Imagine, having students working (well ok, striking) in a small room.....with little sleep, no lattes or Itunes. No wonder they eventually became "duped" We, as a just society, should not tolerate such blatent oppression.

A few things.... Have traveled in S.E Asia for 20+ years. Was in Indonesia, watching students taking to the streets, against Suharto. They were protesting for the right to have free political parties....in the face of a totally oppressive dictatorship. The Quebec tuition "protesters" certainly have a perfect right to protest as they see fit - but they perhaps need to get back to classes....and gain some better insight into the whole concept of "oppression" In this case, by "striking"....exactly what "services" are the students currently witholding from their neighbourhoods, communities, or for that matter, the general society? Perhaps this is one more concept, that needs further learning.

Bob may be simply biding his time......until a new executive changes the rules....enabling ole Bob to enjoy all of the built-in advantages of the interim leadership, in order to crush the other candidates. A couple Liberal MP's are already making noise about not trusting Rae, in this matter.....

The Liberals need to: 1. Take a hard look at the Apps, Herles, Smiths, Reids, etc......the so-called Liberal "brain trust", who have shaped previous tactics and electoral strategies - and chop a few heads. 2. Have a real party leadership convention with one member - one vote....the convention they should of had in 2006. 3. Have the policy convention, they were going to have in 06, with an eye to figuring out actual direction for the party - and for god's sake...don't call it a "thinkers conference" 4. Don't rely on _______mania, Iggy, Trudeau or whoever - to bail out the party fortunes. 5. Quit acting and talking as if anyone who didn't vote for you.... is somehow uneducated, short-sighted or simply delusional

What the Grits really need to do is take a very hard look at Apps, Herle, Smith, Reid, etc - the great stratigic brain trust, for the last number of elections - and ask some pretty hard questions.....

Plenty of people have attempted to "take down" Harper and ensure that his "time is up".....with rather disapointing results...

Have listened to JT speak, a number of times. He simply needs a lot more time.... Be interesting to see if the Liberals manage to restrain themselves long enough, to give him the time. Time to really rebuild the party, and bypass the shortcuts and gimmicks....

What Mulcair and some other Dippers really need to realize..... is that they are actually the Official Opposition of Canada now....this isn't Babble. Poking the Americans in the eye, simply for the sake of wanting to do it...is actually pretty counter constructive - for a supposed govenment-in-waiting. For the MSN, this stuff is jam for toast.

Simply work your way backwards.... Kinsella - Rae - Chretien (Desmarais family) You would think Michael I. would be getting the message, by now.....

1. Haven't enlisted in anybody's army - I have voted for more than one party..... 2. Again, to panic at this stage (25-26%)is simply hazardous and misguided..... for the Liberals.... 3. Both the Liberals and NDP are now swearing on bibles, that no talks, at all.. have taken place.... 4. Does anbody think most of the big-city Liberal MP's are really going to follow Jack Layton around as leader? 5. People are to make decisions in polling booths, based on ambiguous and theoretical scenarios, instead of platform/policy? 6. Kinsella and the President of the Liberal Party are now essentially calling each other.....fibbers.... 7. The only person really ranting and insulting anybody, at the moment.....seems to be you.

Whoever,(other than Kinsella)started this stuff.... have lost their minds. The Liberals after 60 years as Canada's "ruling party" are considering throwing up their hands, and merging with the people who they have derided for years, as the "loony left" - under Layton, as leader! All this nonsense is simply throwing the party into even more disarray, and giving the NDP more legitimacy and traction....just before the next election. Brillant. After voting for yet another CON budget (with 30 members getting lost on the way to the house or something) and following the Wizard of Ig's comments....now the plan is for the Liberals to say nothing about a coalition, until after an election....and only attempt to impliment it....if they don't like the result. Real standup approach. Bottom line, is that nothing is wrong with the party, that couldn't be fixed with: A new leader An actual vision and platform, with well articulated policies A real committment to party renewal, from the grass roots up Of course, this would involve ditching the culture of entitlement, no more damn SHORTCUTS, and a willingness to pay whatever short term price has to be paid now - for a much brighter future, down the road.... As far as guts, vision and credibility goes - the Liberals are simply an empty shell, right now....

Martin skimmed 40B+ from UI/EU, and cut 13-15B in transfers to the provinces. Revenue from GST and surplus monies from the FTA (both items that his party swore to eliminate) also helped...... Obviously a financial genius.

Ignatieff is not connecting with men, mice, and minerals either.....

What we now see is the direct result of the Liberal Party, since Martin ... spending years on the "quick fix", as opposed to redefining policy, revamping their funding, connecting to their grassroots, and having ongoing input and debate on party leadership. As a result.....the well is totally empty, with a "appointed" leader, vague promises, and total lack of ideas. Harper has now been in power, long enough that the ole "Hidden agenda" and "troops in the streets" ..... simply will not cut it anymore. Ignatieff's inexperience is really beginning to show, lately...and there are not enough people around him... willing to conceed that the emperor wears no clothes and that the party simply cannot "do better"

Denis Coderre is simply a selfcentered, muckraking, egotistical grubby ward heeler....with serious delusions of grandeur. The Wizard of Ig made his first mistake, by putting this guy in charge in Quebec. The second mistake was not just opening the nomination process, when the issue first surfaced. The third mistake, was the flip flop, after publicly supporting Coderre. Now the Count is keeping Coderre in the caucus, who is in a position to create great mischief (ties to the 63 Lib candidates in the province)....and given Denis's track record.....the mischief will happen, eventually. Interesting, that when the plan to shelve 4 more sitting MPs, including Dion, became public.....not the slightest peep from Ignatieff. Perhaps getting rid of Cauchon AND Dion in one fell swop, had a certain amount of appeal for the Self Anointed One.....although looking around the blogsphere - the left wing of the Liberal party, may have figured this out already. But then Iggy can always take some definitive action.....and put Coderre on "probation" with quarterly report cards to boot.

So this is what the mighty Liberal Party has come to.... Getting led by the nose....and farther to the left by a frantic Bobby Rae, with selfserving advice from ole Jack Layton? Sullying their long federalist history by partnering with separatists....and just fresh off of proposing to have a 70+ seat party, lead by Dion, a guy who was rejected decisively by the electorate, only 7 weeks ago...who practically nobody wants (including most of his own caucus)..... running the country? And now having the "leader" (Rae) appearing more intrangent that Stephen Harper!! Have they utterly lost their minds? Because if the Liberals don't smell the coffee real soon, they will resemble lemmings at the wrong edge of the shore. Wonder what the Lib Ontario MP's are thinking these days....in between reading polls and trips to the bathroom....

So according to Dion: It was Harper's "fault" he lost the election.....uh....really? He will stay around to assist the Liberals.... in overhauling their fundraising and organizational systems! Based on what evidence of expertise in those areas, during the last 2 years? I assume this includes paying off his leadership debt. He had the "right" message and platform.....but Canadians just didn't "understand" Seriously, does any one think that the Rae and Iggy troops are going to be running in place...and pulling the good trooper routine until next May? Good luck with that.

Well, Iggy's style would certainly fit in real well with the overall Liberal "sense of entitlement" and "natural ruling party" delusions.....as he is completely full of himself.... Not sure how picking him... would be distancing themselves from the "right wing", anyways...

This whole business of congratulating seperatists..... on getting elected...is a perfect example of missing the forest for the trees.....
