  1. This is good news. *claps* Now to bring that down to Chinas 4% or less and we can have a party. But I must question, if borrowed money to pay for people is employment or just lending people money.... someone has to pay for it eventually.. productivity is better than nothing though but all the debt spending does represent a bulge economically... Its just not realistic for continuance.... I think government should be responsible that way. If people did the same it would spell out financial ruin. A bankrupt Canada isn't fair to Canadians. Productivity that leads to sustained growth is good, short injections mean nothing - Keynesian economics has only brough debt to nations. Is the debt really an investment, it seems to cost more and more each year? Was it an investment for the Greeks, what about Spain and Italy? If they are quality jobs its good news, if it is just messing around with figures only flys will enjoy it.
  2. No, no it isn't. Although I don't think the same thing will happen as happened with BC Mining, (that is the new chinese owners advertising for people that speak Chinese as an essential job requirement), a royalty goes to the public, if only good government was in place. This allows the exploitation of the land which is collectively owned by the public, that is it holds title (more or less). While a job is good, only a chain of supply from that individual benefits. The individual while still being accountable to the public through the law is not necesarily responsible for the public, as they are a private individual. Basically royalities are like jobs for the public interest, while jobs themselves are a chain of support for a private individual. I think because the land is publically owned (all land is people just have private leases on land which set out their land use allowances) the public should benefit. I'm not saying jobs arn't good, but I am saying royalties are better than jobs for the public, so long as the public has good government that allows their input while allowing equal access to the government resources. Exploitation which only benefits few people has the oppourtunity to upset many. I'm actually not against foreign management, but I think there has to be a very strong oversight and public incentive. The best should manage, but everyone else needs to be protected, otherwise it is exploitation of the public and not oppurtunity to improve the public's quality of life. Bear in mind this take over wasn't all about alberta. Canada's stake in overseas assets were also effected. Canadian corporate power projection in the resource sector has been hammered ongoing for the last few years especially with major stake areas being effected by the Arab Spring and other turbulence. It weakens Canada's power projection and stake of control of the direction of the energy sector. Its not about money from the resources it is about direction of the sector, and who has control and access to it.
  3. no actually I wasn't. What is your f35's range? Are the cost of external f35 tanks includedin the f35 purchase? What do those external munitions and tanks do to the f35's stealth? hmm.. so far the f35 is only approved for two missiles internally AND it isn't an intercept fighter... figure that. Yeah that is right the external fuel tanks negate the f35's stealth so if you are buying a stealth fighter, then you can't spec it based upon its characteristics when its stealth doesn't function! see also:http://demosthenes.info/blog/337/The-F35-Joint-Strike-Fighter-The-Wrong-Tool-For-Canadas-Air-Force
  4. First off you need a reality check Second off More distortion. You forgot to mention "none of the f35 systems are combat proven" on the f35 unlike the Rafale which has actually seen combat. You come off as incredibly desperate with the sheer level of lying and distortion of the facts. Rafale is also more fuel efficient at high speed than the f35 which only has a range of 500-1000n. km the rafale's range is 3,700+ km about 4x to 8x as far. It also has more advanced missile guidance systems.
  5. a lie. http://www.prnewswire.com/news-releases/raytheon-demonstrates-wipak-wireless-paveway-avionics-kit-on-french-navy-rafale-aircraft-161654285.html
  6. This just hit me today http://o.canada.com/...ream-protected/ the fact that lakes and rivers arn't protected anymore as of December 5th 2012. I have to say I'd sooner see the politicians backing the change poisoned than the wildlife and my drinking water. Being in a mining intensive area, it is distressing that a few shareholders and execs can make massive profits while I suffer extensive losses to my quality of life. It is criminal.
  7. Well its not all one sided it is already an actual fallout situation as Chinese passports are no longer being recognized to the south... http://www.strategyp...s/20121207.aspx Also India and the US arn't gaurenteeing safe passage to all ships only saying they will not recognize it for themselves meaning all the little guys don't have military support from India and the US on the issue. meaning they may allow it to happen (probably for effect) The Taiwan issue is very heated.............. As china probably COULD embargo Taiwan unless the US actually broke the blockade. Taiwans attempt to break it themselves would likely not be too pretty. Someone I spoke to thinks the new head Chinese guy isn't into war though.......... It definately has powder keg potential. The everyone vs. China scenario has been developed over the last while though.... China is the only one with nukes though... It would be miraculous economic suicide for the US to get into it militarily, amusingly so. I have no clue on this one, but I think it is highly likely the chinese will police resource rich areas. http://www.google.ca/imgres?q=resource+areas+of+south+china+sea+map+oil+gas+deposits&um=1&hl=en&sa=N&tbo=d&biw=1344&bih=546&tbm=isch&tbnid=bxErAlHKDRkZwM:&imgrefurl=http://twelfthbough.blogspot.com/2012/01/parasites-on-move.html&docid=hPfYnb3R_LwcBM&imgurl=http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-ViZSg1k6_cY/TxML38mWt2I/AAAAAAAAC-A/LPR1yIL586k/s1600/oil%252Band%252Bgas%252Bdeposits%252Bsouth%252Bchina%252Bsea.png&w=520&h=524&ei=v-rCUKTdAYrGygHn2oD4CQ&zoom=1&iact=hc&vpx=144&vpy=203&dur=1707&hovh=225&hovw=224&tx=159&ty=131&sig=108019532912418955188&page=1&tbnh=146&tbnw=145&start=0&ndsp=22&ved=1t:429,r:8,s:0,i:108 ftp://ftp.fisheries.ubc.ca/l.teh/destructive%20fishing/South%20china%20sea.pdf
  8. http://ca.reuters.com/article/topNews/idCABRE8B619M20121208 I'm all for free market but a royalty scheme is needed that benefits the public.
  9. Why trick? Is this trying to get the baby to eat the vegetables even though they arn't as good as the Banana, here comes the airplane... Are you a holocaust denier too? ffs have you looked at the ice data in the north? You think you launch a bunch of nukes outputing tons of thermal energy and you don't expect the planets thermal level to increase? That is just one source of thermal generation that isn't natural to earth. Of course it rises, where is the offset of artificial cooling? Then it is a question of heat capture through atmospheric conditions including ocean depth.. fact is ocean levels have risen.. ocean temperatures have not cooled so more heat is in the oceans... Do you know how much of the earth is covered in ocean? are you honestly still denying global warming? http://ocean.nationa...mperature-rise/ make some lipton cup of soup and tell me it ain't hotter than it was in the pack. Now I'm not saying something needs to be done to stop it, but I am saying that you should take it into consideration. I think that things should be ok if things progress for the next 5 years but I think the rate of climb will go up again during the next solar incline. (since technically for the next 5 1/2 years we are suppose to be in a solar radiance decline before the next incline starts.. But it is clear temperature is going up gradually, and it is doing things http://en.wikipedia....iki/Solar_cycle Bad economic times and industrial stagnation help keep things cool though so we have a positive outlook on global warming. It is just a no brainer, you realease all the energy and you don't expect temperature to go up.. touch a match before and after lighting it and tell me that thermal energy once converted doesn't make things warm up...
  10. I've read otherwise the Arrow was piecemealed and sent to the US for use in their rocket program. The technology transfer went from the British to the Americans not the otherway around... http://www.avroarrow...ancellation.htm Fact is Canadians don't need American junk when they can make their own and employ Canadians rather than flushing their earnings down the toilet so American execs can benefit. The Arrow flys faster and higher, than the F35 (and potentially even the raptor....)\ American jets raptor and f35 can't even fly as high as the Arrow... and the arrow can outrun them.. 50 years later! If Canada had the US research budget we'd all be able to fly to alpha centauri today.
  11. Nope wrong again. Its not called a volunteer militia because they need to. Oh shut up with your nobody needs bs, it is pure rhetorical banter that is a cosmic teapot debate. No one needs any of the stuff, clue in. canadians could go back to old order Mennonite ways just fine, it is about what it allows not that it is 'needed'. The stuff very much fullfills a need that is replacing 4 challenger jet aircraft that cost a whole lot of money and only a very small group of execs have access to while the whole of the public pays for them. I much favour my approach that spreads the wealth and allows more people to gain from the taxpayer outlet. If the execs want private jets let them pay for them. screw IP. You do realize you are not me. If I need parts for something you can build it, it isn't for commercial application. Its not being sold. get over it. No sorry, you are the person who supports ruining peoples lives for the benefit of a small group of executives at the cost to the public benefit. There is something called "the 'repair exception'" to IP it allows for non commercial reproduction for purpose of repair of systems. WTO http://www.murdoch.e...er104_text.html Also it would be interesting to see how many of the parts are newer than 20 years my guess is few if any, and if it was patented in Canada... (You do realize patents are only binding for 20 years and must be filed in Canada to be effective. Signals.Cpl it is you who don't seem to know the law or how to apply it. fueled by gasoline you could probably bulletproof mesh line this thing... and it can go on the road... OR it can fly or drive at up to 180kph. http://singularityhu...the-cheap-part/ you could soup this up as a VIP transport. for 300,000 you could get 20 of these sorts of things for the price of one of the challengers .. I'm geussing you could find even lower cost variants too.... http://pal-v.com/
  12. I'd still prefer atleast one human for escort and intercept... especially if the inbound is only potentially hostile. It would suck for an android to start a war, or kill people it wasn't suppose to. Bombing missions are a different issue as are actual air defence operations. lots of stuff will benefit from androids if they actually rolled out the tech, they don't want to to a large extent it has been scuttled for 10 years... (it is too game changing)... but they are getting better with human brain reproduction via computers now. Bush_cheney If I havn't convinced you on the gyros (which could be turned into a drone with low cost sensors and a low cost microcomputer (and/or radio communications to a mainframe for nonsensitive work including remote streaming via radiowave) This video should convince you it is well worth the money
  13. I don't know why you are saying it is dead when it is still being improved and developed. I'm not sure if you are aware but it was the Canadian built Arrow that americans used as a basis for their own defence systems. Canada has SAR helicopters.. although I think creating airship routes that serve as air defence, transport and SAR are a better option than helicopters, that and some lighter than air aircraft (light airframe low cost ultralights. Just SAR is not a solution you have to build in economy to the plans. Otherwise you are just flushing money down the toilet. You don't want SAR you want multirole combat and police helicopters that can also function in SAR.. you don't want "just SAR" that is a waste of money. You station these around areas put on a float and you are good for under $15,000 Rotor Hawk Falcon Gyroplane Of course you build them via a Canadian crown corporation... at less than the cost of buying 3 or 4 high costing SAR helicopters. You can get 200 of them or more station them throuthough canadian compunities... Train park rangers and other emergency officials to fly the things... put in electronics as required like Infared sensors, motion detection, heater etc.. (but low cost options) http://www.gyrosaway...uyers-guide.php and before you laugh "Over 1,000 autogyros worldwide are used by authorities for military and law enforcement" It is tough fiscal times so you need fiscal restraint, its not time to go out and buy multi million dollar helicopters that save 10 people a year. http://www.gyrosaway.com/FAQ's.htm although getting something with jump takeoff capacity is good. now bear in mind you might need a tandem area, but either they are alive or they are not. there are low cost mods available. But building multi use gyros is a much better option than buying "SAR helicopters" and it would be great if it was done all in Canada by the government itself. They could even sell commercial variants as a bonus to taxpayers. If they expanded "landing zone areas, gyros would be a great advantage to mid distance travel. no windy roads. Although the CF plan is here http://www.tpsgc-pwg...-rscfw-eng.html Bottom line though you can build a whole lot of gyrocopters for 800 million dollars. (800 million was the cost for 15 comorants) Here is another forum discussing gyros for SAR http://www.rotaryfor...ead.php?t=25909 ---- GOOD ONE---
  14. The 5th and 6th generation models are quite a bit better http://www.facebook....402158416505160 What it turned into the US jet fighter program? It hasn't turned out Bush Cheney it is still going...
  15. Bush Cheney, if you were Canada would you go for the Arrow II?
  16. Maybe she doesn't like you and there was anthrax inside as your "special gift" Why don't you contact her and find out.
  17. I have the feeling drones will be more of a rage a few years from now...
  18. The UN is generally only suppose to become involved for "security threats", this regime change BS is political abuse of the UNO. It all went downhill with Korea, basically the whole concept of preventing problems. But creating civil wars to legitimize invasion contrary to the UN charter of interstate non interferance is abuse. And we know this is what NATO is doing.
  19. Well its not just for carriers they are short take off meaning they are more versatile. If you've ever seen these things hover over you you know how impressive they are, bombing something from a stationary hover is pretty cool you could even do search and rescue with it if you put some type of recovery tool in the bombay... mach 2 search and recovery.... none the less it is nice to have a mix of possibilities.. but having the support is useful. I'm not 100% against the project as I think it is good to have a few stealth aircraft, but putting all the blood into them is a bit of a nonsense or having the lifespan go to 40 years.. I think this plane will be way obsolte sometime in the next decade. now for 1/2 of $45,802,000,000 , no but if the US wants to buy at their rate and transfer them to Canada with Canada paying the US that 4 billion for those jets, and offer technical support it may be more viable, as they would be used for Norad and US wars over seas regardless. If Canada is to be a US satalite it should expect the US to offer support, otherwise there is little incentive for Canada to do it. As stated my buy ins would be a few every year starting around 2016 for about 5 years. (about 1 billion per year, that would come direct from the DND budget) but I would also ramp into it with f18s and Rafael.... or a Canadian option or all of the above. The cost wouldn't be higher than just buying f35's actually it would offer more aircraft by trimming off a chunk of the high costing F35s. Personally I like the VTOL F35's the best and if it was a choice the whole order would be the VTOLS even if only 21 of them. (in addition to about 21 F18superhornets, and 14 Rafael, and 42 Arrow II's provided they are built right. Fact is the VTOLs are more operable and can land and take off from a whole lot more places which is indispensable. I've seen these things used in deckplans in place of helicopters meaning if Canada planned properly it could put these things on its ships or use ships as "jump points" to extend range without need of aerial refuling. They are just strategically way more useful. Here is the B landing http://www.gizmag.co...g-at-sea/20051/ I don't get why people ask, why more than one type of aircraft.. its useful to have cards. Even 14 instead of 21 with cost increases would still be a go. Of course my buys are with a much different budget and different tax structure too... since my total policy plan is to restructure the public debt and insure 0 deficit budgeting. The main benefit of the f35b's is that they can be forward based away from regular airfields.
  20. my thought was a simple holy sh1t 40 billion!!!!!!
  21. Well even having it there is somewhat of a deterent to its capture. Or attacks on sites... unless someone supplied the 'rebels' with chemical suits. I am wondering how the US knows this is happening though.. Its not like the US couldn't engineer the situation as an excuse. You know lets put up some patriots launch the red herring to legitimize our invasion etc... I'd feel more comfortable with the mixed product than letting the unmixed product be taken. Likewise as a fallsafe flooding facilities with the materials prevents others from going into get the stuff. If the rebels have chem suits it is party redundant anyway. There has been a real problem with air sites and resource sites being attacked setting up sarin in those areas will be a good defence. It also means any sort of attack could create fallout or have an immediate response. I think it is more likely for NATO to supply this to the people closing in.. http://www.nap.edu/o...isbn=030907178X I don't get it sarin seems more humane than bombs... DU rounds seem like more of a threat to people than Sarin.
  22. According to this http://2.bp.blogspot...deral Polls.PNG the CPC also dropped by an equal amount. While the liberals picked up the difference. I can't beleive you are looking at polls 2 to 3 years away The liberal election drop is just damn strange though a 7 point drop...
  23. Women's Lib has issues with you having limits on women.
  24. Something like this wouldn't have been that bad. http://www.defensene...-Block-Purchase But I think that what is really needed is a mixed force. A 4 billion purchase of 33 planes would be a good mix for Canada. but I think the problem is the US isn't really offering national support to Canada to buy its jets. Theres no doubt they would be used for US security issues anyway. I think the bottom line is the US doesn't need or want Canada to have these jets, otherwise it would offer DOD support to the jets.
