  1. The Torys are turning on their own now http://www.cbc.ca/m/touch/news/story/2012/03/09/pol-fantino-election.html Three former members of the Conservative riding association in Vaughan, Ont., are asking Elections Canada to investigate the campaign's finances
  2. Yes, he never set foot in Canada again
  3. Then this database was used to target older citizens if this is true http://www.thestar.com/news/canada/politics/article/1143808--robocalls-older-voters-targeted-by-phony-voting-day-phone-calls-elections-canada-believes?bn=1
  4. http://www2.macleans.ca/2012/03/09/were-older-voters-the-target/ The Star overhears the Elections Canada investigation. “Every single person I’ve contacted has been (born) between 1947 and 1949,” said one unidentified Elections Canada employee who was following up on the complaints Friday morning. The Star inadvertently overheard a number of telephone conversations between the woman and complainants located across the country while a reporter was reviewing election expense records at Elections Canada’s Ottawa offices. The questions put to complainants included the content of the robocall, the date it was received and whether that person was able to recall or record telephone number from which the call came. The final question, of those calls that could be heard by the Star, was for the complainants’ age.
  5. I can't believe everything is by chance, there's an order to things here that can't be explained by saying oops it was an accident! Just look at the sun, if it moved a tiny bit we'd burn up or freeze to death, photosynthesis, animals..look at all of the different kinds of animals..they're all unique and made to adapt perfectly to their environments you're not going to tell me all of that was an accident ..you may believe that because that is what scientists have told you to believe but that doesn't make it so But I also believe humans, animals have evolved I don't see why it can't be a combination of both
  6. nobody can claim the country is moving to the right just because 6 million canadians voted for the conservatives when 8 million canadians voted for the other parties all that does is say more canadians voted for anybody but harper I can't speculate on the 11 million that were eligible to vote but didn't and neither can you
  7. 26% of Canadians voted for the conservatives (they are right wingers) 26 % out of 100% is hardly moving to the right
  8. he also said canadians are moving to the right, which is not true, but hey at least he got himself back in the news
  9. Isn't that how women fight anyway? By grabbing the hair/head area? Just because a woman is wearing a Hijab doesn't make her immune from getting her hair/head pulled. Yes that is borderline assault but that is how women assault other women in the west.
  10. http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/ottawa/story/2012/03/09/ottawa-hijab-pull-kingston.html I can't believe we are having this discussion but I guess it's an issue. It was an assault. No more and no less. First here is the definition of a hate crime in Canada The Criminal Code of Canada says a hate crime is committed to intimidate, harm or terrify not only a person, but an entire group of people to which the victim belongs. The victims are targeted for who they are, not because of anything they have done. A hate crime is one in which hate is the motive and can involve intimidation, harassment, physical force or threat of physical force against a person, a group or a property I still can't see how "pulling" can be designated a hate crime. Does that mean if I pulled on someones Catholic necklace that I am going to be charged with a hate crime? Probably not right? This country has gone politically insane Kingston, Ont., police are asking for the public's help after a woman allegedly pulled on another woman's hijab, which police are calling a hate crime assault. Police said a woman was finishing her grocery shopping at a store around 5 p.m. ET on Jan. 28 when another customer came from behind her and pulled on her hijab. They said the suspect yanked the head covering so hard it forced the victim to bend backward. The suspect then let go and left the store without saying a word. The female suspect is described as Caucasian, slim, about 40 to 45 years old, with long black hair and was with a male companion. Surveillance images of the suspect an associate and the victim can be viewed on the Kingston police website. Anyone with information should contact Kingston police Const. Sean Leblanc at 613-549-4660, ext. 6250 or call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8744.
  11. I don't even answer the phone when I see a number I don't know. If it's someone real they'll leave a message
  12. Well, some conservatives on here were saying that the Conservatives were gay friendly..which they seem to be, allowing gay foreigners to divorce & speaking up against the homosexual oppression in other Commonwealth countries and not repealing Same sex marriage but why would they shun LGBTs from this? This government is so confusing with their messages.. if they are pro gay then be pro gay but don't fricking flip flop http://www.theglobeandmail.com/news/politics/ottawa-notebook/why-did-ottawa-shut-gay-rights-groups-out-of-queens-jubilee-awards-process/article2364656/ Gay-rights groups aren’t among the 168 community organizations invited by the Harper government to nominate Canadians for a prestigious medal marking the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee. Among the list, however, is REAL Women of Canada – a conservative women’s group some critics call homophobic. The saga has left leaders in Canada’s lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community wondering why they were frozen out while REAL Women (which speaks out against “gay-friendly” schools, laments the “highly sexualized gay agenda” and is a frequent intervenor in gay rights court cases) was included
  13. Are you implying that the tricks Conservatives use to win the elections are somewhat unethical or illegal and that is why you don't want the opposition to see?
  14. Sure but the Liberals and NDP "might" have been able to win a few more seats to give Harper a weaker majority
  15. Dude, I don't think Conservatives have any secret information on how to win elections, The Liberals have had no decent leader since the fall of the Liberal government in 2006 and the NDP were always a 3rd rate party until last year due to the popularity boom of Jack Layton The CPC this whole time have been saying they've been cooperating with EC but now we find out that was one huge lie That is going to hurt them
  16. Suppression of Liberal & NDP voters
  17. That isn't a very good defence
  18. http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/story/2011/07/29/f-smoking-statistics.html The percentage of the Canadian population that smokes cigarettes has been dropping steadily since anti-smoking efforts began in earnest in the 1970s. In 1965, 49 per cent of Canadians over the age of 15 smoked. Sixty-one per cent of males smoked while 38 per cent of females indulged in the habit. The latest Statistics Canada figures show smoking rates are fairly stable. In 2010, 20.8 per cent of Canadians aged 12 and over — about six million people — were smokers. Five years ago, there were 5.9 million smokers or 22 per cent of the population. In 2003, 23 per cent of Canadians aged 12 or older, smoked.
  19. This could be an argument for smokers who want to smoke outside http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/prince-edward-island/story/2010/11/22/pei-smoking-children-asthma-584.html Asthma rates are down for young children in Canada, and researchers are crediting reduced exposure to smoking at home as one of the reasons. A Statistics Canada study released last week showed over the last eight years the number of kids exposed to smoke at home dropped from 24 per cent to just six per cent. That number is down both because fewer parents are smoking, and because parents like Jason Dennis of Prince Edward Island are taking their smoke breaks outside.
  20. People who are concerned about their hygiene don't like smelling like an ash tray
  21. Yeah right, smokers are unhealthy, they would run out of breath just running 5 minutes
