  13. This is from a year a go http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/toronto/story/2011/04/12/fantino-riding-association-resignations.html Two Conservatives have quit their own riding association in Vaughan north of Toronto, accusing incumbent candidate Julian Fantino and the Conservative government of handing $10 million in public funds to a private non-profit group involved in a major health-care development. Richard Lorello, the local Conservative candidate in 2008, says he resigned because a federal grant, announced in March just before the election was called, is earmarked for the Vaughan Health Campus of Care (VHCC), which has two of Fantino's fundraisers as prime backers. "The optics look really rather strange," said Lorello, "that the same people who helped Fantino are the same people [whose non-profit group is] receiving $10 million in government funds."
  14. Here is some more information http://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/story/2012/03/09/pol-fantino-election.html Raised almost $500,000 Fantino raised an impressive amount of money from Conservative supporters for the November 2010 byelection: almost $500,000, so much that there was a surplus. The three former officials allege that Sam Ciccolini, Fantino's fundraising chair, said at a meeting that there was a second bank account that contained more than $300,000. Lorello, who was then a board director of the Vaughan Conservative Electoral Association, had never heard of this money. He immediately resigned. The allegations also suggest that nine Conservative candidates in the last election got money from the Fantino campaign, all perfectly legal if it's filtered through the electoral association or the party, and it's declared. It's not known who those candidates were, or if they received anything. Elections Canada won't say whether it's investigating.
  15. BREAKING BAD SPOILER ALERT, DON'T READ IF YOU WANT TO WATCH THE SHOW This reminds me of Breaking Bad where Walter White is caught in a lie by his wife about a second cellphone and it all goes down hill there.. similar story here, Fantino caught in a lie about having a second bank account.. possibly a third and it's only going to go down hill for him here
  16. I was told to make a new thread for this because it's different than the robocall Let's see to summarize the article Fantino is in deep doggy doo doo http://www.thestar.com/news/article/1144178--elections-canada-urged-to-investigate-fantino?bn=1 Three former members of Vaughan’s Conservative riding association have asked Elections Canada to investigate the campaign finances of Tory MP Julian Fantino. In sworn affidavits filed with Elections Canada, Richard Lorello, Tracey Kent and Carrie Liddy allege that there were irregularities in Fantino’s 2010 by-election and 2011 election campaigns. The three former riding association members allege that Fantino’s fundraising chair, Sam Ciccolini, said at a January 2011 meeting that there was a second bank account belonging to the campaign that contained more than $300,000. It is against election rules to have more than one campaign bank account. A spokesman for Fantino dismissed any idea of wrongdoing. “Any information suggesting the existence of a second election bank account is incorrect,” spokesman Chris McCluskey said in an email. Lorello, who was director of the association when the January meeting took place, alleges that Ciccolini wanted to turn the account into a riding association account without following election rules. “This seemed highly irregular to us,” said Lorello, “because the account had not been audited by Elections Canada.” Lorello claimed the board members never even knew the account existed. “What I want is transparency into this account, he said. “Elections Canada rules are supposed to make financing transparent. This is not transparent.” The group also claims there is a third account — neither a campaign account nor a riding association account — that they know little about. “How much money was put in the third account, when, by who, and how was the money spent?” said Liddy, a Vaughan resident and onetime supporter of former Vaughan mayor Linda Jackson. “We want answers.” Last May, Fantino handily won his Vaughan riding, after winning the seat for the Conservative in a by-election just six months earlier. The former Toronto police chief used a get tough on crime platform to defeat Liberal Mario Ferri. '

  23. http://m.theglobeandmail.com/news/politics/guelph-tory-worker-cancels-meeting-with-elections-canada-investigator/article2365337/?service=mobile On the advice of his lawyer, a key player in the 2011 Conservative campaign for Guelph is refusing to answer more questions from Elections Canada investigators probing fraudulent robo-calls in the riding. Andrew Prescott, the deputy campaign manager for Conservative candidate Marty Burke, has already conducted one telephone interview with Elections Canada investigator Al Mathews. But a source says Mr. Prescott cancelled a face-to-face meeting with Mr. Mathews that had been scheduled for Thursday in Guelph, Ont. His lawyer advised Mr. Prescott against taking the meeting because of intense media focus on his role in the 2011 campaign, the source says. Mr. Prescott’s decision could potentially slow down Election Canada’s efforts in the robo-calls probe but the watchdog has been gathering evidence for months from sources as varied as PayPal and telephone companies.
