BS. They enter illegally because they don't qualify as a refugee and will get bounced if they try to apply as per process. They are cheating and need to be kicked back to wherever they came from immediately before entering Canada. Ya. Great for you. I'm one of those people that has to pay for my share AND yours. Glad you're happy being nothing but a net receiver of other people's hard work.

So Canada's refugee "program" now defines being "dirt poor" as acceptable grounds to call someone a refugee and give them Canadian status? Great. Just flipping great. I drive a truck. Can I please be called a refugee because I drive a truck? Then I can get all my health care for free, etc. This program is fantastic!

To this I can only say "charity starts at home". It turns my stomach to see Trudeau and his ilk give away billions of Canada's money and then I have to go down and donate my own after-tax cash to my local food bank because kids in my own town don't have enough. I can only give so much but I do what I can while Mr Socks buys his way into a UN position for himself. I may disagree with the numbers that are brought in, but if they follow the process then I don't bitch too loudly. I have no time for anyone skipping lines - all these Haitians crossing the border...."the numbers" say 50% get sent back to Haiti. Why the hell is that number not 100%??? Kick them the f*ck out and let them apply through proper channels. -

Not my problem where they go after they leave Canada. Of course people matter, just not these ones to me. My kids, my family and my friends matter to me and matter a lot. I'd be much happier if not one cent left Canada earmarked for "foreign aid". See? I'm not BRX.......I don't want my money going to ANY country except Canada. We have enough people in this country that could use financial help - no sense sending it to some third world country where it will do exactly zero good. So money matters. -

You're missing the point here I think. "We (Canada)" don't have to send them back anywhere but the US. They cross the border there, they go back where they came from - they are not our problem. Let the US pay for their deportation if that was their first safe country. Any idea what happens to me if I try to do the same thing and sneak into the States? I still believe that the Canadian border should have guards with guns patrolling it against border jumpers. They run....they get shot. Only takes a couple of those before word gets out and the flow is stemmed. And to be clear, I am NOT against any particular skin color - I AM against my money going to people who jump the queue. The whole immigration debate for me is about money; nothing more. -
No idea why I find it so funny that the "alt left" gets mad at the "alt right" for not wanting to bring "alt right" people to Canada. Isn't that somewhat like dividing by zero?

Right - socially left, fiscally right (Brian Jean)
Alt Right - socially right, fiscally right (Ralph Klein)

Soooo.....mathematically we could say:
Left = Right (so Paul Martin is the same as Brian Jean)
Alt Left /= Alt Right (Justin Trudeau is no Ralph Klein)

Me: Socially left definitely; fiscally - they're all the same really, regardless of what they promise or their supposed expertise or theories on what will lead to fiscal success. My standard of living changes not a whit under Conservative or Liberal governments. The "lower taxes" that Conservatives promise amount to pennies on my paycheque; the higher taxes promised by Conservatives under Liberals never seem to amount to anything, and the 'tax credits' given out by Conservatives and Liberals rarely apply to me.

Why? What would it matter? As I said, it's not like North American white people would be the only ones able to do it. If everyone wants to make 8 foot tall basketball players, let them. Ask yourself this....are you sure Shaq wasn't genetically modified? What about Perry the Fridge? Does it make any difference? What if everyone got smarter? Would that be such a bad thing? Perhaps Stephen Hawking is actually engineered. If you found out he was, would you want him to NOT participate in scientific research? I mean, he was born in 1942 so maybe the Nazi scientists got there genome on... edit->And I happen to think that ALL professional athletes should be allowed to use performance enhancing drugs. I couldn't care less if they got stronger in the gym or from the drugs - to hell with Usain Bolt's 9.58, I want to see someone run the 100m in 4.00 flat. -

It's not important at all. I just a kick out of people who post garbage stats from a misinterpreted link and then delete any comments that show them to be just that....garbage. It's amazingly childish and puts those posters in the same category as conspiracy theorists - "Waaah!!! I don't like you! You're mean! I'm deleting your post! Waaaaaahhhhh!!"
I find it amusing and feel somewhat sorry for those people.

I'm really curious if anyone on here actually knows the difference between
A: a crime
B: a hate crime
C: a terrorist act.
The mixing and matching of these terms in the threads here is mind boggling

Another example of idiocy - this is NOT a hate crime. Sexual harassment is a crime for sure but it's comments like this that skew statistics and the reason we can't believe a damn thing that gets published under this banner. edit->but we absolutely SHOULD be keeping track of all crimes and in this case it would be placed in the "white guy" column

...and THIS is why these discussions can never go anywhere.... Stats based on race/religion/culture will never be kept in Canada because there is a huge fear from both sides of any debate that the numbers could prove them wrong. If the numbers showed that muslim men committed 10x the violent crime then the "left" would have no choice but to restrict immigration for them. If the data showed that muslim men committed 10x LESS violent crime than other groups, the "right" would have to stop crying out against immigration for them. Neither side will ever take that chance. Much easier just to call anyone who questions it at all a "bigot, racist xenophobe" and then scream "islamophobia!!!!" - problem solved.

That is exactly my point. How can anyone say that "hate crimes against muslims are up XX%" with any certainty? I'd like to see those same crime stats broken down by ethnic and religious per capita.

Then that's my fault for being unclear. I should have stated "a Somalian gang kills a white guy at a mall in Canada". Never meant to lead you to believe I was referring to anything international. My entire post was about things happening in Canada.

I was giving an example of murders related to "islamophobia" as per the thread topic based on your supplied numbers. Are we narrowing the field to "islamophobic terrorism vs islamic terrorism"? Your choice - we can go wherever you want with this. I still think my last post demonstrates why the numbers may or may not be accurate.

Maybe that's the score. Are you sure? Consider this: A white guys kills 6 muslims in a mosque. Score: 6-0 Now a Somalian gang kills a white guy at a mall. If the gang members are all muslim, is this still a hate crime or does it just get recorded as a murder? Does anyone report whether the killing was because the white guy wasn't muslim? Not a chance because.....Canada. Score: Still 6-0 "Lies, damn lies, and statistics"

And the definition of "reported hate crimes" can be anything anyone wants it to be even when it's not. Putting up a sign that says "I hate muslims" would fall into the numbers reported in your link, but meets absolutely none of the definitions of "hate crime".
