EU targets Trump states with tariffs
betsy replied to jacee's topic in Canada / United States Relations
Trump just tweeted a warning to harley davidson. ✔ @realDonaldTrump A Harley-Davidson should never be built in another country-never! Their employees and customers are already very angry at them. If they move, watch, it will be the beginning of the end - they surrendered, they quit! The Aura will be gone and they will be taxed like never before! 8:17 AM - Jun 26, 2018 -
America under President Trump
betsy replied to betsy's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
The latest news: Supreme Court upheld Trump's travel ban for those 7 countries. Trudeau will be issuing an invitation for those banned folks, I bet. Come to sunny ways. Maybe the invitition will be issued on Canada day? -

Indeed, a dangerous turn for.........the socialists and alt-left who's selling out USA, piece by piece. -
That's why I tend to agree with Trump on his new policy - illegal migrants won't see any court or judges. They're sent right back to where they came from. That should put an end to it once words spread around that USA is no patsy anymore. That's the only way. What's happening is that all they have to do is set a toe on Canadian soil, and we're stuck with them! Human rights, my foot! What about those LEGALLY waiting in line? Treat them like doormats? I just saw Tory on the news - in front of the cameras - begging for money! Toronto cannot accept any more refugees. How come Trudeau isn't giving anything to Toronto? After all, he's the cause of this chaos! Lol. Looks like mayors of places affected, will have to resort to shaming the federal government for refugee funding! Good luck. If he can't think far enough beyond his nose before all these latest happenings, what makes you think Trudeau can even focus at all........especially, right now.

What are the chances Trudeau - and EU - will be forced to capitulate once Trump starts going for the autos? Tarrifs on autos will be the next target. It's going to happen. Our negotiators are comforted by the fact that Trump is against the world. "There's strength in numbers," they say. But Craig Oliver is right: countries don't care about Canada. They all care about their own. They're likely to make deal for the best interest of their own countries. WE should think of Canada! Trudeau should make a deal with Trump before he slaps on the tarriffs on autmobiles.

China nerves are buckling under trump

China has more than 70 million people living in poverty. No regime is safe with that many people suffering. -
America's new world order
betsy replied to paxamericana's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
Boy.....what's happening under Trump does indeed looks to be a new world order developing. It's developing fast, too. I suppose he's trying to accomplish as much as he can. His thumb is everywhere. Middle East. Asia. Europe. Of course, like anything new - you'll first have to sweep out the old. -

Some people may not like it, but Trump is doing something good for the world. His vision is FAIR TRADE: no barriers, no subsidies, no tarriffs. An equal playing field for all. A healthy competition is good for the consumers. That will tremendously benefit consumers! Just seeing supply management gone, is a win for us Canadian consumers - enough of this price-fixing! If as the government rationalizes they have supply management to control waste because of too much milk production (if milk is plentiful) - why on earth are we paying so much for a basic food? Prices are inflated! If prices of commodities go down, people can stretch their pennies farther, people will be able to afford more, you won't need a wage-hike! Anyway, what good is a wage-hike if the prices go up with it??? -

How do they owe the restaurant. There was a big backlash - the restaurant now know that their method didn't go by as they thought it would. -

Lol. Hillary deliberately broke ethics rule with her private emails! By the looks of it, the left don't care about ethics rules! Or, the Hatch Act! Only when it suits them! https://www.cnn.com/2017/07/19/politics/osc-usps-hillary-clinton-hatch-act/index.html https://www.politico.com/story/2016/07/julian-castro-ethics-hud-hatch-225732 https://causeofaction.org/cause-of-action-exposes-potential-hatch-act-violation-at-the-faa/ Does it take much to imagine refusing service to anyone of differing ideology, or for disapproval of lifestyle, or employment can be used to intimidate, or coersce? Sit down and think about it. This Wilkinson doesn't understand democracy! That's usually the case it seems with the lunatic left - they tend to spout off about things they hardly understand! -

Your employees - especially your chef - should concentrate on their job! Oh boy, I wonder how many messed up orders happened that night! The irony on her closed door sign: Democracy requires a principled government. http://www.newser.com/story/261025/restaurant-explains-why-sanders-got-the-boot.html You may not agree with the President's policies, but you have to keep in mind that he's been elected by the people! Yoo-hoo? Elections mean anything to you at all? In a democracy, Ms Smarty Pants......you don't get to dictate what could and could not stand! Deal with it in the next election! You're babbling! She was just a regular customer that night. She didn't come to your restaurant as a public official. She came as a regular client. It's alarming what this employer want to promote - intimidating and coerscing public servants to do things her own way! I wish someone would take this establishment to court. Too bad, Sarah won't. -

How do you know they're referring to their religious morals? Did the owner claim it's due to her religious belief? For all we know, she could be an atheist. Even Sarah Sanders - is she religious? Anyone can claim to "moral values" these days, without having to be religious at all. Thus I'm saying, even though freedom of religion is among the Constitutional rights............this is more about freedom of speech/expression. The owners doesn't like what Sanders says at press briefings. -

The Red Hen employer is a .........moron. She endangered her own employees by revealing the information her decision was based on what the employees had decided. This employer wanted to be seen as the champion of gays...............and yet at the same time, she doesn't want to take full responsibility for her decision. "I did it because that's what they wanted me to do." She's like effing Pontious Pilate.
