I agree. -
Mixed Member Proportional representation
mikedavid00 replied to Denny's topic in Provincial Politics in Canada
Yes these refurendums should be federal. I first brought up these issues in the past. People from both left and right told me that people could not think for themselves. I rebutted that the media and our gov't made them this way. And when it came time for a referendum style election, look what happened. NO - funding religious schools. NO - MMP Euro/Islmaic style of gov't. People aren't dumb. You just have to give them the chance to decide and they will know enough to make a good vote. Don't believe me? YES SIDE - http://youtube.com/watch?v=0-MWzjnBDwY NO SIDE - And what did they vote after all the funds and global warming hype? The people voted NO! -

As I said, each riding ahs about 100,000 people. It's nice you are learning something though. I do give you credit for that. There's your emotions and opinions, then there's the truth. Jennie? -
Mixed Member Proportional representation
mikedavid00 replied to Denny's topic in Provincial Politics in Canada
That's not true. The word on the street is that MMP meant there would be 'more parties in our parliment' and 'greens would get in'. People voted against it. The people were not wrong. They understood the truth and voted against it. Actually, try to pass something that filters out small parties even further and you would probably get a YES becuase average normal people hate having so many parties. -
Mixed Member Proportional representation
mikedavid00 replied to Denny's topic in Provincial Politics in Canada
Lets keep this simple. Ridings are 100,000 to represent them locally. We vote for who we want and the party that gets most votes get's a majority. If things are unfair in the provincial legislature, than adjust the seats and move on. Also Guyser, You saw how Canadians are indeed smart. Religous schooling, wacko, Euro style electoral systems, the people are smart and they know how to vote. Why not just let the people decide on spending and immigration and other priorities. The gov't DOESN'T NEED TO BE OUR DADDY. Despite what Keng333 wants you to believe. -
Mixed Member Proportional representation
mikedavid00 replied to Denny's topic in Provincial Politics in Canada
Not true. If you are voting for a representative who is local, then that is surely democracy. Each riding has about 100,000 people. (in toronto that can be litterally within 6 city blocks). 50% vote. But what if 20-60% of those people have a special interest and have unusually high voting turn out? Then they can sway an election in their favor. The question ultimatly becomes 'should the GTA determine the outcome of the election?' Well.. despite that 75% of the Ontario population is here are a chunk of the WHOLE countries revenue comes from here, I would say that they should have a say. But here's food for thought: "...what if 20-60% of those people have a special interest and have unusually high voting turn out?" Now we have a problem don't we. We have an un natural phenomena in our political system that we need to deal with. Send them back hom to where they come from if they are not employed.. Stop immigration NOW. -

And how do you feel about that as a Candian. If enough immigrants come in, there will be a communist immigrant party ruling us and there will be no turning back. -

Becuase many immigrants are not stoneage. The biggest group are the Chinese. They don't want ethnic schooling and it doesn't benefit them at all. They had concerns on their own radio stations that they were going to pay more taxes. (none the less, they still voted Liberal). Most hindu's are against it also becuase Hinduism is very open and accepting of other religions. Hindu's are allowed to marry outside thier religion. But Hindu's have language, cultural baggage, and segregation issues that hurt us. The people who would have loved to have had it were Sikhs and Mulsims - 2 stoneage cultures. Even ppl in those religions knew that it was a bad idea. This issue was no differnt than Shariah law. There were small groups, within a minority that wanted it. Oh well. They weren't powerful enough. But one day they will be. And thanks to MMP getting voted down, they will not have a voice in our parliment. -

Stop dodging the question. Please tell me your feelings on the FACT that every visible minority picked Liberal. What does that tell you. -
Interview with NDP Leader, Jack Layton
mikedavid00 replied to Greg's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Mr Layton, Why do you support our current immigration system when people are arriving in Canada without work permits. Canada is amongst the only country in the world that allows this. Jack, do you really find it sensible to let people flood into Canada when we can't feed our own children and we can't even fund out own healthcare system? Do you realize how people struggle to get by in life? Where is the logic of having elderly people arrive to Canada, and in 90 days they can sign up for a triple bypass surgery and clog our system that Canadians have paid into their whole life and now we must die on our own medical waiting lists for someone who resides in another country or who cannot even speak English. This is completely ruining our social and financial fabric year by year. And I'm respectfully asking you to please not answer with aging populations or credentials not being recognized. Those two excuses are for the uninformed and mainstreme media. I'll remind you that on a forum and people here are extremely well read on these issues so please answer seriously what you plan to do with our illogical and broken immigration system. -

So you are avoiding the proof that immigrant ridings exclusively voted Liberal with some NDP exceptions? -

I wouldn't agree with that. A voter can be wrong. -

NDP ridings don't count. It's a focus on Libearls and immigrants and the lack of PC support where Immigrants are concerned. I got the results from: http://www.thestar.com/OntarioElection/article/265650 And the ethnic ridings I PAINSTAKINGLY got from: http://www.census2006.ca/english/census01/...FED.cfm?R=FED03 Remember there has been a drastic change in visible minorities since 2001 (which is what the site basis it's info off) so If someone was showing around 15-17%, then it's very safe to say it's at 20%. Cambridge showed as a 'London/Kitchener' type of area with minorities at around 8%. Certainly not 20% -
Italians were Christians who came here with money helped build Canada. Back then you could not buy a house with no money down and no proof of income. This is cannot be said for the modern immigrant who are the benefactor of our social programs.

Riding list updated. Basically 100% of ethnic ridings voted Liberal. The First Iranian has now been elected into Canada's parliment. That is an un-natural balance. -
How could the PC people behind the scenes 'let' this happen though? I just don't get it. Well I do.. it's no different than any other workplace. Tory became the boss and wanted things done his way or no way. I saw the PC party president on TV today.. he was awfully young looking. And they had a lot of financing also... Wow I feel so sorry for Tory. Well I don't feel too bad for him becuase reminds me of those stuborn bosses I always hated.
-
Tory lost his own seat. Wow...
-
I'm very happy with the way this has turned out. The PC only won the most whitest of the riding demographics. It's litterally that simple.

As in my riding has been hijacked so voters vote for immigration and ethnic interests. Not the interst of Canada. Thus my vote doens't count. Would you like me to go run over and prove it? -

Reasonable Accomadation, what does that mean?
mikedavid00 replied to Moxie's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
But you know what though... When do you feel that you are 'allowed' to make rules. I think everyone here agree's that people who move here should want to adapt to our ways and fit in with us to a large extent. But why is it that you feel that *YOU* do not have a right to decide how they will live. Keep in mind that many of these people are not Canadian citizens and surveys show that they do not identify themselves with being Canadian. Why do you feel that you have no choice who comes to Canada? I'm very troubled by this. Please explain. Remember old bold cold, you built this country, it's your country. Why do you feel this is out of your hands?
