  1. From the latter part of your post I think you know the answer to the initial questions you're asking. Yes, it is income. They are saying it's not income from their perspective in the sense that you're not going to get a T4, but that only means you're acting like a private contractor. If they were audited they would report that they paid you that money, although the chances of that are slim. No, your bank account isn't being watched. And yes, EI would expect you to report that money to them.
  2. http://www.winnipegfreepress.com/breakingn...p-4349323c.html While I would disagree with Klein that that's not the "only thing wrong" with Harper (am I allowed to have that opinion? ) I totally agree with him on this media obsession Harper has. Recall Harper using the occasion of a state visit to Vimy Ridge to say to the French Prez "the enemy carried guns, not cameras". That was a telling comment, indicating his fear/paranoia of the media. He should listen to Mr. Klein's advice.
  3. Argus posted a topic which was critical of the media. Yes, he mentions that there's a new story out, but he does not link it and it is not the central theme of his topic. The central themes of his topic is to critisize the media, and to critisize Europe and the Liberals over Kyoto. As I've sayd cyber, you can bring this situation up with mods if you wish. Greg has already stated that if a news item is mentioned in a topic then a subsequent posting of that news item as it's own topic is not cross posting. You can see that here: http://www.mapleleafweb.com/forums//index.php?showtopic=6849 thx.
  4. No, of course not. But Canadians should be aware that their PM is cancelling out of a Canada-EU summit and BS'ing about his reasons for doing so. Why not go? He didn't have to "abide by their dictations", as you say, so why not go and be a good ally instead of cancelling a month in advance? Because he's scared of being chided over Kyoto, that's why.
  5. I have responded to cyber about that in post 4. Please respect that fact and either question if this is a cross post in the topic related to cross posting or contact the mod privately. thx.
  6. Regarding the topic: If the reason for not going to this summit is because of the "fragile minority status" of the Harper government, then why is he going to attend end-of-the-month trade talks in Hanoi at about the same time? Is it hateful to point this out? The media has noticed it, and it's a legitimate point and question. Based upon this evidence, it seems quite apparent that he's avoiding this summit for reasons other than the fragile minority status of his gov't, no?
  7. To ban a poster based on complaints is unreasonable. Agreed. One particular poster has admittedly complained to the mod about me a lot, and often the complaints are not legitimate (based on the public complaints). I suspect it's a daunting job to go and inspect all of the posts surrounding such complaints to get the full context and recognize that the complainer is not raising anything valid or requiring action.
  8. The poll included a day prior to the announcement. The day of the announcement, I wouldn't expect any blip at all. I would wait for another poll before making any conclusions about the impact of the income trust decision.
  9. True Gerry but I think it is fair to say that many, if not most of us now look at you as a one trick pony and as a result it's getting more and more difficult to take you seriously. And I would expect such a comment from people who support Stephen Harper. I don't support him, and thus I will post any and all legitimate news that emerges regarding him. I also post on Global Warming, which I believe is the #1 issue we face. That ties in to my non-support of Harper, who I beleive thinks of Global Warming as just a political issue he needs to navigate around. Greg has said it before so I'll repeat it: off-topic personal banter is not appreciated on the forum. I am free to post all the news about Harper, with my personal opinion/observations attached (as is the rule). Responding by pointing out that I post on Harper a lot is off-topic personal banter.
  10. 15+ million Afghani women perhaps. Well, why don't we turn over the reigns of our foreign policy to them then!
  11. First anti-Harper thread of the day .... Gerryhatrick! First double-post of a thread topic of the day ... Gerryhatrick! Most annoying Harper hater who needs to get over it ... Gerryhatrick! 3 for 3 buddy. Good work. Poster most likely to get banned for being a troll ... Ricki Bobbi! The thread is critical of Harper, yes. That is not a crime...it's actually part of something called democracy. It's legitimate critisism. Stop crying like a baby about anything critical of your precious PM and leave me the hell alone. Cyber, thankyou for pointing it out I hadn't seen it. EDIT: Cyber, I don't see that as being the same article or same story, so I'm leaving this up. If you think it's a cross post, there's a topic regarding cross posting in the support and questions forum that greg answers to, or you can report it. thx.
  12. Global Warming is supposed to top the agenda at this summit. Is there really any doubt he's skipping it for that reason? It's perfectly in line with the avoidence technique he so often uses (i.e. the media)
  13. I apologized for that and placed the polling info in the polls thread. Hit the wrong button when I originally posted this. No need to apologize, I was kidding. It's a new poll, and you can post a new thread. There is no thread that all polls need to be posted to. He shouldn't you anti-Harperistas work together in forming a united front? Good contribution ... as usual Gerry. No different than your stupid accusation of bias Mr. Ricki. And how about you stow the name-calling. People on this board are beyond sick of it.
  14. I hope you're not suggesting the moderator should step in when someone accuses Peter Mackay of lying about the Stronach comment/gesture?
  15. I apologized for that and placed the polling info in the polls thread. Hit the wrong button when I originally posted this. No need to apologize, I was kidding. It's a new poll, and you can post a new thread. There is no thread that all polls need to be posted to.
  16. Do you consider that to be contributing to the thread in some way? Yes I do. I really don't think her voice is relavent to the issue of whether negotiations with the Taliban are performed or not. And for her to come out and lobby for isolation demonstrates that she is not a thoughtful participant in the narrative anyway. Insisting that you won't talk to a group is an idiotic approach.
  17. Besides the accusation of bias, shouldn't we also be complaining about cross posting? There are other topics already existing for polls. /sarcasm
  18. That's kind of sad, Gerry. What is the ball? And you ask me! If you don't know what the ball is, or you don't where it is, forget my advice. Just go for Harper, the guy. Play the man, not the ball. What's sad is your silly games. I stated: Harper has tried to rule like he has a majority, and he is losing points on environment, transparency, wheat board, income trusts, .... That is "the ball".
  19. Who cares what she says.
  20. This is not a Federal Political topic. Everyone suports the troops.
  21. Harper has tried to rule like he has a majority, and he is losing points on environment, transparency, wheat board, income trusts, .... Do tell though...what do you believe the ball is in your analogy (if we can call it yours)?
  22. http://www.thestar.com/NASApp/cs/ContentSe...ol=968350116795 A lot of people are fuming over this. It might have been necessary, but you cannot escape that a promise was made and broken. Perhaps Harper shouldn't have been so impudent to make the promise in the election. If anyone made money during this sell-off it should be investigated.
  23. http://www.missioncityrecord.com/portals-c...63330&more= Not really all that astonishing, really. The lad has tried to rule like he had a majority, and in the process managed to remind Canadians why they don't trust him.
  24. A pro-India stance? Are you kidding me? This topic is just plain goofy.
