So Hillary has made her decision: http://www.cnn.com/2016/07/22/politics/hillary-clinton-vp-pick/index.html Is this a good choice for the Democrats or a bad choice?
-
I think it is more than decent, it is adult. I could have replied in kind and escalated your "nonsense" with my opinion of your opinion of my opinion on baiting. And I accept your apology.
-
Not sensitive but honest. The issue was warnings, suspensions and their causes. I replied as to my opinion. Targeting? I think not. Profiling perhaps is a better term. If you feel that you are a troll and baiter then that is your opinion. Who am I to disagree with you? My solution to the current problems with censoring and personal attacks here is to get rid of the baiters and agitators. I also suggested as to what method to use to identify them. I stand by it. I am pleased that you took a course in logic. It may encourage you to do the homework I have assigned and then perhaps you will be able to argue rational positions and join the adults on this board in civil dialogue. Perhaps not.

If you are referring to political advancement in the Trump Republican Party then I agree with you. But if Trump is defeated and the moderates (moderate compared to Trump) take back the party then Cruz will be hailed. I have no use for Cruz but I think he just cemented a bright future with the post-Trump Republican Party.

I suggest that under the existing technologies you may be correct. I have been told that the major constraint is the storage of electrical energy. It is also assumed that technology and innovation will lead to the ability to store and transfer electrical energy far more efficiently than to-day. At that point, green energy will dominate.

I suggest that when some politicians are asked to place the following into a prioritized list: Family, Country, Integrity, Party, Ambition, Religion That the order may differ from the rest of us.
-
Why ask me? You are the folks who interpret posts and decide if they are OK or require a warning or require a suspension. You tell me how you distinguish between baiting, trolling, retaliation and reacting? There is one poster here who is involved in the vast majority of threads which have to be edited and/or which lead to warnings of personal insults. You know, I know who it is and if you kept stats (as I earlier suggested) then it would be proven statistically. I know these "confrontations" are good for interest and get more to read and participate - but do not then pretend that you are trying to maintain some semblance of civility. I have never reported a post and do not intend to do so. I would be more than pleased and/or prepared to enter into a verbal duel with any jackass who has tossed a verbal gauntlet at me as long as the duel was allowed to continue until that jackass was revealed. But your selective decisions as to what is baiting or response or trolling or insults end up protecting the jackasses from their due. But, that is only one opinion from one poster but you did ask.
-
If that is the reason then of course there is an excuse. But if there is no other reason than being a jackass and baiting others into confrontations then removing A will negate future problems.
-
Hey mods - here is a perfect example. I post messages that have nothing to do with this poster yet he jumps in trying to create another confrontation. I could reply "I suggest that your expertise probably focuses on Pluto and Mickey and certainly not someone an adult may read. I also congratulate you on starting to use big words like "superficial" and "suppositions". Be careful, superficial has little to do with the focus of your regular reading about Superman (comics) and I suggest that suppositions are not those things you stick into the part of your body which you appear to use for thought." That would lead to a "hey folks cut out the personal attacks" and some posts would disappear. When you allow that kind of trolling then you protect those who are creating your problems here. Why don't you folks have a meeting and decide just how you are going to deal with this baiting?
-
And you expect a future serious response from me to any question from you? I think that I would investigate anything that was important to me and to which I had access to all data. It is the mods who make decisions based on accumulated data and history. I do not have access to it. Do you? I can can suggest some things that you could do. I am sorry I wasted both our times. I will try to not do that in the future.
-
Interesting nonsense. It is not nonsense it is common sense. I'll give you another example; There are four confrontations among people. There is only one person who has been part of more than one, in fact that individual has been involved in all four. I would be investigating that individual as the cause. Who do you think is probably the cause? How would you handle the problem? And please spare me the philosophical jargon.
-
When problems of fighting occur in schools, sometimes the easiest solution is to remove the cause. If one fight involves A and B, while another fight involves A and C and yet another fight involves A and D another one involves A and E, then it becomes obvious who the problem person is - student A. Either force student A to change his behavior or remove him from the school. It is very obvious who student A is in MLW school. There is a solution if you want to apply it.

Nice message! David Duke, the former grand wizard for the Ku Klux Klan, wrote on Twitter: "Great Trump Speech, America First! Stop Wars! Defeat the Corrupt elites! Protect our Borders!, Fair Trade! Couldn't have said it better!" That says it all from a great source.

Keep the stats and let the numbers show who is the problem around here. The numbers are easy to find: Keep track of those who initiate and try to stir up trouble. I have seen many posters REACT to an insult with an insult and then both get a warning and posts disappear. I suggest that if A and B were involved in personal attacks and A and C got involved in personal attacks and A and D got involved in personal attacks then it is very easy to spot where the problem is originating - give A a holiday. That kind of stat is very easy to keep track of and would solve some of the problems.

I agree. It is in the interests of the military to support the idea of an existing threat so that the government can be pressured to spend money in that direction rather than on foreign affairs. When foreign affairs and diplomacy fails that is when a military is required. At this point in time, Canada is not threatened by any major power. We are involved in a civil war where our chosen adversary cannot shoot down an airplane and we are told to "fight them there or fight them here". The only battles we are having here is with the odd crazy who thinks a rifle is his response to the bombings that are taking place in Iraq and Syria. -

I have noticed that too often a mod has to intercede and post: "Folks, Avoid personal attacks". It takes at least two posters to get involved in personal attacks. I suggest that the mods keep track of who is involved and note there is one common poster to most of these "personal attacks" instances - then get rid of him.

Anyone interested in the fish's point of view when the Israelis are shooting the Palestinian fish in the Hamas barrel may find the following interesting: http://www.aljazeera.com/programmes/aljazeeraworld/2016/07/gaza-picture-160719073544389.html Shame!

I am still looking for a simple explanation. It looks like the old "scavenger hunt" of my days but what is the goal? What is the minimal technology that you require to play?

When will we see an affordable electric car ?
Big Guy replied to Cruze's topic in Health, Science and Technology
The 6 feet of hose and an empty gas can in my trunk will no longer guarantee some free gas when needed. Having those little puddles of petrol on the garage floor to warn of problems will no longer be available. That "wake up" smell in the garage when you enter it after warming up the car in the winter will disappear. There will no longer be a place to pour your left over petrol from your lawn mower after you shut it down for the winter. What will you use to destroy wasp and bee nests? "Oh, the humanity !!!!" -
In Toronto and Vancouver, landlords have been making very comfortable profits on rentals while watching their initial investment (property) skyrocket in value. Remember that when housing prices skyrocket in a city, the amount they pay in municipal taxes stays relatively the same.

It will be interesting to see what direction Turkey takes. The army is no longer in control. It is still in a war against the Kurds and fighting in alliance with the Kurds against ISIS. Will Turkey now embrace Russia and look favorably at Assad? With a new death penalty will Turkey thumb its nose at the EU and NATO and ally with Putin? The initial common theme by the media was that Turkey was now going to turn away from radical Islam but Erdogan is moving towards an Islamist state. http://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/europe/turkey-coup-president-erdogan-islam-akp-government-a7142836.html Some media are treating this coup of a coup a good thing while others report that this is bad news for the Turkish people and the West. Not sure yet what direction Erdogan is taking his nation.

In your eyes, looking through your prism, it may. I see you cannot tell the difference and I have no intention of trying to convince you of anything. I also do not like what I see as your worsening aggressive and derogatory attitude towards me. I have stated my position and will stand behind it. I have nothing to add. -

Our coalition continues to create more martyrs and potential suicide bombers: http://www.aljazeera.com/news/2016/07/led-air-strikes-kill-21-civilians-syria-160719045329897.html "At least 56 civilians, including 11 children, were killed in air strikes on the Tokhar area in the northern city of Manbij in the Aleppo governate on Tuesday, according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights. Ten others, including four children, were killed in coalition strikes on the village of Hamira, in the southern suburbs of Manbij." Some more "acceptable collateral damage"? Just what is our association with this coalition doing for Canada other than to make us a target for retaliation terrorism?
