liquids, but if you wrap them extremily well they'll get thru...keep in mind the mail is handled by army guys, so it needs to be packed and taped very well, "postal clerks we will never be" Things that might be needed, hard candy, Maginzines or books any type "no porno", flea collars"fleas are bad here we put them on the legs of our cots i keep one in my ruck", floor hockey equipment, such as hockey sticks, orange balls, eye wear, other than that we normally can get everything hear. Floor hockey is big here and we play every chance we get... Things not to send that have been sent: rifles and pistols: "people are sending over old rifles and pistols" AMMO: knives or swords, Money ...please do not send cash, cheques, anything like that... liquor ....yes we like it, but can;t drink it, don't need the temptation... Sex toys...i had a private trying to explain to me how he got a dildo in the mail...it was addressed to any female soldier he opened by mistake....lets just say he carefully reads the address now.. tools.... instructions for making explosives at home....Sorry got all that i need.. Cookies and cakes...all gone bad...i mean very bad.... Pies...same as above Anyway you get the idea if you can think of it someone has sent it.... I got a good laugh out of some of that stuff people have tried to send. I'm glad I asked 'cause Flea collars is something I never would have thought of. For the eye-wear would ski goggles be what you would want?

IMO He has also broken the promise that he was actually ethically different from the Liberals. -
Good advice for Stéphane Dion.

Seriously you need to lose this "Liberal media" paranoia. Are CanWest and CTV "Liberal Media"? CanWest is a company that has bravely separated itself from the Liberal establishment...the National Post, for example, is a fair and balance counterbalance to the elite Liberal media (a la CBC, Toronto Star, etc.) If you are going to only cite the CBC and Toronto Star as evidence of a Liberally bias MSM your argument is lacking. -
