....and still rock solid in your determination to vote Liberal again....you've got to admit it: you are suffering from Liberal addiction.

Mike Duffy just revealed the latest scoop to hit the headlines tomorrow! Deputy Ministers who guested on the show were equally surprised to hear the latest from Mike. Nobody had a comment for they had no clue what this is all about.

As a wonderful role model figure for the younger set today, what do the Liberals really mean when they talk of "values?" Dollar value? When a society deliberately chooses to turn a blind eye on something that is openly corroding our nation, one can only assume that either.... 1) They don't care. As long as it does not affect them directly. Don't we have a word for this? Apathy? or... 2) They are somehow benefitting from the corruptions...directly or indirectly. or... 3) They do not see the whole picture....choosing instead to focus on one area that may be close to heart and ignoring the rest. or.... 4) They've been raised and matured in knowing nothing else but the liberal way of thinking. The bleeding hearts whose intentions are well-meant but would only want to see through rose-colored glasses. or... 5) just thinking only of their selves. The decision based upon these two questions: What will the Liberals give to me? What will change of government take away from me? "Vote with your conscience!" adviced one Liberal supporter. I pray she does.

Why we must prevent Harper from becoming PM

This is exactly the whole point. Parents having choices...and not being dictated to by the government how to raise their children! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Some choice when one of the options isn't there. You can have any colour of Model-T as long as it's black. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> eh? -

What's in a name really? Call it baby-bonus, tax-cut, daycare, whatever....itis still practical, sensible and attainable. Same as you would with a 6 or 4 or 3 year old or toddlers and infants. Go get a daycare of their choice. I just had a call about a 10 year old...and still have a 12 year-old coming here every now and then, for crying out loud. Btw, aren't they supposed to be in school most of the time? As for division of Canada, they were discussing at Count Down last night that if the Liberals will win again, you can almost be sure of saying bye-bye to Quebec....and the western part apparently is thinking along those lines. The same could be said for all politicians out door, depending on who's watching: You can't believe anything Martin says! Liberals have the habit of breaking their promises. NDP's are confused by some to Communism for their very socialistic approach. Just recall the most recent strings of fiasco that the government smeared on the whole nation. Chretien! Gagliano! AdScam! Human Resources scandal! Did anybody see any jail time? Auditor General is still doing her job btw....another possible scandal about CIDA may erupt. Romanow report....ddidn't that come out years back? Where's the solution? After billions injected, It only got worse! At least we're giving a shot at something new. We've had Liberals for more than a decade and nothing but the same-old, same-old is happening. We are not only regretting it, but we are lamenting and suffering for it. If the Liberals still win after all these corruptions....it is hopeless! It only means that corruption is accepted as normal way of system. It will be hard to change the kind of mentality that is used to this kind of system. You can kiss goodbye to the good old Canada and embrace a new Banana Republic. And that is the legacy you'll bequeath to the future generation! -

Who said all employees would be unionized? Who said irregular schedules can't be accommodated? I feel like I'm repeating myself over and over in this thread, but licensed family day care homes and licensed centres can operate with extended hours, evenings, weekends, and overnight care. And unionization can happen in private or public child care centres, if it does come to pass. It's hard to imagine that employees doing the same job will not have equal pay and benefits in a nationalized scenario run by the government. They'll be screaming pay equity! And who can blame them? Unionization is a sure thing. Oh yes they will! The choices will range from stay-at-home moms, grandparents, neighbors, institutionalized daycares like we have now that deals with counties and rural areas and private homedaycare providers. Actually, there'll be an abundance of spaces! Oh yes, it will. Same as the answer above. The working poor nowadays mean working irregular hours. They are mostly like the mom I was referring to...single mom trying to enter the work force, working as a casual cashier at a grocery store. And they are the ones who desperately need daycare spaces that will suit their needs. Conservatives are not abolishing the public daycares we now have. Children who needs special care should be cared for by people with special training anyway. One caregiver who was under an agency was caught with 11 children under her care. Oh yes, the agency was doing their "inspection"....but for some reasons she was able to hide the truth from them. You know how she got caught? Her neighbor was backing out of her driveway and nearly hit a child. That was it. The neighbor reported on her. Rotten apples exist everywhere. But that doesn't mean everyone is rotten. , Very true. And they ought to make damn sure, first-hand...and not just rely on someone's assurances. It is easy for parents to know if their child is receiving quality care, especially if the careprovider had already been referred to by somebody else. The child's attitude and inter-action with the careprovider, the hygiene of the child, care-provider's interaction with the parents etc..., A simple "What did you do today, sweetpea?" can say a lot too. This is exactly the whole point. Parents having choices...and not being dictated to by the government how to raise their children! There are lots of spaces right now....but you know why the working poor are having such a hard time finding one? Because they cannot bring their subsidies to careproviders of their choice! They are limited to agencies who have the monopoly on those subsidies...but not many of these agencies can actually deliver the kind of care that is actually needed by those who need it most. -

. I'll gamble on Harper. At least he has no track record of not being upfront with the public. It's amazing how short the memory is for some regarding the bungled gun registry that went way, way, way beyond what the cost was supposed to be. And it ain't working. And it's still here! And taxpayers are still stuck with it. This is the Liberal you're talking about....the one who allegedly cares for the common people??? With the Liberal plan, you can be sure it will be another fiasco! -

One irate parent called the Lowell Green radio talk on CPAC and was really fuming, asking how come suddenly she, as an at-home mom is not deemed eligible by the Liberals and NDP to take care of her own child? She said..."yeah, they want to raise our children so they can raise them as "little Liberals!" My thoughts exactly. Isn't it odd that the Liberals are really pushing for this National childcare that will actually benefit only a minor segment....would not even address the situation of the segment that needs the most help (like the mom mentioned above)...and would cost far more than what they say it would. Beware, there is more to this than meets the eye. I say, the Liberals have a hidden agenda. -

Just want to point out that I have had parents who used to be with licensed agencies...and found them not satisfactory. I also know of parents who have no wish to send their kids to licensed agencies for either they've had negative experiences with them or have heard unfavorable feedbacks from others. Some parents resent giving all sorts of private information and the tremendous amount of paperworks involved when applying to a licensed agency. Quality home daycares, especially those who have been in the business for too long usually get clients through WORD OF MOUTH. They hardly have the need to advertise. They are usually referred to by current or previous clients. I referred an unemployed single mom who attended school (referred to me by her own sister) to an agency since I know she will be qualified for subsidy. Later, she called me to ask if I had a space availabe, which I do not have at the time. I asked her how come she's not with the agency anymore. She said, "I got this job at the grocery store....the agency said they can't keep me because of my irregular hours." If they cannot accomodate irregular schedules of working parents right now.....what more in a National childcare when all employees are unionized? Single mom who's trying to enter the workforce....there are millions like her out there. Isn't she supposed to be the very type whom you say the Liberals are trying to help? Helloooo? Are we on the same planet? -
Gun-related crimes are a problem across the nation. Winnipeg has twice the rate than that of Toronto. All these gun violence all over Canada happened under Liberal watch. How come it was only recently....a few weeks before the election...that Martin, as the PM, came out to talk about it, and emphatically vowed to put a stop to it? Winnipeg and the rest of the cities not worth the bother? Taken for granted?

This might be another Liberal scandal waiting to happen: CIDA If I heard it right yesterday from that Foreign Aids and Disaster Relief discussion, the Auditor General is currently looking into this...and it does not look good.

too bad it was almost over when I stumbled into it. He was apparently showing his support for the Conservatives. He was saying that he got accused of getting paid by the Conservatives, which he denied and said he never got a cent. He is doing this because he just have that gut feeling about the Conservatives. He is also dismayed where the nation is heading right now. Know of any other media members who are standing up for Canada?

Well I don't understand much about this....so I'll just keep out of this one and observe the thread.

What certainty??? With the Liberal track records of boondagles and spending fiascos...the most likely CERTAINTY we'll get from the National Childcare would be exactly like the kind of certainty we got from the gun registry! And the tax payers will be the one holding the bag! That's certainty for sure! -

But the bureaucracy is killing this system! I used to be with a licensed agency such as you speak about and believe me, children's welfare is not the priority! They are nothing more than an employment agency protecting their coshy jobs. Here is an example.... They placed an infant with me and I had been caring for this child for more than a year. The child had adjusted well, and had developed a healthy friendship with our group. There was undeniably an attachment formed between me and this child. Then, the mother found her financial situation had improved. She no longer qualified for subsidy. The agency wanted her to pay the full amount if she wants to keep her space with me. The amount was for $40.00. The going rate at the time in our community for a private home daycare was $20.00 So she had to pay double the competitive rate to keep using this government agency. The mother came to me and said that she'll be forced to find somebody else....but before she does, she just wanted to know if I am willing to take her child under a private arrangement. I am allowed by the government agency to take on private children if I have a space. I know and have formed a bond with this child. Of course I was willing to take her as a private client. The agency accused me of stealing their client. It is odd that the agency would rather see the child ripped from the environment she'd grown used to, ripped her from friends....just because the mother will not pay the ridiculous full amount. The mother, instead of being praised and applauded to finally have become self-sufficient, without reelying on subsidies....was instead being penalized for becoming financially independent. Several of caregivers have left this agency....it's like they have a revolving door when it comes to careproviders. It is never about the welfare of children for them. -

I run a home daycare privately, and yes I do have insurance for it. A lot of home daycares offering QUALITY service have insurance. -
Who is she? She decided to bring up the SSM debate. She said she did not talk with Harper about this since she does not think she will hurt the party. Uh-oh. I take it she was or is a prominent conservative figure? Good or bad?

A lot of these gang members are young...minors....troubled minors! Put yourself in their shoes and feel how "elated" they must be feeling for getting all these attention....for having the whole city in the grip of their terror....for Layton to be blaming society again for "creating" monsters like these...for the PM to be scrambling in panic, making decisions that threatens more of our individual rights. Look how we cower in fear! Gee, those bastards must be having a great time and giving each other the high five!

Mike Duffy was interviewing a guy last night (sorry, failed to get his name)...but he is a lawyer of some office. I was in the middle of doing something so I also failed to really listen. From what I understood... He said that owning a handgun is different from carrying one. That with what Martin proposes, cops can be searching your house and you're in trouble if they found one in your closet. That you sit in jail without bail...even if you had not done anything except have a handgun in your possession? So this proposal of Martin gives cops reasons to search your house? Is this not violating fundamental rights? If true... There was a lot of protesting when drastic measures were being implemented to seek out terrorists in Canada, and this was in the name of National security....but hardly any peep now. Why are we being held "hostage" by these bad elements in our society...a very small percentage to the rest of the society....that we practically have to scrap or change the constitutions around? This is capitulating to a form of terrorism!
-
Okay, this is not about a phrase used by a politician. This is regarding a photo-op. Martin was shown campaigning at a bagel shop. He was literally kneading dough. My first reaction was...."Ooooooo, did he wash his hands?" Then it slowly sank in. How appropriately it looked if you look at things figuratively. "Kneading dough"....manipulating taxpayers' money..... With all the wasted money...and expensive vote-buying the Liberals had done, and are still doing....the government will surely need more dough. Boy, and hand-washing? It'll take more than just ordinary hand-washing to get rid of all the dirt.

Not for me! NDP is just toooo way up there in Socialism. Now, if it was a comparison between the Liberals and the NDP....NDP comes out smelling like a rose because of Liberal corruptions. Conservative is the only one out there who offers a real straight-forward, SENSIBLE, alternative CHANGE! -
I was watching McGuinty on CPAC network (panel discussion with other candidates on Canada Foreign Aids and Disaster Relief), and when he tried to emphasize a point, he said.... "NOW IS THE TIME TO DO THIS!" There's really nothing wrong with that sentence except that I've heard Martin used the very same words in more than a couple of occasions. "Now is the time to do this!" Gee, it's amazing how for more than a decade, they had all the time to do what they need to do....but oh no....they have to wait until the last minute, right on the eve of an election to do what they should have done. I say, another reason why we need a change of government! Phoooey to PROCASTINATORS!

Liberal is leaning too far left. Really gung-ho on taking the role of "Big Brother" with dubious programs that will be extravagant. And it had become ban-crazy. The direction they're heading is something to be concerned about....seems to be heading the same direction as NDP. NDP is far too left too, no wonder it's being confused with Communism. Either instigated or backs the same social policies of Liberal. Ban-crazy too. And much bigger spending too. Liberal and NDP will need someone to pay for all these expenses. So why do I expect any tax-reductions? I mean, a real tax break? Green is ultra left. This talk of "Healthy Everything" makes me cringe. Just imagining how they will implement that already gives me the creeps. I bet this will be the one who'll really go on a ban-frenzy. With expenses, I really don't want to think about it. He's been complaining about child poverty in Canada which the Liberal had failed to solve. No problem with that. But now, he's talking solving GLOBAL child poverty. Let's be realistic here. There's only so much we can do....and we can afford. Conservative is the only one that is closest to the center.
-
Yes. You've just described Chretien and Martin. "Oily"....that's the term that had been eluding me. Thanks.

Conservatives = 140 Liberals = 90 Bloc = 50 NDP = 22 Green = 6
