"The only way we're going to lose it is if it's rigged": this should be pretty close. This was stated before the election and it means nothing less than the will of the people doesn't matter. I already know the outcome because I say so. This is simple, a kindergartener can understand that. So either you admit that it has nothing to do with the Constitution and the democracy. Or you are a boldface liar just like your lying Idol. Which one? I'll keep an open mind. Let's see.

RFK Jr. hints more big names to back Trump?
myata replied to CouchPotato's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
Such a credible source, "I'm promising you the third way", just three months on. The reality tells us everything, and it always catches up with a vengeance if ignored. Bitter losers pretending to be having fun together. It could be funny in a ridiculous way if it weren't so repulsive. -
"Either it's me or its rigged" has nothing to do with democracy. One has to completely reject independent, own thinking to not understand such obvious things. "Have deep respect for the office of the President"? Pupils learn in the kindergarten that no one office rules in democracy; about the Constitution and separation of powers. The converts here only confirm that is already quite apparent: the cult has not a clue about democracy; it doesn't trust it and doesn't need it. It's an a personality, Idol cult as clear and simple as they ever were.

He isn't weird. It's quite easy to understand him: he doesn't understand democracy. He despises it. And he doesn't need it. And he said as much. And it just may be the nature of the strange attachments to thugs and tyrants. We can't pretend to be deaf or dumb here, the time does not give concessions for that. So either we reject and condemn it; or it's the new normal and we chose it. Democracy is not a gift or guarantee certificate. It's a choice of free citizens: nothing more and not a grain less.

Dead brains cannot process objective information that isn't compatible with their dead memories. This is a known fact. - In 2021: only a year after presidency ended in chaos that he engineered entirely with his own lies, Putin was making ultimatums to NATO, not Ukraine. Today he just forgot about it, as Sweden and Finland joined the alliance. This is an objective fact. It took two years to make it happen in reality and no fat-lipped lies. - "The Agreement for Bringing Peace to Afghanistan", the United States–Taliban deal or the Doha Accord, was a peace agreement signed by the United States and the Taliban on 29 February 2020 in Doha, Qatar. The US agreed to an initial reduction of its force level from 13,000 to 8,600 within 135 days (i.e. by July 2020), followed by a full withdrawal within 14 months (i.e. by 1 May 2021) if the Taliban kept its commitments. This are just facts - any five year old can look them up in less than a minute. But what is reality when the organ that was evolved to process it (in about four billion years) is dead? What difference could it make to a dead brain?

Yes many conversations need to happen if we want to avoid facing this kind of choice over and again. Democracy will not persist without objectivity, reason, responsibility and strong standard of integrity. It is a machine used by grown up citizens to manage their common matters - nothing like a wishing well.

This is a fat, thick red line here and ignoring it will do nothing to remove it. "It's me or it's rigged": normal politicians in a democracy just don't say that. And then they don't do what one of the candidates have done. Maduros say things like that, and do them. No way it could be normal, in a first world democracy. Ultra etc. right in Europe, they don't say that: they recognize and understand democracy and he just doesn't. He has no respect for democracy if it wouldn't give him what he craves. There's no way around it, to ignore or misunderstand it. Just because one party completely failed its responsibility to the people doesn't make it any more normal or legitimate. It's not a normal political candidate, in a democracy. There's nothing normal about that. And now, it's a done deal, the record. The only question that remains: could this be the new normal?

Hear, hear. We need a thug because he would know how thugs think... wait, and then what? Will a liar and crook act and behave for a noble cause? For the better of the world and the people not his lying mouth? Has it happened, like ever? Why would it happen and how? This is the time to think, use our brains, knowledge, lessons thinking and responsibility. Because brainless, they just smell the uncertainty in the air and jump and clap with all kind of brainless, !diotic ideas. And what if we try that? It may just work, right? Caligula, Nero, ... and so on, time after time, countless, no never enough for brainless minds.

"I win or its "rigged"!". Because I say so.This could be the new standard of American politics going forward. Right, as in some third world Bababwe or Mubuzuela. Where's the difference? The choice is ours. He didn't take back any of his lies. He never apologized. So he will do it again, and we know it. Utter rejection or the new normal. No avoiding this choice. Just another election - not really.

Imaginary world? Easily.

It was heading that way for a while and now looks like the time of the choice have arrived. It may not be the final one; but surely it's going to be the one that matters and will contribute to the outcome. Democracy is not a popular show, Romans have learned that and there's nothing new there to revisit. Democracy requires of the citizens reason; the ability of critical thought; responsibility; and always too. Circus democracy will not last because it lacks the foundation: the reason, the responsibility, and the principles. This is a crossroads and as any challenge of Time it cannot be ignored or shrugged away. There's no point in pretending that it isn't there and nothing much is happening. It won't work because the choice will be made in any case. Either it's condemned and rejected; or it is the new normal. We choose. And if there's a part of the society that have come to think (or repeat, thoughtlessly) that democracy is overrated; that they would be fine with electing not a democratic leader bound by laws and principles, but a king. First, yes anyone has the right to think what they like and even choose it. But there's a mandatory add-on that has to come with it, no can't be refused: the consequences. See, there's nothing for the king in being elected. He/they may be fine just as they are and "you won't have to vote again". Just think of it (and if that's too much trouble, look). So no that option doesn't exist: you will end up with an emperor and no one will be asking. We get what we invest in, not the dream images and that's exactly as always, no surprises. None of this is dark prophesies, exaggeration, scaring etc all only clear and logical cause to consequence chain. None of this is complicated, so no such escape either. Sure, we knew.
-
There would be consequences for sure, but I wouldn't go into future-guessing, let's keep it simple: can it be the new normal? From now on, and for as long as the democracy lasts? And then, someone some time will push it a bit further? To where? Where would this path end? Democracy is not a wishing well. If the reason and responsibility go away; not needed anymore no miracle in the world could keep it going and functioning. Sure the founding fathers knew it just that simple.

Policies, jobs, border security and many others are all important issues for the election. But this question cannot be shrugged off and ignored either: can it be the new normal, and standard of American politics from now and on? Should it be? Where will it lead, and end? There's nothing normal about one of the candidates. This fact cannot be ignored and forgotten. Can a pathological, sick liar be the leader of a functional and functioning democracy? Can we just forget everything and pretend that nothing happened? There's no ignoring this question because if we do, it will stay here and will come back with more, and more. If it isn't condemned and dismissed now by the society, it will be the new normal. And then, we would absolutely see more of it, and worse. Among many issues, the sane America has a choice to make. It will not go away. And it has nothing to do with partisan, ideological or any other lines. It's very simple and entirely present: what is normal, in politics?

They celebrated the genocide
myata replied to Gaétan's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
Democracy is not a wishing well, magic wand etc. There may not be instant and easy solutions to complex problems that developed over decades. It follows that those who pretend and "demand" such are either: a) brainless or b) lying. And those are indeed all options possible, according to reason and logic. -
Factually, in the world today simultaneously two large-scale unilateral conflicts are developing: 1. Putin's war in Ukraine that due to its brutality and unprecedented nature in Europe is reaching the global level by the impacts and possible consequences. 2. Hamas attack on Israel and the response action by Israel. In addition, China action in Taiwan is more likely than it's ever been. Is the world moving back down the axis of time? Are we heading into the 18th century style global politics, only with nukes and satellites this time around? Clearly, great words do very little (more like nothing) to prevent that future. What could? Anything?

Trump Sinks to a New Low
myata replied to Aristides's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
I hope you have some objective evidence to substantiate the claim. Because you know what the alternative would be, right? No, no way you couldn't know that, by now. -
Trump Sinks to a New Low
myata replied to Aristides's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
Either people are fooled by the lie; or, if caught the liar meant something else. He thinks he can't lose this way. Now: should/can a liar be given any position of trust? A tough one, no? -
RFK Jr. considering endorsing Trump?
myata replied to CouchPotato's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
No news here. Energetic bluster followed by bitter ridiculous, such a common and tired path of emptiness that is full of itself. And this was supposed to be "the third way". Oh well. -

The third way to pathetic way. Looks like a natural attraction. Oh well.
