Why do you keep insisting race has something to do with it? If it were the non-native settlers protecting their own land, I'm sure you would be finding reasons to justify their actions. It is because the issues are with "Native people" (and land that is originally theirs by order of the queen)...that is why you have a problem, because they are Native, so it's you (and people like you) that is contributing to increased racism with this issue. It's the fact that natives are getting what is theirs that really bothers people like you. They will get what is theirs because that is what is right, no matter what their race. Not all Native people or nations share the same beliefs and wishes as the Six Nations. It's very important that you all understand the difference in all our nations.

If they attempt to remove the OPP, that goes against their attempts at a peaceful protest as we all know the Opp will summon the militia. It will be bloodshed and no one , NO ONE wants that. All actions are being made to avoid that type of worst case scenario.

Well then the title of this posting IS indeed very accurate. Not one of you here have yet to take a postion outside your box of hatred. Racism stems from hatred. I just wanted to share something for consideration> I have several friends in the police force. One of which waited FOREVER to get into the Edmonton Police Department, eventually denied, Racism too intense. This is the same with my other officer friends who want to work in the cities. They are often told to be Tribal cops and thats it. There are many of our Native people that want to be municipal officers, so that they can help manage the situations such as gang violence, crimes etc etc. and perform as a liasion with these troubled youth. The youth are more likely to respond to an Aboriginal officer than one of another race that has shown hatred and contempt for their people in the past. We could enforce positive direction with this by encouraging our government to "allow" more Native officers.

I see Ol' Riv is trying to downplay (again) what has happened to our people. What happened to the people that attended residential school (and convents) WAS GENOCIDE..accept it River. No, you are not repsonsible for it, so if thats why you wont admit it, then we free you from your guilt. The intergenerational effects from the residential schools was ALSO supposed to be a part of the govt's genocidal plan on Native people's (make them kill themsleves, so we dont have to)..and if that doesnt work..we will round up all the women and sterilize them. Other parts of the plan included small pox, TB, and moving people to land that had no agricultural ability (swamps). FACE THE FACTS already! DeNial IS NOT a river. There are many posters here who have attempted to hide their racism through carefully chosen words and fabricated statements, however there are the people here that have asked to be educated and are willing to listen, share and learn for the sake of a brighter future for all generations.
