Age of Consent Hearings Moving Forward
gerryhatrick replied to August1991's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
I wonder what's in it for Svend. Ah. Gays = pedophiles. Very nice betsy. Well? What am I supposed to think? I mean why doesn't EGALE just agree to raise the bloody thing to 16...if equality is truly the issue...and not the license to diddle 14 year old boys? And lower? Why do they insist on opening the doors for the pedophiles? To think that they'd want to erase the shadow of NAMBLA. This "odd" reaction of EGALE only strengthens my suspicion that NAMBLA is still very much around....hiding under the skirts of EGALE. I didn't realize there was a NAMBLA shadow on gays. And I haven't seen any doors opening for pedophiles in the legitimate objections raised by opponents. Oh well. -

Not surprising. The oilsands are ruining Alberta's environment.

Scientists Blame Sun for Global Warming

Shoggath, some people will never be able to face what's happening. Nothing you post will help with that. -
Opposition MPs Using the Troops AGAIN

I invite the board admin to read my PM (what was it, one, two?) to you and if it was obscene I welcome a banning. You are not free to lie about other posters here killjoy. -
Opposition MPs Using the Troops AGAIN
gerryhatrick replied to scribblet's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
I'm the poster so I can confirm that this is indeed what I meant. Yes, there are security concerns but I suspect there might be other motives as well. That's all I was implying. I wish everyone would lighten up a bit so that we could exchange arguments without getting personal and stressed. Second that. -

I did not start a fight. I pointed out quite calmly and politely that the poster did not say what you claimed he said. And anyone would ask for some moderation after the your behaviour in this topic. -

As pointed out numerious times by you guys the security concerns are real, not an "excuse". Something being real does not preclude it from being used as an "excuse". Maybe you're not aware of the zero tollerance policy in effect. I guess we'll see if it has any bite in light of these extreme and profane personal attacks on me. -
It's a UN climate conference in Nairobi. I wouldn't expect it's packed with locals. Just the type of audience they need to spin a yarn of nonsense to, and which by the way, it's non of their business. Ambrose should be telling them to shove it, get on the next plane and come home. I would love to see her do that.

Opposition MPs Using the Troops AGAIN

No, the poster claimed that security concerns were a false reason or hard to believe reason....after all the times you guys come here to yak about security concerns in Afghanistan....which is exactly what I said Bobo. Just STFU, ok gerry? You're little more than a Bot around here. We're all too aware of your complete inability to understand plain english without using your special "translations"..... . The poster did not say there were no security concerns in Afghanistan, which is what you claimed: What the poster did suggest was that "security concerns" were not the real reason that some people are being denied access into Afghanistan. -

Yes it is what he said. Now all of a sudden the idea that there could be security concerns is declared a fake when complaining about security is all you guys ever do.. The poster did not say there were no security concerns in Afghanistan. If you continue to make that claim then you will demonstrate clearly the type of poster you are. -
I know we're not supposed to engage in third party insults, but this guy is so far out to lunch it's hard to abide by that. The insanity of having someone who has called Global Warming a "hoax" as Chairman of the Environment & Public Works committee is beyond understanding. Good riddence to this man. He has endangered us all.

Stephen Harper using the troops AGAIN.
gerryhatrick replied to gerryhatrick's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Whatever it is it's not the big scary fight as the media keep trying to portray it. The media is not "trying" to do anything other than report the reality. The situation on the ground is changing, and some reports have portrayed the fight as expanding beyond the Taliban. That may be the reality, or it might not. Those reports were limitted to a single source, although they have field offices throughout Afghanistan. Let's just stay tuned. -

Then what about the "House of Commons multi-party defence committee and the Senate multi-party national security committee" referred to above? Why are they blocked? Because they had no business there. I'm sorry Argus, that is just a silly statement. -
Stephen Harper: Closet U.S. Democrat
gerryhatrick replied to normanchateau's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
It is gratifying to hear those words spoken by somebody who is respected by many Liberal supporters in Canada. Perhaps Clinton's comments will give them cause to reassess their feelings about the Afghan mission. -k Where did you get the misguided idea that Liberals and their supporters don't agree with what Clinton said? It's pretty much common sense. Then why do they keep bitching and whining about our role there? I have never heard a single Liberal or Liberal supporter say anything which contradicts what Clinton said. -

I was being facetious. This is a political forum, not comedy hour. Unless there is a forum rule or guideline precluding being facetious, I will do so when I choose. I didn't say you couldn't be facetious. A strong argument could be made that this topic is in violation of the "POSTING CONTENT" rule section. -

Elton John denounces organized religion
gerryhatrick replied to theloniusfleabag's topic in Moral & Ethical Issues
That is the kookiest thing I've heard in a very long time. Can I ask, are you a heterosexual? Dear Gerry, Rather than diverting the issue, is homosexuality a lifestyle, a condition, a disease, what is it, or what do you think it is? BTW, do you like hockey? A hat trick is a three goal night. Is there any signifigance to the number three for you? I wasn't diverting the issue, your answer was central to my point. But, if you're unwilling to answer I will make the point without. Whatever your sexual orientation/lifestyle is, do you believe you could choose to begin having erotic sex with a gender opposite to what you are currently attracted to? This is a fundamental question that the "homosexuality is a choice" croud cannot answer truthfully, because a truthful answer would demonstrate the falseness of their belief. -

Don't feel bad. There's no rule against starting multiple threads about religion in the religion section of the forum. -

LOL! Oh - now all of a sudden there are no security concerns in Afghanistan! Another fine example of blatant dishonesty and clumsy spinning. Hilarious and pathetic. . Settle down. That is not what the poster said, not in the least.
