Suppose a major international type event causes the US dollar to drop 1/3 overnight, say at the end of April. Panic and hyper inflation take over and basic foods and commodities disappear in short order across the globe.
What would you do now to prepare for such an event?

I've read somewhere from a personal account of someone who'd lived through a collapse, is the amount of garbage that quickly accumulated. He said he never thought that garbage bags would be so much needed.

....and while we're at it, don't forget to add needles and thread to your list (for mending), and staple gun and nails, duck tapes, and nails in varying length and sizes.
Also long-burning candles, flashlight, and batteries (for the radio too).

Museums are also a great source to find things that don't need electricity to run...like sewing machines, wash machines, with hand ringers, or steam driven tractors...beats doing it by hand, and gas is not going to last forever, it would be a climate change protestors dream...
