  1. Refugees from the richest country in the world, who want to move to Canada because they don't like the new president? They probably feel that they should be considered ahead of refugees with actual threats on their survival. Canada does not need people that far out of touch with reality.
  2. He did not condemn a specific religion, nor did he refer to Mexicans as rapists/criminals. You've hyped up what he said and did, surprise surprise. But this does illustrate why some on the left have got in such a tizzy. They are believing lies and such and then expecting that a president can do whatever he wants once he gets into office. One question. Did Obama ever close Gitmo? When most of these lefties grow up and get some more years in, they'll look back at the garbage cans they tipped over as youthful stupidity.
  3. Maybe it would make them feel better if Hillary gets a "lost the election" trophy!
  4. She called his win and was wildly mocked for it. Now the mockers are freaking out and it looks good on them.
  5. actually, whatever. People are going to come up with all kinds of things to be scared of I guess. I remember you specifically saying repeatedly that Trump supporters were scared of something or other. I told you that they were actually angry, but you couldn't imagine that. George Bush, a true conservative, christian and republican had far more to offer in the way of fear than Trump, who isn't any of those things, and supported many democrats in his life time.
  6. I suspect that if you dragged it out of them, they'd support the Trump theory that the system is rigged!
  7. Yeah, oddly enough, the LA Times was much closer to the Trump truth, so of course they were excused as an outlier. And now, as you mentioned, the Dem party is in disarray.
  8. In general, the liberal news sources all painted a pretty rosy picture for Hillary too. This all was a big disservice to their side, and instead of protesting/rioting, people should be aiming their ire at the inaccurate media that misled them.
  9. This is getting silly, isn't it? I mean, George W Bush, a real republican christian conservative, went right after abortion laws and gay rights like the crusader he is. I mean, after all, he had a majority in Congress and the Senate, with Cheney's vote. And he went right after transgendered rights too, didn't he? I'm sure he did, after all, he's a christian conservative republican. And so Trump, who is not a christian nor a conservative nor a republican will do it too. I know that many republicans tried to block him and stop him, but he'll forget all about that and immediately do their bidding like the good little boy he is right? Sometimes you can only laugh.
  10. I'm not into debating and arguing as if it actually accomplishes anything, so believe whatever makes you happy. Time will tell.
  11. It was the US that led Canada with transgendered rights. What does your crystal ball say about that? Canada may be to the left, but we didn't see that coming at all. Furthermore, abortions are a different issue and can't be tied to gay rights. The morning after pill is making the abortion unneeded, and Hillary's support of partial birth abortion was poorly thought out. Gay rights are not going away, the US is swinging the other way with transgendered rights. On the alpha male issue, do some reading up on body language. I can see that the liberals around here are going to behave the same way they did when *scary* Harper came to power. In about a year when you've repeated yourself a 100 times or so and Trump is still busy fixing the economy and starting to think about getting re-elected, you people may or may not calm down. Whatever, believe what makes you happy.
  12. Look, you're just seeing what you want to. The facts on the ground are real. Congress won't touch gay rights because they are basically enshrined in the constitution and they'll get voted out if they try. They're going after Obamacare. There is also over 200 billion dollars in profits that corporations(including the likes of Starbucks and Apple) are keeping out of the country lest they be taxed at the current rate of 35%. Trump wants to give them a one time deal of 10% to bring that money into the US economy and start revving things up. He also wants to lower business tax rates, and along with the burden of Obamacare, will see businesses free to hire and invest more. It's the economy stupid, to quote Bill Clinton. Then Trump is indeed an Alpha male. His bombastic comments on immigration, Muslims, Hillary, women he doesn't like, and all the rest should be proof enough. But believe what you want. It's funny, when Harper came into power the liberals all claimed he was coming after gay rights, etc. And Harper, a REAL conservative, proved them all wrong. Trump is neither a conservative nor a republican. He's already got a chip on his shoulder from all of the republicans that wouldn't support him, and suddenly he's going to embrace a right wing agenda? Dream on.
  13. Man, the tin foil hat theories are really coming out.
  14. Kimmy, it looks like you are going to see a conservative bogeyman under every rock. Trump is the president, not Pence. He is not a republican, not a conservative and not a christian. He's an alpha male that will not be dictated to. Yes I know that social conservatives have their christmas lists ready to give to Trump, but the guy has been a democrat more than anything else. Predicting the overturn of Roe v Wade is really tin foil hat territory.
  15. These are all known names and people. I'd like to see a few surprises to fill out the cabinet. I'm sure there are some Donald Rumsfeld types that can help. And Kelly-Anne Conway is a rock star. She should be in the inner circle as she's proved herself as a king maker.
  16. Trump did not legitimize bigotry. His comments, when taken in context, were not even bigoted for the most part. What you have is the left wing media foaming at the mouth as they tried(and failed) to bring down his campaign.
  17. The CBC long ago gave up any attempt to be objective and have become much less because of it. They deserve a few more budget cuts IMO, but with Justin in power, they'll probably get some increases.
  18. Yeah, there's a lot of that going around but give it some time, those shallow enough to be consumed with fear need to work through the steps of denial. And the idea that alfa male Trump will delegate parts of his job to nice guy Pence is LOL. Pence, a meek mild Christian, knows he's the VP. In 8 years, he'll be a force though.
  19. And just to show what a shrewd business man Trump is, he spent about $5 per vote to win this election, while Clinton was at about $10 per vote. On the nonsense that the media coverage was fair, because FOX!! Give me a break. First of all, they were heavily critical when he made gaffs, etc. Second, they certainly did not think everything he did was genius as Argus thinks. And third, one Fox channel does not provide balance to CNN, CBS, NBC, ABC and reams of newspapers and news sites. Get real. One report I heard was that journalists felt that Trump was so awful that they felt justified in not trying to be objective when reporting on him, which is what news reporting is supposed to be. That's why I love this win so much. On top of the MSM bias, you have wiki leaks showing that they were actually colluding with the Clinton team, giving them questions ahead of the debates, and DOJ insiders giving them leaks about what might be coming. Then you have Loretta Lynch meeting with Bill Clinton while his wife was being investigated by the DOJ, sneaking onto his plane while it's on the tarmac to try to hide the appointment. And celebrities telling the public how to vote. In your face Madonna!
  20. LOL! It didn't take long for the Hitler reference! The left needs to find some new cards to play with. The racist and Hitler cards are pretty worn out by now and don't jive with reality. Argus, I already said that Trump hurt himself with the Muslim and Mexican comments. But it was Obama's stupid cop comment that made it okay to resist the police and insult them.
  21. IMO, this is what sunk her. Again, Trump had no ground game, no electoral machine, no money(by comparison), no political experience. Yet she couldn't put him away. On the media bias, one of the women that Trump allegedly groped got an entire hour of unopposed screen time to tell her story. She had no witnesses so it was basically hearsay. Yet Hillary couldn't put Trump away. Let's face it folks, she was a weak candidate with a big bank account and lots of baggage.
  22. You're not a babe in the woods, so I hope you realize that this isn't the first time they've elected a scoundrel.
  23. Yep, in your face, Katy Perry! Trump was the rock star, and Hillary could never match his crowds, which is why they started appearing at rock concerts.
  24. Uh, no. Early on in his administration, there was an incident involving a black home owner(Harvard professor) who upon coming back from a trip, found that he had locked himself out of his home. Do you remember this? Neighbours phoned the police about a burglar prowling, and the cop came and confronted him asking for ID. He got into the house and then refused to show his ID, and starting yelling about police racism and such. They took him down to the station for his trouble because he wouldn't simply show his ID. He refused. Obama injected himself into this silly little incident and had the cop and home owner sit down to a meeting. That action by Obama said that it's okay to resist the police, and by inference that if they ask for ID they might be racists. When he said that the police acted stupidly, that disrespect was mirrored with increasing regularity. It was this and other comments that Obama made that worsened race relations. Another person wandering through a neigbourhood was stopped by police after a call went in a couple of years later. This person had no ID, and though he was white and a celebrity, the police insisted on ID. They took him to his hotel room where he showed them the ID, and he was then released. You never heard of this incident because it didn't fit the media's agenda of racism. The person was none other than Bob Dylan, and he didn't rant or stomp around and call the police stupid. He simply showed his ID like they asked. Look it up. This issue is a side bar to the election, and I only responded because of the inane comment that Trump has touched off a racist upswing in the US.
  25. No, Obama opened the can of racist worms with several actions that he took and things he continually said. Trump has not helped with his comments about banning Muslims and deporting Mexicans, but those are at least legitimate issues that must be dealt with. Why should Mexicans be allowed to cross the border illegally when so many are trying to enter the US legally? Why should the US take in tens of thousands of Syrians when Iran, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, etc. are so close by and their cultures are so much more in line with Syria's. And you have a tin hat on if you think Trump might bring about the downfall of civilization. In a few days you'll calm down and realize how silly that sounds.
