I speak some French. I am an anglophone. I've studied French, and I own a property in a bilingual area of Canada but I spend an equal or greater amount of time in a very anglo area of Canada. I spent a few weeks in the Kamouraska area of Quebec. I've also spent time in Franco Ontario. I think what the Franco Ontarians have is wonderful and more support needs to go out to them and other Franco groups throughout Canada, likewise the Anglo portions of Canada need to embrace French because it really is a blessing on Canada, and the erosion of French from Canada is a highly unfortunate occurrence, it lowers Canada's capacities and stature. French is a gateway to history, it is also an affront to the Americanization of Canada, and a protection for Canada from Canadian culture being diluted by America. America weilds too much influence on Canadian culture and by that controls on our freedom, as culture is self identity, and creates the boundaries of our liberty, it is vital to protect our Canadian heritage, and French is one gatewateway to acheiving that. Canadien culture is something that is being turned against itself, and that is unfortunate, together we stand strong, divided or subjected we are nothing. I spend 2-3 months each year isolating myself from anything but French books, news, radio etc.. or having a majority of French media sources. Although it is not perfect isolation, and can be improved on, this is how I go about improving my French. I also read articles in both French and English throughout the year, supplementing my news with French news sources when I want an alternative view. (Much like I read Spanish news before I travel to Spanish speaking countries or when I want an alternative view on a subject, to dilute the sole sourced propaganda)

The difference between a baggage handler and stewardess strike as opposed to a pilot strike is much different. Pilots can pay the fines or lawyers to fight the fines, baggage handlers, postal workers and stewardesses don't get paid nearly as much as pilots. Pilots can move even if the government puts legislation to the same extent in. They are also small in number of and highly skilled. They would kill Air Canada, the Conservative Party is risking the airline in interfering. All it takes is one overstressed pilot to fly their plane into sussex drive or parliament and there you have it. There is a clear issue ongoing since it is a plethora of job actions at air Canada, there is something in the future of the airline staff. Air Canada is not a monopoly there are other airlines to fly, I don't see how stopage the this single company constitutes stoppage for the economy when there are alternative (and often lower cost) flights. Forcing people back to work does not resolve the issue it only amplifies it. This is why the conservatives and the Labour minister are clearly wrong in how they are going about these things. People should understand that there are issues and book on alterntive airlines, they should not expect uninterrupted air service, and should look into the solvency and operational issues of an airline before booking if their trip is important to go as schedule. Also the government hiring partisan adjudicators is very unethical. http://www.thestar.com/business/article/1146322--canada-post-lisa-raitt-s-new-arbitrator-in-labour-dispute-ran-twice-for-tories?bn=1 There can be no expectation of due and fair process when the man has clear ties to the corporation - having previously been their representative, as well as also previously been a candidate for the Conservative Party. It is clearly not a reasonable selection for the role of a neutral unbiased arbitrator. The guy is a walking conflict of interest. I am very surprised the union did not find this issued. "Dufort's name was on a short list of names of potential bilingual arbitrators put forward by the union in November 2011" Very surprising they would put forward a candidate for the party that created the legislation that forced them to arbitration, in what they consider illegal and a violation of their rights.

Canada should have acccess to recouperate funds based on program delays, the US gets to. None the less Canada can still buy in, they have pushed it back so far, the only real option Canada has is to build there own jets, and see if the industry that is being downsized due to the f35 issue can be picked up by the ARROWII. If they are already geared to buliding parts for the f35 they should have no problem building parts for the CF-210 (ArrowII) - the open source second generation Interceptor Jet by Canadians for Canada. -

unless they have a prohibited substance on their person. Just like people with machine guns arn't criminals except for the fact they possess machine guns. Or just cause someone has explosives in their undies doesn't make them a terrorist, much like someone with a key of cocaine up their front isn't a drug traffiker, as an alternative chastity belt. Maybe they are just kinky with more money than they know what to do, or are cocerned with safety. Right.. The issue thought that many drugusers are casual users or recreational users not addicts. The term addict is thrown around a lot but very few are actual addicts. Lots for instance college kids are experimental, by the time they turn 30 they will have moved on to booze and the odd joint perhaps. It is pervasive not a special case. just because someone does drugs it does not mean they are an addict, an addict is someone who is too weak to quit, it is a psychological weapon, no one is truely an addict, they just have different priorities Very few people do not do some form of drug from coffee, to alchohol to pot, to others. -
An american might ask, why isn't Canada still in Afghanistan.. oh right they are... Why is Canada still in Afghanistan Tilter? Why are Canada's war materials - the ones that didn't come back filled with sand an rock still in afghanistan A MUCH better question.. replace trainers with "forces", since if you are out in the field and in a combat zone you better beleive when push comes to shove you arn't there sitting on your hands. http://www.ottawacitizen.com/MacKay+vows+keep+Canadian+trainers+Afghanistan+despite+upheaval/6296894/story.html 950 soilders is still a large presence, that is 1/60th of canada total military combat forces of that sort. Canada only really cut its forces to 1/2 or 1/4 what they were at their peak, not much of a change. Recall how the equipment didn't come home... only rocks and sand... where did it go? http://www.huffingtonpost.ca/2012/01/10/canadian-forces-theft-rocks_n_1197739.html these are much bigger issues to discuss. and http://www.montrealgazette.com/cars/Afghanistan+surplus+sold+cheaply+private+firms/6281273/story.html wow they are selling our hard fought tax dollars for a fraction of the cost? Sounds a bit like embezzlement, how much with the 20 billion dollar f35's cost 10 15 dollars? Nobody wants them right.. but if there are still 950 soldiers in Afghanistan why would tehy sell this equipment that could have been used by the remaaining forces... but $40,000 worth of computers for $250 give me a break. Medical supplies are still very much a potential need, likewise many of the other items could have been used for training purposes. The logistics don't seem to work out, you probably could have sold them on ebay for more. I have no doubt in my mind more of this equipment could have been flown out, or carried out. Example taking out the computer boards and leaving the cases if required.. those boards could have been reused. If they were laptops likewise 950 soilders can carry 950 laptops if not 1900 laptops when they leave, assuming more don't die before the 'training' mission ends. $21,000 sound system for $105 --- once again why wasn't this moved for training or use by the 950 remaining soldiers? A $21,000 sound system is not a simple stereo.

Asset for the non ignorant. Bilingualism is an asset, it opens up doors for people. It is unfortunate so many people are ignorant and uneducated. People who do not engage both languages are shirkers of their civic responsibility to build a whole Canada. People have the right to engage society as they wish, but it is a failure not to engage all parts of society. French Society is a large part of Canadian Society, alienation of the French is alienation of 1/5th of what makes you Canadian. would you forget to care for 20% of your body, what are you without arms, or a head?

To a large extent I agree but the government ought to insure that misinformation, or and acts like sales fraud, and faulty product are prevented. Likewise the public risk to things like second hand pot smoke, or "forgotten drugs" much like facilitiating access for minors to things like alcohol and cigarettes presents an issue with potentially lethal items such as heroine. There should be a "safe" amount set aside which does not pose a risk of misuse by minors in the case of loss of a given drug. I have seen pot just laying on the street before, I've also seen needles abandoned, resin abandoned, much like I've seen alchohol or cigarettes lost/abandoned. I think however products need to be sold with health risks known... this would apply to drugs put to sale also. Because people can be victimized by alcohol, cigarettes and other drugs without their knowledge of the effects, it is only fair to let people know the negative consequences of their actions. You would perhaps be suprised how little some drug users actually know about the drug they are using, especially when they use it for occasional recreational purposes. A lot of people do drugs for the first time via inadvertent pushing by others, not them going out and actively buying it in a store, that clearly explains the negative consequences of the taking the drug. On the contrary often drugs are marketted based upon their "interesting effects" such a hallucinations or euphoria. I agree individuals should be able to administer their own bodies, but we do have an obligation to insure people are not victimized by the actions of others. Even with it illegal, I'm someone who has encountered a hell of a lot of second hand pot smoke in my life, and I am a non smoker. it is out there even without it legalized, but the whole approach is wrong, it should be a focus on protecting individuals who would be victims not on preventing people from making their own informed choices. Drugs are everywhere and things like omnibus arn't going to stop that, on the contrary it will spread it, as the price of drugs might increase, making it more lucrative to get into the business. If you want to stop illegal drugs you need to turn them into a product sold in stores, with superior safety and quality and pricing that will put street labs out of business, any other approach is just talk. Keeping people in jail longer ain't taking more people off the street. It is more so networking more people together. Selling to minors should be a consideration though, that would hold life in prison. -

Canada could pump out jets every year no problem, they are just horrible managers on this file. They want to rely on private industry that is monopolized, it is incredibly stupid, they need to force development - it is national defence not grocery shopping. I must say though it is a really cool jet, but it is getting dated for the cost. I would be in line of getting a mixed force something low cost like the Nextgen-arrow, some of the bombardier refits, and start procuring F35's when the major purchaseres orders are filled, like a couple wings for US operations. I think relaunching the arrow would be good for national pride - run it as an open source Canadian fighter project... OPEN SOURCE ARROW II. A challenge to produce the lowest costing most effecting fighter jet, using off the shelf products and open source developed technologies. Giving some rewards for the best designs or final contributions. With perhaps 6 months development time before selecting a model, then an aggressive federal program to develop the industry required to pump them out. Forget about letting disconnected ministers roll dice on these things, let the public decide. Let them vote on their favourite design from a list of finalists. -
They have to be made in canada otherwise it is just a ripoff for the taxpayers. If Canada allows itself to continue to be subjected to foreign procurements it is just flushing money down the toilet in an ever increasing inability to create its own self defence. Canada must protect and develop its Military Industrial Complex.

FALSE.. elections Canada told the parties NOT to provide poll information so they were not legitimate, they directly were in opposition to an elections Canada directive.

No, I just suggest those who do not support the principle values of society such as freedom and equality, if they do not leave. Likewise I support crushing peoples skulls with a sledgehammer if they intentionally commit crimes like unsolicited murder, sober aggravated rape, and unnecessitated intentional maiming, on a hypothetical basis of course. The no brainer issues should be obvious to any mature rational and good human. The small issues of micromanagement arn't worth killing people over, only the fundamental issues, as they usually arn't life and death. Actually social aims to give people the freedom of micromanagement of their own lives instead of the government taking 25-70% of their economic assets in fees and taxes imposed on them for daily living. -

Well people deserve the society they want to be reflected in themselves. I'd sooner kill them. It makes things easier to get rid of people who are obstructing a free society. God made us, we die, getting rid of the complications just makes society easier for everyone else. If people are convicted of their beleifs they should move to a society that represents their values. I can't see how people should oppose human rights or freedom of expression. They shouldn't be in a democratic society if they don't support democracy. Sorry no, if it was my choices it would be they leave or die. Resource waste for scum does not benefit us. I'm not going to go out and kill people unlawfully but as a baseline of philosophy, I think we need to recognize we are in a dire global crisis that is only getting worse, we can't screw around no more. Ultimately it is next to impossible to beleive that the Social Party and their values would ever be pushed above the NDP, CPC, and LIBERALS, OR EVEN GREEN OR BLOC, but supporting beliefs and understanding that saving 10 lives is worth killing one monster over, I have no moral qualms. They are aspects of social justice. I don't thin there should need to be a tribunal, I believe in courts, and all these extra special courts are just a way of delegitimizing the process - we just need one level of courts, and a justice system that upholds principled law, and natural justice. We need to insure our laws also conform to that. These are not difficult concepts to recognize but we need good judges and transparent laws. Free speech should only be limited by working contrary to the good of society or attacks against individuals so as to damage society or to degrade another individuals liberty. Things like spreading false information needs to be stopped. Those who do not support values of freedom are a cancer and must be eradicated. -

MACKER replied to Liberator.'s topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Social Justice is about insuring that people get treated fairly. The Social Party is not socialist, it is libertarian. Social Justice is about giving everyone the same power in society. No one who doesn't support human rights and free speech should have a tongue to speak. Social's initiatives for instance are about expanding citizens rights to close the gap between police powers - the police state - and the regular citizen. Society is innately socialist, when matched between an egalitarian society and a police state people must side with an egalitarian society, because they do not exist in a police state - the police state is the society - so why enslave part of a lawful society, why not support freedom for all who do not threaten society? Where libertarnianism is fully expressed everyone who is part of society is free, in a police state only the police are free if at all. canada is meant to be a free and democratic society, not a totalitarian policestate under single party rule that it has slowly become. We must liberate society with Social Justice, egalitarinism, and support of the fundamental human rights Canada turned away from in 2001. To fail to do so will only further entrench the totalitarian police state we are subject to today. It is unfathomable to think 10 years ago the closest thing to torture Canada supported was pepperspraying protesters, now they outright support human rights abuses and war crimes and war criminals. It is unthinkable. True the military may have done some human rights abuses in Yugoslavia and Somalia but prior that there was a relatively respectful country. Our fathers and grandfathers fought for freedom, yet what we have now is the same principle states as would be controllers of our lands, those same lands they fought to prevent totalitarians and fascists from controlling, and exerting their evils upon the people. Now our government is filled with those values, and it is a dishonor to them. We must strive to ensure freedom and democracy for our lives and the lives of our progeny lest they be subjected to a machine existence of slavery and soul destitution. -

You sound like you support many of the same issues as the Social Party. They are for Social Justice, Electoral Protections, Justice System Reforms, Eradication of Poverty, and Direct Democracy. They are also for removal of the public debt, removal of income taxes, and giving the people their economic say back into how their money is spent. -

Dude the british already did it you just need to swap the engine and insure the structure can take high mach roughly 3 or so. What is so "imposible" about that? Fact is Bombardier built British Military Jets, so saying they have no experience in military equipment is a false statement do you not read my links? Bombardier Jets flew during the recent Libya mission in a critical mission capacity. They just need a better engine and they are well suited for EWACS and AESA roles and can also with a stronger engine be complimented with hardpoints. Just sort out a good L/D ratio and good enough jobs in canada, Canadian jet the Aero 2 a story of success. What more could you ask for? They built the arrow 50 years ago, is it for some reason not capable to build something better half a century later, get real. My gosh rich people would love to be on a military jet that offers supersonic flight for commericial transport. It is a seller. the miitary is gonna need the flight hours anyway. Might as well make them into a posh air service for executives and the other rich. cover the fuel costs or something. onventional turbo and ramjet engines are able to remain reasonably efficient up to Mach 5.5 -

And the snowmobile took a little time too. But look what we have now. They can build a plane, You are defeatist... anyone can go it alone and sacreblu if you disagree as it is words of a zombie. It really doesn't matter 6th generation sltealth aerospace combat platforms are no brainers to build. It is just who gets the money. Ask any given aerospaceengineer worth their salt to build a combat jet and they should be able to pull it off over aweekend if you supply some coffee and donuts. -

The real trick now is a made in Canada model that will be rapidly developed for a fraction of the cost of the f35. #1. Bombardier Aerospace What more could you ask for in a stealth fighter bomber? Bomb bard dier... " Mach 2 + "Avro Arrow" Do the NEXTGEN ARROW THE BOMBARDIER ARROW! put some of this stuff on it http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Plasma_stealth throw on a couple missile racks... DONE. Unit cost C$3.5–5 million at 9 billion we could build 1800 BOMBARDIER ARROWS. Toll free. We could go Japanese on our enemy throw in a drone computer system and we'd probably save money on manning them or putting missiles on them which might cost more. Just tip em. PLASMA DEATH ARROWS OF BOMBARDIER. The cost is all R&D we already know how all this stuff works so why the money? surely Canada has a few smart people that can reverse engineer and chuck one of these things on a lear arrow? http://www.selexgalileo.com/EN/Common/files/SELEX_Galileo/Press_Releases/Backgrounders/07Vixen_radar_Backgrounder.pdf plasma selex 5000 arrow revise engine pump op the speed a bit. http://www.avbuyer.com/aircraft/detailed.aspx?aId=29829&Cat=Business-Jets&seo=Bombardier/Global%205000 advanced ai autopilot They could run commercial during peacetime.. lower the operating cost and and maybe even make more money than aircanada. heck any old plane that has a mach 3 engine can run intercept.. just have some Peacekeeper II's standing by if they really want to fight. who needs to overflight hostile countries when cruise missiles exist? Look at what the british did with it http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Raytheon_Sentinel The point is Canada could build a sufficient made at home system keep all the money in Canada and see 15% cost savings on what they spend, and help build Canada's aerospace industry. Just require all technology and materials to be made in canada, source in Canada. It will be good for the economy. The key to a solid defence is nukes and lots of them http://www.fas.org/nuke/guide/usa/icbm/lgm-118.htm The US tunnels under windsor etc.. can be used for more uses now... http://www.fas.org/nuke/guide/usa/icbm/rgmx_01.jpg Underground peacekeeping railroad and nuclear armagedon... SCREW STREATH or plasma coat the bomb. A spoon full of plasma helps he medicine go down. ARROWS AND NUKES.. it is the best 21+ billion Canada can spend on aerospace defence.. they don't call it it arrowspace for nuttin. -
If the law was ascented, how can they stager a law, once it is law it is law. all I can say is how can you stager the implementation of a bill once it is passed and becomes law? is there something I'm missing here? Is this another one of them, Harper's Election Law thing - it only applies when I want it too laws. where is the staggered coming into force provision in this thing? http://www.parl.gc.ca/HousePublications/Publication.aspx?Docid=5124131 right at the very end.. This Part comes into force on a day to be fixed by order of the Governor in Council. Ok so the bill has passed but the law hasn't been implemented. Interesting... well make this law within 100 days but we won't act on it for... ???? how many days months or years ever? is ther a reason you didn't immediately start cracking down on pedaphiles? compromise on minimum sentences "8. The court is not required to impose a minimum punishment unless it is satisfied that the offender, before entering a plea, was notified of the possible imposition of a minimum punishment for the offence in question and of the Attorney General’s intention to prove any factors in relation to the offence that would lead to the imposition of a minimum punishment." So, its not a minimum sentence unless we say it is and the attorney general wants it that way..

They should cut the tax rebates for donations too, I don't want to pay for someone elses donation to a political party.. cut all funding not just the stuff you don't get 2-5x as much from the public for. it is a little corrupt when you keep the unequal - we will subsidize to the maximum contribution for everyone who has money to donate but we won't subsidize based on an equal amount per vote. What type of fascist class discrimination is that? my gawd talk about uncouth and non representative. Some people don't have money to donate or don't want to donate, why should we be paying for people who are partisan hacks so we can give them tax write offs for their tax write offs.. examples albertans have higher per capita incomes likewise places like bc and toronto have high costs of living... financial earnings and disposable income differ accross the country so why should be subsidizing people who have money to throw away. Donations to parties should not be subsidized by the public NO MORE TAX DEDUCTIBLE DONATIONS TO POLITICAL PARTIES THE PER VOTE SUBSIDY IS A SMALL FRACTION OF FORCED SUBSIDIZATION OF POLITICAL PARTIES BY THE PUBLIC FOR PERSONAL INTEREST AND PARTISAN INTEREST! IT IS CORRUPTION AND EXTORTION, AND MORALLY A FORM OF EMBEZZLEMENT BY THE POLITICAL PARTIES WHO SUPPORT TAX SUBSIDIES FOR THEMSELVES AND THEIR SUPPORTERS! CORRUPT AND WRONG! Torries axed the 30% MORE FUNDS per vote subsidy and kept the 200% more funds to their party at the cost of the taxpayer subsidy. GET RID OF THEM ALL NOT JUST THE ONE THAT OTHER PARTIES GET MORE FROM. The measure is specifically aimed at the block, and green party -- it is corrupt and wrong. KILL ALL PUBLIC SUBSIDIES TO POLITICAL PARTIES!

We need to reinstitute slave labour for things like that. -
Well we don't know that the tories could have rigged the riding by funneling in voters from other parts of Toronto. Apparently there were some reports of irregularities with riding stacking by conservatives floating around. With only 2000 votes seperating 40,000 votes that type of riding stacking would be completely plausible. Unfortunately voter fraud is not able to be tracked with the ballot system Canada uses.. We know conservatives are morally baseless when it comes to election law so it is more likely than not.

Odd since hashish got its names from the hashishan assasins, and hash is made from pot. Sorry that is just a myth: the name 'Assassin' is often said to derive from the Arabic Hashishin or "users of hashish",[1] to have been originally derogatory and used by their adversaries during the Middle Ages. However Amin Malouf states that "The truth is different. According to texts that have come down to us from Alamut, Hassan-i Sabbah liked to call his disciples Asasiyun, meaning people who are faithful to the Asās, meaning 'foundation' of the faith. This is the word, misunderstood by foreign travelers, that seemed similar to 'hashish' He describes how the "Old Man of the Mountain" (Sabbah) would drug his young followers with hashish, lead them to a "paradise", and then claim that only he had the means to allow for their return. You don't think stoners play war games for nothin. Zombie madness, no it is trainin for the war. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hashish Sure the chance of violence is much less with pot than alchohol but both are depressants. -
About the same way I felt before it passed. Why is paper suppose to make me safer somehow? Safer now that people don't need to say who they give their guns to? Did that kill the registry thing happen yet? None the less, it only makes me think criminals are going to do something worth atleast the minimum now, to get their times worth. So it will be like well if I'm growing I might as well punk some people off too. Well if I'm getting hit for molesting I guess I can abduct them too. Yeah cause the criminal code did so much to stop crime? Or what the purpose of an omnibus bill so you could roll the thing up and hit people over the head with it rather than give them paper cuts? Now they have semesters instead of trips to jail Its like crime one get one free.
