Conservative Main Theme: We Cut Taxes

The NDP too. -
Considering the F-22 can take on a dozen F-15's at once and win, it doesn't sound like a bad investment.

How about the dish's? I'd like to get MTS out in the sticks and have everything on one bill, but no cigar.

NDP's Layton promises investments

I am having a hard time buying that the battery power exists today that can produce the equivalent of 583 horsepower and almost 1000 ft. pounds of torque. If there is a battery out there that can pull an 84 ft. air seeder for 16 hours I would love to see that. Then there is combines, It takes a lot of power to run hydraulic pumps as well, unless they switch the hydraulic motors to electric motors which would be using a ridiculous amount of juice. Those would have to be big big machines to fit the battery in to be capable of what machines use now, I would not like to pay the hydro for keeping these machines going. Our aeration fans and unloading augers are electric. They run on about 11 hp. Electric is more efficient and powerful than diesel when there is a 320 cord connecting it. Oh and I can run only 3 fans before I overload the breaker. Having battery powered machinery won't be feasible for around 50 yrs. -
Sounds like an affordable alternative to the centre ice package. All in all not a bad idea.

Open warfare in South Ossetia

He is allowed to criticize Canada, no argument there. I am allowed however to call bullshit and paint a picture of said person being a hypocrite. If this country is so evil, said person has the right to leave. I'm suggesting that with the rights we enjoy, also comes responsibilities. Too bad some people need an education on that. -
Ten years is bugger all and a smart investment to take China down a peg.

Nixon didn't have the India option.

I'm not out to change your mind, I'm trying to convince others. I have succeeded in painting you as a hypocrite. You sir have been outfoxed by someone who is more redneck than GW Bush. You attack GW Bush personally, your asking for it. Your whole argument that the US and Canada are the "evil west" is bullshit and I've called it, and proved it. Your only defense is calling me a 12 yr. old and saying my dismantling of your argument is a personal attack. My argument is that you have come to Canada and get an opportunity at a better life than that craphole you came out of, then you throw it back in our face. We have fought crapholes militarily and economically like the USSR for this lifestyle. God help us if we lost the cold war, I sure don't want to be calling anyone comrade. The US attacking everyone is an investment on keeping our lifestyle preserved, and they are doing a good job at it. Freedom isn't cheap. My problem is someone coming here and enjoying all the benefits of the lifestyle and not knowing how we achieved it. You come here and spout how evil Canada and the US are, yet you are living in Canada and enjoying a lifestyle that some in Russia would love to enjoy. The US and Canada is only evil when it's convenient for you, once again you are a hypocrite. If you were living in Russia and posting from there, your argument would be taken much more seriously. Canadian economy down, oh wait you live in Toronto, come out west or to the Maritimes, no hurting economy out here. As for the US being evil, what foreign leader went to see the Taliban in A-stan or Saddam in Iraq to show solidarity when the US attacked??? -
Harper's actions speak louder than words. The Chinese are PO'd at him.
-
That day is however coming very quickly, how about investing there to speed up the process? When India does come to that level, then China is in deep kaka. Uncle Sam is however still our best customer.

That's where India, the rest of Asia, Africa, Latin America come in. Factory workers are a dime a dozen; our oil, grain, and metals aren't.

I have read, you are lumping Canada in with the US on your opinions. You've claimed Canada is America's stooge. I have pointed you out as a hypocrite and this thread is proof. You live in "the West" and hate everything about it except for the posh lifestyle you get to enjoy here because of "Western foreign policy". If Russia is the cat's ass of the world and the west is evil, why aren't you living there right now? If my attacks are the arguments of a 12 year old, your "rebuttal" is that of a 10 year old, you haven't debated my points. I have been on this board a lot longer and I'm as respectful as the next poster. I have called you a hypocrite, proved you are a hypocrite, now defend yourself. -

If the West is so evil, corrupt, and seemed destined to fail, why in all that is holy did you move to Toronto from Russia? If Russia is such a shining beacon of light to the rest of the world and the West including the country your taking residence in is so evil why aren't you filing immigration papers to Russia and buying a plane ticket? You like to take all the benefits a western lifestyle has given you and not only not appreciate it, flat out condemn it. You sir are a hypocrite. There are hundreds of thousands of immigrants on a waiting list who would give their right arm to come to the west and appreciate it, but we're stuck with this. Do our immigration system a favor and leave so someone who actually wants to be here can live here. -
Pope John Paul II didn't defeat the communist regime either, he made them look like a joke. Harper is in effect doing the same thing. Come on this is Harper, we all know good and well he'll take pot shot after pot shot at people he doesn't like. And judging by the reaction from the Chinese, it's mission accomplished. A trade war with China wouldn't hurt us much, they have a large booming neighbour next door. The quicker India gets up and running, the better off the world is. The last thing China wants is a trade war, if no country buys their goods, they are up the creek without a paddle. There's lots of poor countries to pop up factories for cheap goods, there isn't a lot of Countries with Canada's resources.
-
Of course it's achieving what he wants. Harper believes China is a crock. He's calling them on it and bringing it to everyone's attention and is doing it well and efficiently. If his actions are helping to turn the gears inside the chinese people's heads that communism is not a good thing and should be stopped, shouldn't he be praised for that? The chinese wanted to put on this show and make a splash, they even went to extreme lengths to try and make themselves look good, Harper threw a monkey wrench in that plan. You even said that the Chinese are very upset with him. It appears to everyone that Chinese mentality is that the world needs China so China can do whatever it wants; Harper is waving his middle finger at China because there are other big economies to do business with. Harper has succeeded in taking China down a peg, bravo.

The Olympics is big business. People will spend money to be entertained. Somehow the Olympics ended up being the granddaddy of all sport spectacles. The amount of money spent and generated by the games is tremendous. Done smartly, an olympic games can make a country a pile of money. If that skill helps companies etc. sell products, is that skill useless? The American gov't as far as I know don't spend much money on their atheletes. As far as I know the Olympics are language in helping a country determine its prestige.

Why, the pig plant it's replacing smelled worse.

If that executive makes the company a few million or billion on the size of the company, he's entitled to that share. Anybody can turn a wrench and press buttons, not everyone can run a company. It's perched but not falling in. Since we have diversified away from manufacturing, we'll be fine.

NWO also votes for Liberals pretty solid as well.

My mistake, I was referring to the more "grunt" work on the list. Farmer, logger, fishermen, or roofers don't really take 6 months of courses before they go out and work especially emphasizing safety. Most farm kids I know have their "training" of being put on the machine and figuring out how it works and practicing. Safety training is being told "don't f*** around or you'll get killed" The people who work at the grain terminals get a lot more safety training. Same goes for loggers, given a chainsaw and told to pay attention to watch out for trees. As for the pilots and apprentice jobs, no argument there.

If we isolate Canada our economy goes in the toilet. Our country's economy and your prized social programs are dependant on the revenue generated from our exports. We can produce almost all of our goods inside of Canada when factory workers realize that demanding 70,000 a year is a good way to kill industry. Planet's ecosystems have been dying for 4.5 billion years and will die for 4.5 billion more.

I don't believe in isolating China, I'm saying Harper can do what he wants, so can the Chinese. Harper I think has met with Chinese leaders, not in China though. Your right it is a bilateral relationship, Harper can call out the Chinese on human rights and snub them, and the Chinese can call Harper an arrogant ass and snub our Olympics in return. But both countries benefit greatly from each other, Canada likes it's cheap goods and China likes our primary resources, which is why I think nothing trade related will happen. Another example is Trudeau with the Americans in the 70's, how badly did the Americans punish us for having a good relationship with Fidel Castro?

I think that's great, it will help out in the long term as they are killing like crazy now to avoid feeding. It's also great for providing some jobs in Winnipeg. I hope it stays in business, it's also good due to the failing of Rancher's Choice. Anything that helps get the bloated cattle population down is a good thing. The fact that city people are paying an arm and a leg for meat when there is a flooded cattle market is ridiculous. As for Angus meat, it's getting diluted and seems to be a fad. The way to tell at a restaurant is to order an angus steak and a regular steak of the same cut. Angus should have more fat, and it's got the "marbled texture", should be more tender and tasty. I wouldn't be surprised if stores bs'd a person about that, you'd have to be a conniseur or a butcher to tell the difference. As for the buffalo burger, it's not going to be tasty. Buffalo's don't go to the feedlot and are almost all grass fed. Buffalo is going to be more lean "healthy" burger. As for telling an Angus burger from a regular cow burger, there's no way in telling from where I'm standing, it all goes through the meat grinder and ground beef looks like ground beef. I'd say it depends on the chef cooking the damn thing, burgers can be good or they can be crappy depending how good the chef is.

There is a change, the price of a 1/2 ton in the auto trader is evidence for me. Also driving around Winnipeg there is less and less trucks around.
