why not cite the posts? I know, only white men over 6 feet tall should be police officers. You've read all my posts.... did you read another poster who said there are (gasp!) Xmas carols being played on CBC radio? I don't want Canada to be like Saudi Arabia, do you? I don't wear a helmet when I ride my bike and don't plan to start.

Like I said Go to Marks Pick up yer white T and jeans. Assimilate already! Today, I'm off work so I will wear my jeans and T as a signal to the rest of the country that yes, I am assimilated.

How do we fix Canada's Healthcare crisis?
Drea replied to mikedavid00's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Tad pessimistic are you? Every sector -- from roofers to managers to nurses to shit shovellers and chicken catchers. We need people! What do you want? Are you educated? My bro moved here one month ago. He is now the head of maintenance at a mall. $40 grand a year to start. He was a logger and never did mall maintenance in his life. But they recognized a hardworker and rewarded him for it. They are looking for more maintenance personel. $14/hr to start. Every car dealer in town is looking for sales reps. Every roofer in town is looking for labourers. And yes, every Timmy's in town is looking for coffee slingers. (Because those who used to sling coffee have moved on to better jobs.) I kick your ass if you are on welfare. There is no excuse not to work. -
Preimplantation Genetic Diagnosis (PGD)

When I was preggo the ultrasound tech would not tell me the sex of the child but I didn't care as it made no difference to me whether I ended up with a girl or boy. I just wanted a healthy baby. Sadly, our patriarchal world does not see it the way I do. I wish I would be still alive when there are no more girls left. I guess then homosexuality will be more acceptable? -
Maher Arar has pared down his $400-million lawsuit against
Drea replied to mikedavid00's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Arar did nothing wrong. Yet was detained and tortured. Of course he is guilty in your eyes simply because he is a muslim and all muslims are fanatics waiting to destroy the infidels. I know a Hell's Angel. Am I a criminal? -
Oh, and you and those who think like you (there are others on Freedominion, check it out) have already labelled Canada a Banana Republic. As in "Are you just finding out Canada is a BANANA REPUBLIC?" I know you hate this country with all your heart. You poor guy, you must be so miserable. Have you applied to get into the US yet? Aquaintance I used to know -- hated his parents for immigrating to Canada instead of the US (he was 9 yo when he got here). Well he moved to Florida. He's happy as a clam being an American. So they do accept Canadians (OMG, even those who have "dual" citizenships -- his was Czekoslovakian (sp)/Canadian, yet they still accepted him -- amazingly tolerant, those Americans!) If yer happy and you know, it clap your hands *clap clap* If yer sad and you know it, move away...

You will wear jeans and a white t-shirt. And you will believe in Jeeesuuus! If you move to North America you should only wear Levis and white t-shirts from Marks Work Warehouse. That way you will look like you belong here. All people, girls, boys, men, women should only wear this uniform. It's the American way to assimilate. You will assimilate -- you will become a borg. IMO religion should be kept extremely private. No one should be able to tell what you believe by looking at you. No crosses, no kirpans, no star of davids, no burkas, no flowy white pants on men. Religion division will be the downfall of our society. The only way to stop it is to ban religion in the public sphere completely.

I know, you'd like to see us living in a fifedom but I prefer democracy where everyone has equal rights. I know, without the US we wouldn't even know how to tie our shoes let alone log, mine etc. :doh!: We'd all be livin' in igloos (even in Vancouver) and eatin' raw bacon. Gosh lets bow down to the US for saving us from backwater hell. I thought you right wingers didn't believe in conspiracies? Are you buying into the one where the Illuminati rule everything? Ooga Booga! Or that the Rockefellers own the planet? Gee Leafless you are a bundle of suprises! Really though -- do you or do you not believe that Canada is run by the USA?

Drea replied to mikedavid00's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Oh so basically a fundamentalist with dual citiizenship plays with heat, gets him self accidently on fire, and now $37,000,000 of our tax dollars is going to make him and his family rich so Harper can by votes from the Islamic community. Sometiems things make me angry but it's rare. This makes me real angry. We should have got him, his brothers, his sister, his mother, his father, his grandparents, and his children, wife, other wife, and distant cousins and GET THEM THE HELL OUT OF OUR COUNTRY. The man was innocent. Here are the links: http://www.cbc.ca/news/background/arar/ http://www.maherarar.ca/mahers%20story.php http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maher_Arar I hope one day you folks get accused for something you didn't do. Would serve you right. -
Wouldn't a "holy grail" be something one is "seeking"? For me it's knowledge.

From Wikipedia: A Banana Republic is a pejorative term for a country with an extremely corrupt government, often a primitive economy and sometimes its political environment controlled by a major power. Oh Leafless you hate Canada so. I could almost cry for you. -- extremely corrupt govt -- Harper is corrupt??? -- primative economy -- gosh we don't have any resources at all? -- political environment controlled by a major power -- I would think that a rightwinger like you would NOT believe that the USA is in control of Canada, but I guess I'm wrong.

...... and everyone can put a finger in a dyke. I'd ask first though. In the US, I believe they call them levees rather than dykes. Avoids confusion.

So let me get this straight: in your world - Jesus is reduced to a charlatan, as are the people who witnessed his miracles, - everyone who has ever had a vision or seen/felt a presence of God are nuts, - all mediums and psychics are bogus, and - every religion is wrong. Hmm, centuries of belief out the window. Thanks for clearing that up for us. - Jesus was a man who tried to teach people to be nice to one another. What a guy -- kuddos to him for trying. - No, I wouldn't say they're nuts. I'd say perhaps they had a personal epiphany (an "ahaaa moment) that they THINK is from outside themselves (God). - Absolutely not. The human mind is incredible. We have the capacity for ESP etc, but 99.9% of us don't know how to use it (me included). - Yes, every religion is wrong. Back in our caveman days We saw the sun go down (die) -- we saw the sun come up (ressurection) We saw the leaf on the tree wither in the fall (death) -- we saw it come back in the spring (resurrection) No wonder we think there is life after death. We see resurrections daily in nature. It's very difficult to face the fact that you will simply no longer exist so we made up a story about how we go to "Valhalla" or "heaven" or "wherever".

How do we fix Canada's Healthcare crisis?
Drea replied to mikedavid00's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Please please please come out to BC. We can't find enough employees. If you're breathing your hired! Every single one of my clients is having a really tough time finding breathers. So get out here to Lotus Land -- not only is the weather good, so's the pay! -
That "something" touching your life is YOU! You have a sane inner self that brings peace and enlightenment when "touched". Nothing comes from anywhere but our own human selves. Of course if you "knock" on your subconscience it will "be opened to you". If you don't, you will forever live in the dark. God does not exist. God is a fantasy made up by humans in their effort to alleviate life's difficulties and understand death. Death is the end. There is no heaven, no hell, no reincarnation, no resurrection. You are gone. Sad eh. Well, the truth hurts sometimes. So live your life as though there is no forgiveness at the end. There is no judgement. No pearly gates or firey pit. Just nothingness. But don't worry, you won't know because you will no longer "be". Cheerios! Gotta go make the best of my short life here on earth

Do you have evidence of that or is that just an opinion? An opinion. From experience. I raised my son on my own for his first 7 years and I believe that children need fathers. A father drives you to do your best. You want approval from your father (mom's approval is automatic). Even at my age I still want respect and approval from my dad. I want him to say "good job, I'm proud of you". Moms, on the other hand, approve of most everything their children do and are proud even with the simplest of tasks. It takes more effort to please dad.

How do we fix Canada's Healthcare crisis?
Drea replied to mikedavid00's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
More people would go into healthcare because the working conditions and morale would be better. I was at the hospital the other day and there was no smiling going on, no happy employees. These people are providing a service. Shouldn't the service they provide be better than the waitresses at Denny's? -
No, it doesn't suck to be me. Trust me. City boys. I was talking about boys raised in towns and cities. My apologies.. I grew up on a 2000 acre ranch with 300 head and all that went with it. I certainly have a great respect for hard homegrown work -- if you're raised in it. I moved to the ranch when I was 10 (a city kid). I live in a town with my kid and he doesn't have the freedom I did. So his schooling keeps him focussed on his goal. (which changes weekly! ) In the city it's all too easy for a boy to fall into the gaming, ganging, culture. And yes, my son is an A student, better'n a lot of girls. If I might add: I do think the lack of a father figure could be a clue as to the boys' performance.

How do we fix Canada's Healthcare crisis?
Drea replied to mikedavid00's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
The burden on our healthcare system is ridiculous. People in Canada run to the doctor for the sniffles. This is the problem. We have a sense of entitlement with regard to our healthcare and many people abuse it. -
How do we fix Canada's Healthcare crisis?
Drea replied to mikedavid00's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
I agree that we're not rich enough. Private business (clinics, etc) bring money. They don't just "recycle" money from one coffer into another -- the government paying the government. IMO the very best we could do is to have private hospitals bill the government. We could still pay health premiums and of keep employer sponsored extended health care. Win win. Our current system is overloaded with goverment employees. Private clinics would pay better, the working conditions would be better. They would have to compete for business/patients -- customer service is what makes a business successful. Currently, the govt hospitals don't have to provide good service (not the fault of the nurses, doctors, etc) because people have no other choice. -
How do we fix Canada's Healthcare crisis?
Drea replied to mikedavid00's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Today on the news (Global)... A woman with severe foot pain is waiting three years to see a foot specialist. If she goes to the private clinic (already here and accepting pay patients) and pays she can be all fixed up in two weeks. TWO freakin' WEEKS! What is wrong with this picture folks? Rich people get care, poor people don't. Hello. Why not have the private clinic bill government health care? I am not against private healthcare as long as it is accessible to all regardless of income. -
Is Stephane Dion also a citizen of France
Drea replied to Leafless's topic in Moral & Ethical Issues
/open sarcastic rant I don't know 'bout you guys but when I picked MY mother I made darn sure she was from Canada! How dare Dion have a mother who was not born in this country! Shame on him. It's not like Dion went over to France and got a citizenship. It's not like he was born there (and so what even if he was). Anyone here on the board have a mother or father who was NOT born in Canada? GET OUT! You don't belong here. Only born and bred Canadians (5th or 6th generation?) should be allowed to be here. All you others are dirty rotten immigrants. /end sarcastic rant -
It's History. Fer pete sake -- Chretien = Dion so Harper = Kim Campbell? After all at one point she was the leader/pm. So it makes sense to say that Harper is just another facet of dear Kim.. Bwaaaaa haaa haaaa

Thing is, one can only do "grunt" work while they are young and fit. Girls and women are finally getting the drift. Education pays off. On the other hand, boys are too interested in the latest shootemup video game to wrap their heads around school. My son is on a very tight rein regarding his gaming. Schoolwork first is our mantra and I have to repeat and repeat it! He is looking forward to going to university focussing on ancient anthropology. I'd rather have him do that than go plow a field somewhere.

Oh Goody! Vigilante justice. Whoooo hooo -- I can hardly wait to go all "cop" on those sonofab teenagers I see -- you know, the ones with attitude, that (even though they've never been charged or arrested) I know, I KNOW that they have done drugs. I say burn 'em all! Whoooooo hoooooooooo!
