I think the Liberal's will get a minority government. Ontario is once again buying the idea that the Liberal's are the only party with the god given right to govern. Then a year from now I truly believe Canadian's will elect the Liberal's to a majority. Is'nt it a bit strangen that the Liberal's have turned it around by scapegoating Albertan's into evil people who want to destroy medicare. Paul Martin is shoving his "Canadian Unity" BS down the Alberta Governments throat which 60% of Albertan's elected. Alberta may soon have a seperatist party come into the legislature in the next provincial election.

Yes, Micheal Moore is all wise, and all powerful. Lets hope that once everybody watches his movie they will be inspired to kill off any opposing the liberal agenda. Jeez, it sounds like the purpose of this movie is to brainwash people.

Alberta and Conservative I am hoping to join up with the Canadian Armed Forces and become a Military Policeman. Right now are men and women who are risking their lives for this country are being underfunded severely by the government, and do not have the right equipment. With a conservative government are armed forces will get the equipment we desperately need.

Yeah people on the left don't know anything about taking comments out of context and then showing a view not originally intended . I think that the fact is that Paul Martin and Jack Layton have always been able to find some type of loophole in these child porn laws, if artists want to create something about children getting sexually "liberated" as they call it, then it should be illegal. If I had it my way I would have people that rape, molest children, and murder police officers executed.

Let's remember that the left wingers here probably are the same people that sympathized with the communists in China during the cultural revolution, and the communist's in Cuba and the Soviet Union. He also said that Canada was as bad as nazi germany while at university. Trudeau also sympathized with communists in China, even while millions were being killed. Canada was also a very anti-communist nation before Trudeau came in. When Trudeau was PM he raped our military, brought up a huge debt, alienated the west, and destroyed thousands of jobs in Alberta, and also cheated on his wife. I don't really find Pierre Trudeau somebody to be proud of. I think that the left tends to associate themselves more with the communists in the cold war than with the democracts such as Reagan, and Thatcher, who helped bring an end to communism.

BC will probably vote 50% conservative, before election's it seems that BC is always on the left, but on election night it is a whole different ball game. Yeah the New Democrats did great during their years of power, last time I remember the BC Liberal's were very supportive of Paul Martin. Plus Gordon Campell is not Ralph Klein, or Mike Harris. The thing I liked about Harris was that he did everything he said he was going to do in his party platform. But then again the left still believes that he was the worst thing to hit that province since the New Democrats.

If the NDP had elected Nystrom or Blaikie for one of their leaders they would probably be a major player, and get 50 seats, but they chose the radical alternative and voted in Jack Layton. Paul Martin is a hack, how is it that Liberal's can't realize that Harper's plan is to slow bureacratic growth, and with the saved money re-invest in health care, the military, and tax cuts. If Paul Martin does get elected again, then it will probably be the end of Canada as we know it, he is going on an attitude that its the "good" Canadian's versus the evil "Albertan's". I think that we could possibly see alot of pissed off people in Alberta, and a seperatist party could possibly win seats in the provincial election. When you go on the attitude the only real Canadian's are the one's for gay marriage, high taxes, socially liberal values, anti-Americanism, and high immigration, your bound to piss off a certain region of the country. As for abortion and gay rights, if you want to live in a judicial dictatorship so be it, but about 50% of Canadian's support the traditional definition of marriage, I guess in your view 50% of Canadian's are bigots. I think that I would prefer to see a system similar to the US, were their is one party going centre-left, and one party encompasing the centre-right. This will yield the best results. I think that at the end of this election we could possibly end up with a conservative majority government, and an NDP opposition.

I think that most people were not impressed with Paul Martin's preformance. I also like Jack Layton's poor preformance, its interesting seeing himself dig a deeper hole.

I like how Martin did'nt answer the question on pedophiles rights. Martin always answered a question with another question, Canadian's were'nt impressed. I thought that Harper made a good point when he said a large portion on minority groups are against gay marriage, and Mr Martin has not called them racists or bigots. The fact is that both Paul Martin and Jack Layton have the same thing in common, they both believe that even if unelected judges decided in favor of child pornograhy they would not use the notwithstanding clause to protect children. I'd say that Harper did in fact score some points due to the fact that his french came across very well, I think that Harper will gain some points. However I also tend to agree with BQsupporter that Harper and Layton were tied for second. I also believe that the conservatives and bloc could possibly find a coalition and then find a middle ground for alot of issues, especially if the conservatives win a minority which they probably will. My bet is that Harper will sweep the English debate, and Martin will lose for sure. BQsupporter its great having you on these forums. I think that we could probably find a way for a conservative bloc coalition to work. I think that the bloc must first accept the reality that free votes are a must in the house of commons, and be prepared to work with socially conservative members. Many conservative candidates in Quebec are social progressives.

I think that Harper could possibly gain some points in Quebec, even if he does'nt do as well as the other leaders. I think that Harper could get possibly 15% in the polls their and a few seats. Some ADQ supporters will support the conservatives for sure.

I was talking against balkanization, the fact is that balkanization can become a major problem. For example if people find they have nothing in common with third or more generation Canadian's, than they may shut themselves completely off from other Canadian's. It is a problem, do you ever see mass droves of whites trying to elect only white candidates because they are simply white. It's becoming a problem, especially when politicians feel the need to pander to certain ethnic groups instead of individuals. I meant that when immigrants come here they must abide by our laws, and our democracy. What that means is that no different laws for different ethnic groups. I was refering to the Sharia court being put in place, as well as the different law's some natives are judged under. Unless you fully support balkanization, and people voting for a person simply because of their ethnic background.
