Who's Doing What?

Whenever we have another election it will be too soon. Three elections within 4 years is rediculous, and a waste of money. But it looks like Harper and the CPC are ready to go tomorrow if need be. Probably by the fall Harper will have forced an election, depending on how much his numbers improve.

Everyone I have ever met with a status card who lived off reserved paid no taxes. So Ontario is the lucky ones to get our pockets picked by the FN's casinos. How nice. There is no equality when it comes to FN's and the ROC. Open your eyes.

I pay my taxes. If you need money the welfare system is there for you. Please enlighten me to all these Govt. and "whitey" owned casinos, and don't say Vegas, Reno or Atlantic City. I'll make sure to tell everyone I know to only go to them. They are not equal. They are treated specially and given rights other Canadians don't have.

And why should "whitey" tax payers be footing the bill for Poor reserves, when FN's are raking in millions in profits from casinos? Why not spread the wealth? Warriors are willing to travel the country for a good fight to get some disputed land back. So why not send some money to the poor FN's who aren't lucky enough to live close to the border so they can smuggle smokes and booze, or close enough to a large population so they can rob them blind with their casinos. That FN's, or SOME FN's used to hold good lying in high regard is not a lie. Perhaps you need to do some research. Xenophobia eh? You have no clue what so ever. How is it xenophobic to want these people to be equal with the rest of Canadians? Is pointing out the fact that they are given special rights and status xenophobic? Seems like simple observation to me. No they were a bunch of peacefull, well educated, earth loving people who never waged war, or killed one another. FN's were just as savage as anyone else. Or do you forget that alot of North Americans to some degree come from people once called Barbarians.

YA one person in the federal govt.. stole or mis-used all the money meant for the entire country. When you have leaders who are basically running a mafia as band leadership you have problems. If these remote reserves are recieving a portion of the millions that is generated by the casinos why is sthere such abject poverty. Maybe they should stock up on food instead of buying each other new trucks and ski doos. UH wealthy canadians do help the poor. They help the natives too. The wealthy pay their TAXES which in turn provides money for services such as healthcare and welfare and subsidised housing.

Like the senate has any relevance. I have done the research and I know bilions gets spent. So teachers, doctors, nurses, hospitals, schools, job programs, housing etc. have no benifit to FN's? Ok Give the Govt. back it's money if you don't need it and it isn't doing any good. Daily operations? You mean the kind of stuff the rest of us pay our municipal TAXES for. Why would they want welfare? IS not protecting their TRADITIONAL WAY OF LIFE what half this BS is about about? Quit whining about not enough welfare money and go hunt a Carribou, or catch a fish. You should be thankful "whitey" has to buy his hunting and fishing licenses so there is some conservation going on. Why would I go to a remote Reserve? I want the one where they get casino or Oil royalties. Why are the wealthy FN people too greedy to help the other FN people? Realistically, I know in some areas the poverty is rampant, (they stole my cousins clothes when he worked up north) but that is also from the FN own poor leadership. There is a history of corruption and mismanagement as well as plain old lack of skill. But the bottom line is before "whitey" came there was no concept of poverty. The FN's lived off the land. Perhaps that is what they should return to, if they are not happy living off the ROC's tax dollars.

Bullsh*t. Get your facts straight. Billions every year go to health, education, and welfare as well as job programs for less than 1 million FN's. Quit crying poor. FN's have it better than any other group in this country. I wish I had access to the casino money. I wish I could get the Govt. to provide me with housing. Does Harper want to force an election by introducing a budget that the other parties have no option but to vote it down? Or is his Liberalized spending spree just trying to get himself some good PR? Why is he throwing around so much money? Isn't this a "conservative" Govt.?

The poor excuse for a childcare program, for one. Only months into the program and the cost is in the billions. So they spent billions and guess what? Kids still need daycare spaces. Who'd of thunk it? Bzzzzz! No good! That was a major campaign plank and it replaced a similar profligate Liberal program, except with more choice and less government waste. Except it produced 0 childcare spaces, which makes it a bigger waste than the Liberal program which would have atleast created spaces. Um you are the one "bitching", about Liberal spending. Or when they had to fight to be recognised as a "person" under the law. Then the second world war when the men were overseas and women filled the factories to do the same work men had done. (Did you know that many jobs were "de-skilled" because of this. The same job that was considered skilled labour when men were doing it was changed to unskilled labour so the companies wouldn't have to pay the women the same wages. ) These are the beginnings of the womens movement and the start of women leaving the tradional role in a traditional marrige. Not the 60's. Since then more women have entered the workforce or filed for divorce, or just not gotten married altogether. Did I spell it out clearly enough for you or do you need a map to go along with it? So don't come at me like you have any understanding of what my view is on Feminism, or the Women's rights movement, because it is obvious you can't distinguish between simple observations and what someone thinks about a subject. How is it a ridiculous topic? Sure conservation may have something to do with it but if the demise of the polar bear is really the 800 pound canary in the coal mine, the theory isn't quite working out. The numbers aren't backing that up so now they need another reason to explain why. Must be conservation. Another one of those inconsistencies. More of that undeniable science. The fact that conservation wouldn't make much difference if the earths climate was determined to do the bears in is neither here not there.
