There is no coincidence here, jacqueline944 and liberalpaulmartin are the same person (same IP address) and jacqueline944 has been warned about multiple accounts. This statement is about as productive as saying "Paul Martin Supports Child Pornograghy?" Lets cut this type of trolling out. Update: I just want to clarify that I personally don't think that Paul Martin supports child porn, but rather I was referring to the Conservative Party's huge press release blunder over the weekend.

It is funny how just this weekend I was bragging to a group of people about how I think the MLW forums are easily the best forums on the Net. I was saying how great (and rare) it is to find a place on the Net where everyone treats everyone else with respect and dignity and how little I have to actually moderate the discussion. And then I come back to this pathetic drivel? I am going to ignore this whole thread and everything in it and I suggest everyone else does the same. If for some reason you want to continue this discussion, please send me a PM and I will direct you to one of those other forums where disruptive and ignorant posts are valued over well thought-out and respectful posts.

If you see any problems in the forums, please report them to me. The only way we can make this forum work is if everyone participates in the overall monitoring. I think the rules and guidelines are pretty clear on the issue of researching your post. The rules and guidelines are also very clear on what is a copyright voilation, I have and never will admonished anyone for using a quote to back up their statements. I only remove posts that are either inflamatory and/or contain full copyrighted articles. The rules also go into detail about your freedom of speech, In my opinion, this is one of the few forums in Canada that has successfully avoided the sea of trolls and spammers that descend and destroy intelligent discussion. And only be enforcing these rules will we be able to preserve intellegant debate.

Galahad, that horse was dead long ago, yet you continue to beat it with a vengeance. You are the only person who can't seem to grasp the idea of copyright infringement. Why you continue to make an issue of this after I've plainly stated Maple Leaf Web's reasoning's for not allowing the posting of entire articles is beyond me. One thing for sure, I'm getting plenty tired of it. Perhaps a one month break from these forums will help you understand the importance of following the rules and behaving like an adult.

Hjalmar, I assume you got your tax list off of some American website, as these are American taxes, not Canadian taxes. Canada and the US fair some similarities in our tax system, but there are also some large differences. However, your point still stands, the state taxes have increased drastically over the past 100 years. But you do have to admit that there are more state services available today than there was 100 years ago.

FYI: Let's make sure to provide more than just a link and a sentance when posting new threads in these forums. This is the wrong way to address the issue of freedom of speech. In the future, if anyone is going to start a new thread, please avoid singling out one particular poster. I don't particularly care if any of you agree or disagree with Alliance Fanatic's recent posts, it's not your place to consider his punishment or whether there will even be a punishment. If you find a post offensive, please use the "Report this Post" feature and I will review the post and decide whether to take action. Do not use this forum to discuss the particular posting behaviour of a fellow forum member. Ok, this was fault - I apoligize. I publicly singled out Bushmustgo for using an insult and didn't do the same when righturnonred committed the same act. However, that isn't to say I didn't privately warn righturnonred for using insults - I did, and I'm fairly certain he understand that what he did was wrong. As I assume you do Bushmustgo. It is important that if you see misconduct in these forums that you report that post to me immediately. That way I can intervene as soon as possible. As I've said repeatedly before, I don't have time to read every single post in these forums, so it's everyone's responsibility to report any problems to me. If you fail to report abuse and it continues to the point where you begin to use insults in response, there is a good chance I'll end up reprimanding both of you. I've never been big on the idea of using moderators to patrol these forums. There is too great of a chance that they will inadvertently impose their own biases on the forum. I've said this many times before, I would much rather the participants monitor the forums and each others behaviour. Understanding that we all get worked up about the things we feel passionate about, we must all try our best to debate in a manner that is civilized and respectable. It is fine to diagree with what someone says (it would be a boring place if everyone agreed on everything), but lets make sure that we do it in a manner that would make our mothers proud.

Another example of your insightful posts, Bushmustgo. Bushmustgo, you can accuse me of "bias" all you want, but I think almost everyone else in the forum would disagree. I have no personal agenda when is comes to moderating this forum and I find your petty accusation insulting. I suggest you read over the rule and guidelines and pay close attention to the following section,

This doesn't surprise me - in fact, I'm surprised it took this long to happen. In my opinion, rule number one when producing a campaign website is to minimize your critics ability to use your domain name against you. So in this case, the Martin campaign should have registered all the different domain name combinations that include his name. For example, paulmartintime.com paulmartintime.net paulmartintime.org paulmartintime.info or even, paulmartinsucks.com (which appears to be owned by Paul martin supporters?) There a many many many more variations that could be registered and used. A classic example of a overlooked domain was gwbush.com, during the last Presidential campaign. Georgewbush.com was the official website of Presidential candidate George W Bush. Gwbush.com was the parody site of a raving anti-bush activist/profiteer. The site become a huge thorn in the side of the George W Bush and the Republican party during the campaign. After repeated attempts were made to shut the site down, Bush's people realized that attempting to fight this out in court did nothing by increase the overall exposure of the site and the person behind it. I doubt this will be the last time we see this type of action in Canada.
