  1. I think Harper is plain crazy in his quest for Quebec votes. Does he not see pumping more and more federal money into Quebec will only make Quebec more dependent on federal aid than ever. Quebec should be made to realize that they are responsible for their own success and if they refuse to deal with the Anglo world to achieve this it is their problem and not Canada's. Harper must be looking for a minority government. Does he not think all other provinces in Canada does not know what is going on? He is playing Canadians for a bunch of fools. They have been allowed to isolate themselves from the real world to much long and have become a culture of entitlement at the expense of the rest of Canada.
  2. Canadian English culture and the English U.S. culture was born from the same mother, a culture that gave us our constitution and English based laws explains why we enjoy English as being the most innovative language in the world and is the reason why this country as progressed so dramatically. What part of the backwoods are you from to think otherwise? Quebec's nationalistic socialistic tendencies concerning their language is what keeps Quebec alive extracting powers and financial aid from federal resources. Why should they invite in evil anglophones to create industry in Quebec when they can blackmail the federal government with threats and violence like from the Quebec terrorist organization the FLQ and with constant threats of separation. Quebec is not exporting their culture, they have the federal government to do it for them. Your phrasing gives you away. Concerning my post and others you also ad lib direct English words and phrases from previous post and use them in your follow up post. It seems you don't have the linguistic capabilities to devise your own sentences properly. Argus is right , you certainly sound like either a French nationalist or French sympathizer. To argue bilingualism just for the sake of bilingualism without the required foundation serves no purpose and is nonsensical Prove bilingualism increases national unity? It seems you like to force other provinces to maintain their commitment to Charter obligations because they signed it (something I previously told you) but have no concern with the fact Quebec, the only province in Canada never signed the new amended constitution. This is strange indeed and shows your bias.
  3. Prove it. Liberals buy votes but Harper is learning fast. You wouldn't know what democracy is. Quebec is accommodating to themselves-NO ONE ELSE. What regions are you talking about. Canada is comprised of provinces in a single country called Canada. Nobody is forced to accommodate Francophone's anymore than any other Canadian.
  4. I was just about to complete and post a fairly lengthily response concerning provincial politics category under "3'500 City of Ottawa jobs to be eliminated", concerning post #207, when advised by my anti-virus program detected an unauthorized intrusion from a source I.P. 134.117.137.191 which is also my source I.P., so the hacking is being done right from the same source I.P. as my own and the hacking done on this site. As a result just prior to posting a dialogue appeared advising me I was not logged in (which is impossible)as I was already in the process of replying. Anyways I pushed the suggested 'save button' nevertheless loosing my entire intended reply. I have also noticed concerning my personal mail certain messages have bee pre-opened in order I suspect to obtain my I.D. As a result when posting anything concerning Francophone's I will post short and sweet and not use the quote feature, as this loss of the entire post concerning the same thread as happened previously and is a waste of time and effort. This will force me to post many times concerning the same post I am replying to.
  5. I share the same sense of an almost unbearable frustration as Argus does. Everything that has to do with bilingualism is federal government implemented and is so undemocratic in nature that it forces one to almost throw up. To think the Charter was actually consented to by the provinces is next to unbelievable. But to be fair the premiers at the time were probably absorbed with the notion of providing french services where required, and never really were that concerned to what has really happened to-day, being the transformation and take over of the major English language by a foreign minority language forcefully pursued by the government of the land and in Ontario's case the Liberal provincial government. This part that makes it so un-nationalistic is that Quebec has its own definition of nationalism and the rest of the country has theirs basically concerning the British win of Canada and the monarchy. For a federal government to try and stamp out the true origins of this country by promoting a minority who associates them self to France rather to Canada is the next thing to treason IMV. Rotbart's view supporting bilingualism while denouncing Quebec does not make sense unless he is on one man campaign to land a plum federal job because of a thick French accent.
  6. Dont hold your breath. The obvious dislike for all things french is apparent. Only where it's forced, I would think, like the federal public service and majority English provinces and cities where federal intervention is responsible for for the requirement and use of French relating to federal style bilingualism. Do you not think guyser, that there is no French hate directed towards English speaking Canadians simply because they form the dominant language, a language Quebecers could use if they wanted to. Quebecers want there unpopular french language to be on the same level as English, an impossible feat without the forces of government. Along came the OLA, that little Nazi type language policy that forces French on the English populous. Why should there not be a dislike for a government sponsored discriminatory French language attack on the majority English language while Quebec remains unaffected and culturally pristine with no federal government intervention forcing English on Quebecers. In either case, the root problem is that government has no business dictating language policies inducing a hate filled linguistic environment. Simple solution, keep French in Quebec where they want it. http://www.tbs-sct.gc.ca/pubs_pol/hrpubs/O...lpf-cplo1_e.asp
  7. Short term pain for long term gain. Why not! Are you suggesting that Harper has a secret agenda? That is, he is pandering to Quebec in order to gain a majority, and once he receives a majority will govern very differently? You mean like the Liberals? Any PM with an ounce of integrity works for the betterment of the country and not for a select few.
  8. Lol. You made my day!!!! p.s. don't hold your beath. Superior intelligence? Seven million well educated people, controlling a superb geographic location, having access to a treasure trove of natural resources and speaking two of the leading commercial languages of the world; yet it is a "have not" province. Maybe with a little luck and with the ADQ demanding Quebec autonomy, the ROC should comply with their wishes and allow them to be fully accountable for their own success.
  9. This is what makes the Charter a joke. It has left itself wide open to corrupt political manipulation and basically has been initially implemented in a corrupt undemocratic manner. The Charter should be scrapped and Canada be made a republic, and only then, will a sense of Canadian nationalism will be formed, establishing a true single Canadian identity.
  10. Even the ones about pandering to your favourite province, Quebec? Short term pain for long term gain. Why not!
  11. Your entire above post is composed entirely of BS and incomprehensible unfounded personal opinion. Your making it up as your going along and refuse to provide citations. There is no sense in carrying this discussion any further based on your method of debate.
  12. 'Citation please'. Your just plain dumb and ignorant. You are justifying claims relating to "stats Canada doing a good job at counting unemployment rate" as the last word, without knowing what they are actually talking about in the ways of Ottawa's or the national unemployment rate. The number of unemployed in Ottawa or speakig nationally or anywhere in Canada is compiled by unemployed Canadians CURRENTLY RECEIVING EMPLOYMENT INSURANCE BENEFITS. There could be 500,000 unemployed people in Ottawa, but if you are not currently receiving employment benefits, you are no longer a statistic and are NOT included in official unemployment numbers. In fact no one really knows what the REAL or ACTUAL unemployment rate is in Ottawa or in fact the country. This site incorporates free speech and for you to label another member 'racist' is against rules of this site. All I will admit is that Quebec incorporates racist policies making it a racist province and the Charter is a discriminatory racist document that discriminates against the White English speaking Canadian. Discriminatory racist policies language policies creates an artificial requirement for the use a phony minority official language within a federal public service that only exist because of a tax base created by ALL of Canada's tax payers and its hiring policies should reflect that FACT. Democratically elected. HA-ha-ha-ha-ha, what a joke. I guess you are not aware that in any federal elction, 50% of the votes are wasted, they don't count for anything. If you want to continue to support a corrupt political system, I DON'T. Well, I am saying 'officially' that the English is Canada's mainstream, majority commercial language. And to prove its official look at Statistic's Canada's own English language numbers. If you want to insist it is not, please provide a citation. Quebec's nationalistic concerns and the desire to be recognized as 'distinct' is one of the main reasons concerning the creation of the Charter. You have a hard time understanding Quebec's nationalism is a natural enemy of federalism. Quebec should practice what they preach and if they want remain aloof and nationalistic let them pay for it with their own money rather than break down our federal political system with corrupt, undemocratic demands. BTW- Founding nations of Canada has no legal weight as the founding nations were originally Britain and France and has nothing to do with Quebec. Founding nations is only a political courtesy as France gave away all rights to Canada.
  13. By being oppressed by judicial rule!!!
  14. Your statement reflects your lack of intellect, lack of research and shows how poorly informed you are regarding federal employment statistics. And I am not going to educate you either. But I will tell you this for what it is worth. You can have 10,000 or 30,000 unemployed Ottawa residents and it will not show in the national or Ottawa's official unemployment rate. It is all federal propaganda, smoke and mirrors and allows Francophone's to flood Ottawa filling phony bilingual federal and municipal and private sector jobs, while Ottawa's real English speaking unemployment rate is well HIDDEN. Well, the point is Mahmoud or Eduardo will not form any type of meaningful statistics in Ottawa's phony bilingual job base, but Francophone's will. Its got nothing to do with ME being racist but I'am simply pointing out FEDERAL RACIST POLICIES and phony bilingualism policies, resulting in a Francophone linguistic attack on Ottawa's majority English job base. There are not very many real loyalist in Canada anymore but simply Canadians that admire our past British history that gave us our constitution. I care about our monarchy, but not to see it badly abused, for greed and power, starting with Trudeau and his discriminatory Charter to basically carry on the war pertaining to the 'Plains of Abraham' based on language and culture. I prefer now to see justice administrated by Canada becoming a republic, which will in turn allow Canadians to be masters of their destiny rather than by, a handful of politicians and judges catering to corrupt politics and Quebec political ideologies. Maybe just maybe you threw the wrong string into Google. Try languages of Canada. It doesn't have to be put in writing by Canadian authorities. All you do is look at the population statistics relating to language and figure it out for yourself. What do you mean? Language policies are part of the Charter, right.
  15. Part I of the Charter does begin: "Whereas Canada is founded upon principles that recognize the supremacy of God and the rule of law:" Yeah! To bad it's only in the preamble and not included as law within the Charter itself.
  16. Let's be clear about Michelle Jean's special qualifications that have helped Canada and Canadians. They are non-existent. In fact her qualifications are counter productive and a source of dissention relating to her connections with Quebec separatist. Of course one of the basic requirements should be recognized by any federal government that the person nominated for GG should be born in Canada. What the Liberals have done to Canada relating to the Queen's representative, have made a mockery out of the process relating to this position with person with a thick foreign accent and not a native to Canada and lacking special qualifications. The only reason especially related to Quebec and the federal Liberal party of Canada, wish to retain our British system of government is to exploit its political powers, in favour of ruling Canada with the law and courts rather than by the people as the case would be if Canada was a republic.
  17. You've managed to be both incomprehensible and incoherent. I will explain it in simple understandable English. Do you really suppose the citizens of Haiti really care what political significance, Michelle Jean role as GG plays in Canada? They only see her as an influential person of their own race, that has the potential to pour dollars into Haiti. This presents a racial conflict into concerning the appointment of a Canadian citizen from a third world country, (into the prestigious position of governor general), who in fact could pressure the government for extra tax payer funds directed to Haiti or some other third world country for whatever reason based on her personal sentiments concerning third world poverty. I always thought relating her appointment as GG, as being a very poor choice concerning what she has actually accomplished, ( a previous CBC employee), for the betterment of Canadians, as there are other Canadians much more qualified for the position.
  18. It only changes Quebec's race. Which reminds of what French radio talk show host have been saying: ' the only babies you see popping out of maternity wards in Quebec are Black and Quebecers only have themselves to blame'. Or loose my job to a Francophone. Seriously, you DON'T recognize how serious the situation is, government dictating discriminatory, racist policies. The country must become a republic. It is really strange indeed how Quebec always shows and demonstrates disdain for the Queen and the monarchy, but love the English system for the federal power it provides to allow Quebec to abuse the system. Our system of being a Constitutional Monarchy and Parliamentary Democracy as been abused to the point where our political system is dysfunctional. A republic would allow real democracy to rule and not by a handful of politicians. Obviously you don't know what a official national commercial majority language is. It's English, get over it. Really doctors and psychiatrist lead the general population in suicides. In Japan some commit suicide for simply being unemployed as they see it as a great humiliation. Imagine how poor Canadians must feel when they loose their home, their car, their wife and kids due to a racist language policy implemented unilaterally by their own federal government. I agree but at the expense of the rest of Canada. just check out the transfer payments and equalization payments and the many federal programs that subsidize Quebecers. There is no suggesting at all, it is a fact that Western culture, highly U.S. influenced includes Canada. Don't you even remember a few years back when Quebecers mocked English Canadians for wearing those boring, dull, brown or grey or black suits. To-day Francophone's exclusively wear those boring dull, brown, grey or black business suits rather their brightly coloured, patterned clothing that they wore previously. This is only a single example. No doubt there are some English speaking Ottawan's that use Quebec as a bedroom community and think they are saving money on the Quebec side but forget about the high taxes. Quebec insurance is a bit of a bargain but then again vehicle plates are expensive. I really don't care who drives the car, all I am saying is if the flood of cars coming from Quebec means millions of lost dollars are leaving Ottawa in the form of taxes and this should be regulated by Ontario in some form of an inter-provincial user tax. There is no real net gain to Ottawa with all that money going over to Quebec. BTW- This is the second time you used 'bitter' to describe trying to stand up for my rights and views as an English speaking Canadian citizen. Grow up and don't be so condescending.
  19. You should try reading up on the 'quiet revolution' and the FLQ concerning the hate for the British and Americans. It has every thing to do with Quebec trying to destroy Canada, all based on language and culture. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/FLQ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quiet_Revolution You are being of course silly suggesting there would be a referendum on every little detail. How is that? The U.S. does it all the time with fair representation with delegates from all independent states. This is not no party. That's the whole point the federal government is forcing especially English speaking Canadians to participate in the federal view of multiculturalism and the Charter. This would be okay if Canada was a state controlled communist country. Sounds to me like it is. Or the French who are already a minority would become a micro minority.
  20. Wow! I think these are sixty reasons TO VOTE for Stephen Harper.
  21. Duh, but you don't smoke nearly as much, and there have not been documented cases of lung cancer as a result of smoking pot. As for kids, yes, I agree. The status quo makes it much too easy for kids to get weed. Black market systems are unregulated and don't restrict access to minors. If you were really serious about protecting children, you would call for a change to the existing system of distribution. You know Bubber, you should really read up on the drug to educate yourself, what could happen to someone like you, by using a toxic substance. http://www.nida.nih.gov/Infofacts/marijuana.html
  22. No doubt Christianity has served its purpose pertaining and relating to the advancement of civilization. But in this country it is no longer required, as we have the Liberals and the Charter to advance us all to being 'elite citizens of the world'.
  23. Because it isnt . What harm is there in it? Duh, your smoking, right, and inhaling more so than with cigarettes. And besides isn't marijuana the popular little drug youngsters start at at an early age? http://www.atlantarecoverycenter.com/Marijuana.htm
  24. What army did Quebec use in its 'quite revolution'? Yes, strikes and unions, Quebec leads NORTH AMERICA in this regard. The 'Charter' and the 'Multiculturalism Act' are fraudulent in different ways. 1.- Both were implemented without Canadians being part of the process. 2.- Quebec is a demanding key player and is the culture 'official multiculturalism' accommodates to the highest degree. 3. -But the federal government excludes Quebec from being responsible to Charter requirements. Even Quebec's immigration is handled by Quebec only, with no federal influence like in other provinces, where for instance it allows uncontrolled ethnic immigration to destroy the English cultural face of Ontario's largest city Toronto with Ottawa a close second with not only ethnics but Francophone's, while Quebec remains a PRISTINE, OFFICAL FRENCH province. COME ON REPUBLIC OF CANADA!!! Because English is the 'official majority commercial language of ALL of Canada, that's why. Is Quebec so far behind the times that they do not know this? Don't you think it is kind of dumb to expect everyone to speak minority residential French just for the sake of speaking French to be nice, when virtually all of North America relevant to including Canada speaks English? You mean you never heard of anyone committing suicide over bilingualism and job loss (either in Quebec related to the English purge or the federal government) or being murdered in Quebec's 'quite revolution'? No one ever segregated Quebec or the Aboriginals. They choose to be segregated by their own free choice, by their own hand and have FAILED to build successful societies and in turn whine and complain and blame Canada for their failure. Go figure! Don't be foolish Quebec has been assimilated and copycat English culture and lifestyle and entertainment into their own LANGUAGE, the only component of culture they kept (apparently) as a weapon to force Canada into supporting their society. You talk as if federal jobs are the ONLY jobs Quebecers come pouring into Ottawa everyday, when you know its ALL jobs, including construction and trades and sales, food industry, automotive and all others, spread across the employment spectrum in majority English speaking Ottawa,Ontario. Quebecers take many and put the English on welfare in their own majority English speaking province and you turn around and say Francophone's have not been assimilated. I don't really know how authorities in Ontario can tolerate the financial rape, pertaining to job loss to another province, especially one that protects and has rules and regulations to protect Quebec jobs from FORIGN CANADIAN'S FROM ANOTHER PROVINCE. What a joke!!!!
  25. Let's be clear what was said and that is all the substances listed are HARMFUL. Why would you be in favour legalizing yet ANOTHER, harmful drug when we are already saddled with legal alcohol and tobacco, at an enormous cost to society? Your not really making any sense.
