  1. Nice to see, you're still trying to help educate some of the ignorance that is shamelessly rampant in our country. Keep it up!
  2. It is my hope that the peoples of Caledonia and Six Nations can be a positive role model for the other Treaties that are in negotiations and working towards settlement. The sooner, the better, for everyone. All peoples, Nation to Nation must make their own governments take immediate action.
  3. The worst is when a kid gets spanked (well deserved by some Im sure) and then immediately calls child welfare. My siblings and I all got a 'crank on the arse', usually only once or per hard lesson learned. None of us are repeat offenders and we are all 'free spirited'. However, my younger sister called welfare on my mom once ( she was the bad kid) and while it seems sorta funny now, it really wasn't then. If it wasn't for getting a spank on the butt every now and then, some of us would never learn and "learn to listen" at that. Child welfare stepped in naturally, and while nothing really happened, the fact that all kids have to do is make a call and their parents can be investigated... is the issue that is scary. So, parents should rethink spanking their kids , if only for the their own sake of avoiding being investigated as a child abuser. I think we all know how children can colorfully elaborate a great tale. Seriously, my mom broke a tree branch over my hide one time...ok, ok, maybe it was just a twig but it still broke and I laughed..OH HOW I LAUGHED! Different types of kids, different types of discipline. My other sister would prefer a beating over having her cell phone taken away... any day!
  4. LOL! I'm assuming this is your daily morning mirror speech. CUTE! In a feeble, sad, pathetic way. but AWWW, still cute. I hope you didn't hurt yourself in your posting. As amusing as your futile attempts at intelligent posts are, I still feel the need to ignore the ignorant. Good luck in your quest for humanity.
  5. I have participated in this forum from time to time, and thoroughly enjoy contributing to cross cultural views and education, however it becomes disgusting to see ‘fellow humans’ with complete disregard of respect for others, no matter the race. It is disheartening that many posters here lack the ability to stay on topic and continue to resort to petty racial remarks and again have attempted to turn this discussion into a ‘why to have a Native thread’. Most of you cant even follow a thread let alone actually educate your self with real facts. Thoughtfully, you have completely disregarded requests to be respectful to a very sensitive subject (hence the name of the thread?) and continue to find ways in EVERY single Native based thread, as to ‘why to hate a Native”. This is a testament of your true nature and I wouldn’t be surprised if you were direct descendants of the perpetrators of the very people that inhumanely inflicted crimes on our peoples. You have generalized, stereotyped and racial profiled every one of our nations through your ignorant remarks and sorry ass links. We ALL know who and what you are you… dismal specimens of the so-called ‘majority’ race. Perhaps if you took half the time to learn something as much as you spend spewing stupidity in here, you might actually evolve as a human, but please don’t bet your well being on it. Good Grief!! Seriously, what was SOO traumatic in your childhood that you lack empathy and the ability to self educate? Has your childhood memories been so severely devastating that you are unable to cope with hardcore facts and are incapable of accepting that the Native nations are humans with rights? A beautiful body of people that are moving forward and gaining independence obviously pisses you off so much that you’d rather make yourself look stupid than give a worthy contribution to cross cultural discussions. I can understand why this would be threatening to you, as this is exactly why your ancestors attempted genocide on our multiple nations. It has become evident that reality is probably very scary for many of you and I understand that this is why you continue to stumble over your words; and your repetitive racial comments is merely pathetic attempts to pursue your ‘equal’ identity. The real reason you lack intellectual contribution to a decent discussion is because you have led a sheltered existence that is deficient in meaning and cultural heritage. Sadly, many of you weak posters are nothing more than specimens of a society historically plagued with diseases and you continue to prove this with your postings. Your words are infected with ignorance and no matter how pitiful you seem, the Natives wont save your 'supreme' generation this time. Yes, when the baby boomers start to die off, it will our people cashing your cheques, handling your money, dispensing your pills and pushing your pathetic asses in wheelchairs. We are the countries leading demographic no matter what the death rate is; we are breeding and educating faster than any of the so-called majority. Indeed, we have a very interesting future in this country and I look forward to seeing those with the innate ability and sincere desire to achieve harmonious relationships- nation to nation- in a country that is worthy of being called Canada, a name given in honour, by the Native peoples. I will state it again. Okay, you dumb dumbs… go get a pen and write this down. Are you ready? IF YOU ARE NOT A PART OF THE SOLUTION YOU ARE APART OF THE PROBLEM! The reality is, we don’t need an apology to move ahead. We can pay all your/our taxes and yes, we have poor people just like your trailer parks and ghostly mining towns. This entire country is a multifaceted multi cultural farm camp. You see, we can accept the past and the reality of today and tomorrow and MOVE ON, the real problem is, many of you cant. Evolve yourself and graciously accept the fact that genocide didn’t work and no matter how pathetic your attempts are, whether its criminal or vile racial comments, it will not stop the rapid progression of our Native peoples. Go ahead… get mad because we are making money, get upset because we are taking back what is rightfully ours. Get frustrated because we are taking your enforced text book education and using it against those that have harmed us. Don’t blame us. Blame YOUR government, your voters, your religion and YOUR ancestors, for they are the ones responsible. Please, before even trying to quote my words…spend some time rattling your endangered brain cells and try to actually stick to the topic and find something at least partially intelligent and meaningful to say.
  6. I'd be most interested in knowing what you "recall" as disrespecting.
  7. I agree with Charter... WHO AND WHY? It was absolutely unfair to have that thread deleted, we finally get a thread that gained the interest of Native writers and respectful others, and someone deletes it? I actually think some progress was being made through discussion towards understanding each other nation to nation. Although I was not around during the weekend and missed some posts, I still feel this action was uncalled for and can only bring more harm than good!
  8. WOW. Long time, same stuff. Think we might actually be getting somewhere? I sure missed everyone. Love the title of the thread btw. Hah, THAT is the kind of nonsense that leads to stereotyping. Im thinking its time to start a REAL thread, just wish we could pre qualify the posters. Please, carry on. I'm only here to observe for a couple days and if anyone wants to pick a fight with me, Ill be over there watching the "lets keep the thread focused show". JK! Popcorn anyone?
  9. Being Native is not only a term for origin definition, but for many it is a way of cultural and/or spiritual life, which many average Canadian citizens seldom or attempt to understand or appreciate. Yes, we co exist in a society where the majority screams for equality, and the minorities struggle for individuality and cultural survival- but sooner or later ancient wisdoms and modern day knowledge will collide. Some of us are Canadians, Native Canadians, WHATEVER...but we are ALL citizens of Mother Earth and she can evict us anytime she wants. Us two legged humans should start focusing where the real issues of our futures are! I think if people took more time into doing factual research on Canadian and Native/Aboriginal/First Nations/American Indian/Aboriginal/Indigenous AUTHENTIC HISTORY, then we could participate in some very interesting and focused discussions. Those are just my thoughts from a REAL NATIVE Canadian tax paying citizens point of view... on this long, long thread that lacks true focus. Wish I could visit more often, as I sometimes find the forums here quite entertaining. ( Mental Note: copy and paste this reply to all threads Native related) National Aboriginal Day coming up.............HUG A NATIVE! lol
  10. LMAO...REALLY? great grammar by the way. Did you get your successful command of the English language with your fancy education? You know...the one my tax dollars pays for? How many Native communities, HAVE you been to? You recognizing success is about as likely as it landing in your mirror. But you can always hope!
  11. What are you trying to say Dancer? Native people are bad parents? Any particular reason you pointed out this article, as sad as it is. Our societies are not perfect, but we are not all the same. Gee, do all Canadians raise children like Paul Bernardo and Karla Holmoka? "Caucasian" society suffers from the same types of people and parents as Native people, the only arguable difference is, the media prefers Native stories, because people like you are fascinated with the concept of finding another way to generalize and stereotype our entire nations.
  12. YOU DO NOT PAY FOR MY EXISTENCE, so get off your high horse breathe some reality. You know nothing of who I am , nor what I contribute. That racial statement alone confirms that your are presumptuous, and the fact that you have some "Native" gene in your quantum, does not qualify you in any means as someone who has any validity when discussing Native issues. Obviously, you choose to see what you only want to see. Some " reservations" / Native communities are absolutely beautiful, STUNNING in fact- being that I have been to nearly 200 of them in various parts of Canada, I can attest to their diversity in customs and general well being. I am also a taxpayer, and I wish my money could directly towards providing people like you with a proper education. CharterRights, Thank you, child displacement is the issue I was trying to point out. I made no mention of residential schools, so I thank you for enlightening those you can with facts.
  13. Well It would be an ideal concept for global population control. LOL
  14. So I guess the children that were rampantly apprehended by social services, from alleged 'unfit' parents, don't count at all? It wasn't until there was more and more demands for investigations that these actions SLOWLY deceased. Wow, you really knew some Natives! You must be an expert then! Save your text book education for a real discussion, where your trivial two bits might be worth something.
  15. How narrow your mind and eyes must be, if you do not see the flourishing Native societies booming in Canada. A conditioned mind is a waste of space. Generous? Yes, I agree the government and the 'citizens' they favor- gave us way too much disease and genocidal torture that has continued for generations. Oh my, we should be so grateful for all the times they have paid for our relocation moves every time someone wanted the land(resource$) we resided on...oh and THANK YOU for taking so many of our children during the sixties and seventies. It was so generous of "Canada" to ban our languages, customs and prevent authentic history from being taught in the schools. Yeah, you're not against Natives, but you're not in favor of them or their success either.
  16. It's so delightful to see you boys playing nice! Good Golly...are we again pretending "Caledonia" is the issue again, rather than just admitting that is clearly about racism. CLEARLY. Oh yes, we can call it something else, paint it a different colour, reinvent its history, but it still stinks like shit. Nothing like some ' trytobe kkk' wankers to muck a up a good discussion. Norm for this forum, hey fellers? Carry on. YAYA..let's play the "Caledonia game", I'll be Native, you be white and you can try to find new ways to hate or bring me down..ready? set. GO!
  17. Multiculturalism... It would be most challenging to simply 'dismiss' or discard it considering the abundance of vibrant multiculturalism in Native nations within Canada. Haida, Dene, Saulteaux, Cree, Ojibwe, Iroquois, Metis, Inuit...where do all all these cultures fit in the picture? They are all distinctly different cultures. Pretend they dont exist? assimilate them to be "majority' as much as possible? Can't exactly put them back on the boat. How do you " throw out multiculturalism"? Getting rid of taxes is more likely to happen, as we are already a multicultural farmland. An ancient one at that.
  18. Why Did the Chicken Cross the Road? SOVEREIGN INDIAN: This is the Chickens inherent right as he is indigenous to this land!!! MILITANT INDIAN: That chicken should block the road, not cross the road!!! GRASSROOT INDIAN: If the darn chickens need to get across the road, let 'em cross the darn road! COLONIZED INDIAN: Chiggens should never cross the roads that white men built before the great white father crosses it first. If the white father crosses it, it is good. We must then follow. AMERICANIZED INDIAN: We must have roads. We must cross the roads that the white man built for us. We have to be thankful to the white man for this. I don't know why you Indians are always complaining. You embarrass us. Chickens are good for us. REPUBLICAN INDIAN: It's true that that white man built those roads for us. We are merely chickens. We will always be chickens until we learn to build those roads ourselves - for profit. DEMOCRATIC INDIAN: The chicken crossed the road because he didn't have enough funding. TRADITIONAL INDIAN: Those chiggens weren't traditional because they were supposed to be on it - not crossing it! INDIAN GRANDPA: I think he was runnin' away from rezidential school. URBAN INDIAN: That chicken crossed the road 'cause it was a city, man. You know what I mean? NEW AGE INDIAN: It was basically because of Jungian dream therapy, drumming, sweatlodges, my shaman, and long walks on the beach, near my beach house. POW WOW INDIAN That chicken must have been heading to a 49! EDUCATED INDIAN: I think it has to do with Einstein's theory which basically posits: "Did the chicken really cross the road or did the road move beneath the chicken?" REZ INDIAN: Whats a chicken? IHS INDIAN: I really don't care why he crossed that road. We still aren't paying for no stinkin hospital bills. BIA INDIAN: They crossed it because of CFR 49, Section 11299, gives them the authority to do so, under Department of Interior regulations, in the Executive Branch. They wrote a grant and we funded them. We are very proud of them. KFC INDIAN: I'll take a leg, a thigh, with corn and potatoes. Extra Crispy, please. TRIBAL INDIAN COUNCIL: The chicken crossed the road before we did? Fire his family!!!
  19. LMFAO, if insult throwing was the basis for losing an argument then EVERYONE in this forum is a loser. Now THAT'S funny
  20. GEO: I'm not gonna do your research for you. I've done far more than my share. It amuses me that you THINK that residential school deaths, survivors, history, and crimes is hearsay. This clearly demonstrates your inability to seperate truth from fiction with your lazy mentality and refusal to accept facts. What's the matter..did your reality check bounce?
  21. whats VALID about you ASSUMING our Native officers are UNDERQUALIFIED? Perhaps youre racial and personal attacks are more slyly hidden in your statements than my foward attitude. I have noticed throughout all your postings you have an underlying, yet identifiable discriminatory attitude towards Native people. Yes I have come to accept that it is very common in this entire forum and I have also learned not to take of it personally. I know you're type and I won't respond to a person that cowers behind a desk and does nothing to make this country a better place. I can only hope that you and your 'types' will get on the path to positive human evolution, instead of getting left behind with the rest of the narrowminded peeps that can't see past their own noses.
  22. Canada could be on the brink of breaking the bank afa offering any more soldiers. In the past, (and current?) we have heavily relied on the U.S. for their support and have used this as our predominant face of courage when being included as participants with any level of worldly and national affairs. FTW.
  23. Firstly, I'd like to offer a point of view that was sad for me to learn. The horrors and tragedies in residential school history is not only undeniable but clearly misunderstood... especially by most of you commenting on this thread. According to the traumatizing and lengthy research study I undertook with this matter, it is well documented that indeed children were 'taken away' for disposable...often in a shoe box. There are many tales, stories, cases of conviction that prove the sexual manisfestation that occured with the Native residents of the 'godly' schools. For those that dare to learn the mystery, there is a 'supposed' burial ground that contains hundreds if not thousands of these babies that were cruelly created, and destroyed at the hands of the colonized church. Many of you may not know , remember or even care about the apologies made by the vatican to the Native peoples for the 'god awful' crimes that were evidently commited throughout 'assimilation'. No... there may not be any instant links for you lazy researchers, but the facts are there, in black and white...moreso engraved in the hearts for several generations. As many turn a blind eye, many women weep.
