This word is being thrown at the Conservative Party, quite loosely by Liberal supporters, that I decided to look for the meaning myself. If that word is meant to shock into fear - to scare -....well, lo and behold: According to Webster: Fascism is a system of government characterized by rigid one-party dictatorship, forcible suppression of opposition, private economic enterprise under centralized governmental control, belligerent nationalism, racism and militarism, etc., Right now, we already have two characteristics of Fascism under the current regime. But I would not call this government "fascist".

Martin apparently asked the reporters not to bring up the current scandals during his campaign. This was poked about at a Mike Duffy discussion. I guess Liberals are so used to ordering the media about...printing only what will be good for the Liberals. Seems like a few media members are rebelling....some blatantly ignoring the "royal request". Way to go media! Keep that freedom part alive! Say no to censorship! It was briefly touched on the CTV news today about a Water pump something in Quebec which is currently being audited?? They're talking contracts awarded to friends of cronies... Anybody got that? Then the announcer said Martin was campaigning and cut short some questions regarding the recent scandals. The reporters responded by "exploding" around him and bombarded him with more scandal questions, among them was about the water pump. You know, they should audit EVERYTHING the Liberals had touched and done. OOops. I wonder if this is the same one posted on another thread? Could be...

Liberals dislike the philosophy of Conservatives....and Conservatives dislike the philosophy of Liberals. Fine. But the issue is about CORRUPTIONS and SCANDALS that is crippling the country. Undeniable, proven PATTERN OF CORRUPTIONS that had happened, and more allegations of more corruptions under investigations. Undeniable PATTERN OF SCANDALS that had happening...and is still happening, even right after the wake of the Gomery report. You know what they say..."where there's smoke....?" Well, the Liberals had proven that saying true a number of times. What can I say? As a citizen, that is the top most concern for me. You think I quake with fear just because you say Harper WILL DO THIS...or Harper WILL DO THAT? You argue with pure what-ifs, self-serving reasonings backing up your claims...wishy-washy claims...twisting facts...deflecting....sounding just like the Liberal Party you blindly defend. You want proven facts? Check out Harper's real views of Canada and how it should be run. You can decide after that if he was just an ultra-right-wing headcase back then, or a complete liar now, who tossed away his values because he knows Canadians don't agree. The only way to get into a position to put his beliefs into reality is to throw money around like "a drunken sailor" like he accused the liberals of doing last election, and lie about his true convictions and intentions all the way to 24 Sussex. From what I understand all the SEC has sent out was basically a form letter type response to the NDP allegations. I don't know how to do the link-thingy. Your claim is just pure conjecture. Heck, it could even be a part of the "scary" tactics. You could be a planted "mole"...a professional "spinner" for the Liberals paid to go to website forums. I am not accusing you...I am just stating the skeptism that would normally go through an ordinary citizen like me at this point. For it was commented on tv that professional spinners do exist. Whether you're right or wrong about your claim regarding taxes is the least of my concern right now. I'm so used to paying high taxes anyway. What I'm deeply enraged about is....where tax-payers' money go. If you canvassed each and every Canadians doling out hard-earned money to pay their taxes, I'm sure they did not intend for those taxes to go into waste...especially not into Liberal cronies' pockets.

The only option is to either have the Conservative or the NDP as the government. Liberals will be too busy facing inquiries and investigations that they will not be able to focus on the policies and needs of the nation. The Liberals will definitely be focused on saving their own skin. Conservatives and NDP: two alternative views....although Layton suddenly started sounding like Harper with busting crime.

The Income Trust leak happened under his watch. As panels of experts said, the least Goodale should have done when it was discovered stocks were moving at an abnormal and highly suspicious rate , was say, "hey, something is going on here. I'll call for an investigation!" But both Goodale and Martin did nothing. They even tried to down-play it. A lot of investors lost their savings, a lot of them seniors and small-investors. Foreign investors were affected too that's why SEC is reviewing. Wouldn't this affect our economy somehow? Where is the leadership? And yesterday, all tv talk shows (CPAC and Mike Duffy) explained that the guy involved in the Options Canada scandal was the right-hand man of Martin.

Idon't know if this is a start of another one, but last night it was briefly mentioned in passing at the Mike Duffy Count Down by Mike Duffy ....about lobbyists being paid by the justice department to lobby for an agenda. I doubt very much the credibility of your sources...for after steadily watching a parade of Liberal strategists and other officials on tv desperately down-play or dismiss as nothing what is clearly so disturbing to everyone, to say the least....one can only automatically assume that anything negative attack on Harper or CP coming out from any Liberal officials or supporters from now on, is nothing more than just a desperate attempt to deflect or shift the nation's focus from the on-going RCMP investigations. The Liberal Party is peeling like an onion. Layers and layers of hidden agenda being revealed. And all seem to have just one common characteristics: en-riching the cronies' pockets through tax-payers' money. No matter what, I cannot see any of these money being doled out to friends and associates ever coming back to the tax-payers. I don't see them slightly benefitting the tax-payers at all. Tax-payers were actually victimized! It's like a home invasion....these sleazy characters invading our system of government...and we, the tax-payers could only sit and watch as they looted. Nothing wrong is going on." As a tax-payer and a concerned citizen, I am more enraged by the agendas that had been revealed....a pattern of continuous corruptions. If I'm not mistaken, it was mentioned last night that she's also in a neck-to-neck situation in her riding. She must be getting desperate. She belongs right at home with the Liberals. She was rude and obnoxious when she was interviewed alongside a Conservative spokesperson. Interrupted the lady and would not let her say anything.

Heard it as a news clip on the radio CBC today. I think she was campaigning with Martin.

Whoever shot this frame on film should be deep-fried by the NDP. There was Layton surrounded by all sorts of women, doing his campaign speech. I think this was in Winnipeg...and I think the place and the women were somehow involved in healthcare or something along that. It is a women's group I think judging from what was written on a huge backdrop poster. Now, the humorous part is this. This is what I, as a tv viewer, saw. One side of the poster sez "Jack Layton"....and the other side sez "Hazardous to Women's Health."

Also from Mike Duffy Count Down last night. A radio announcer from Quebec said that if Harper will say what Mulroney said....he believe that Harper will get a lot of support in Quebec. He said that there is definitely movement towards the Conservative side. I think Mulroney said something like this: "I need your help." or something along that line. Then a radio announcer from Toronto agreed...saying if he gets a lot of support from Quebec, he'll then get a lot of support from Ontario.

Yes, Belinda Stronach came out giving her testimonial....claiming she had seen the other side of Harper. She said that's why she crossed the floor.

The first time I saw him I automatically noted how rude he was...and so "in-your-face" mouthy. Obviously last night, the whole thing was getting to him. He sort of snapped at Mike Duffy...and blasted at the "moral vacuousness" of the media. He accused the oppositions of playing on the scandal. Conservative rep said that they could not help but touch on the scandals and corruptions since the Liberals are running on their track record.....scandals and corruptions are a part of that track record. It's amazing how NDP and Conservative really ganged up on him. It was good to see John Duffy gasping for words.

Yesterday, after the scoop on the new RCMP investigation on Mike Duffy Count Down, the media guests sort of poked fun at the Liberals. Apparently the Liberals are claiming that "they've got a mole!" They also claim that they know this "mole" is a Chretienite who wants to wreak havoc to Martin's campaign. One guest warned, "if you're working in the Liberal war room, better hide under your desk!" Mike Duffy wondered out loud about this latest claim, "gee...do they put drugs in their water coolers?" So, no.....the "scary-scary" campaign against Harper won't work this time.
