Yes, it does happen on a second computer. For example just when I was getting ready to log off after posting here my firewall warning alarm repeately signalled on and off, so I hit emergency lock and sat back and viewed my net activity screen and noticed who ever it is, is from the same IP provider and mine was hitting my computer with a 49-byte file every free seconds followed by 200-byte file using a variety of different ports to try to gain access. So far nothing serious as happened to my programs outside of what I noted. Only if my programs or operational characteristics of my computer are affected will I consider showing my I.P. my firewall log to see if anything can be done. I have a few other things to try to stop these attacks. For now I will write it off as an annoyance.

I don't give you facts since you NEVER provide any. All you provide is your opinion. You will still have to check with NCC concerning ACTUAL lease requirements. http://www.ocol-clo.gc.ca/archives/sst_es/...baux_2004_e.htm http://temagami.carleton.ca/jmc/cnews/13022004/feature.shtml No kidding. Proves again Quebec can't look after its flock and WHY there is no natural bilingualism. I guess this proves French is a dead language and you have to raid cities in Ontario for employment. English speaking jobs in Ottawa are being taken away by discriminatory federal and Ottawa bilingual policies by bilingual Francophone's who must be bilingual if they want to work in English anyways. It is NOT a two way street. Majority English residents are being screwed by these discriminatory policies in their own majority English city. Go and play the language game in Quebec, where they love culture. Better still go over to Quebec and preach your love for bilingualism over there. Culture, language, culture, language, culture, language, culture, language, culture, etc., etc, etc. -

It isn't an observation, it is a fact. It is also discriminatory by holding one hostage to language conditions that was never approved by the citizen's of Canada. These are independent business operators and not an employee of the federal government. Looks like we are back to square one. The point is the English majority don't have to be bilingual and NEVER did. This all came about by federal government intervention with their language policies which led to the initiation of Ottawa's federal style bilingual policy, in turn down to private business catering to that bilingual policy. This is NOT natural bilingualism. If it was, we would have thousands of Ottawa, Ontario vehicles flooding Gatineau Quebec every morning going to their jobs in Quebec private industry, attracted by good salaries which provide the initiative to learn French. It is not the same thing when EVERY CANADIAN'S federal government is doing it with tax payers money. I don't think your in the position to pass judgement on the residents of Ottawa. I don't hate anyone. I despise with venom, the federal government undemocratic policies, that have allowed this to happen. In reality this means nothing. What means something is the federal government allowing Quebec to break the conditions of the Charter. If they won't sign the Charter or new constitution, then a national referendum should be held to confirm whether or not Canada wishes to retain Quebec in confederation. That's the whole point. Quebec's majority language, cannot maintain Quebec ideologies without federal assistance. If they refuse to assimilate, its their business and they go down the tube. Quebec gains directly with federal undemocratic language policies. They don't have to ask. This is why Canada has a great democratic deficit. Mp's and parliament are NOT abiding to and PROTECTING Canadians constitutional rights. -
Done and my system is clean, there was nothing to remove. BTW- How long does one have to post or is there a time limit? Is one automatically cut off from the site or the board closes and is deactivated after so many minutes of inactive use?

I am not making any exception to what I said. French is spoken in Quebec. But when you figure out majorities and minorities on a national bases, calculations must be based relating to ALL ten provinces. This makes Quebec a small minority with its French language in Canada. Well, according to my information, there are two official languages English and French, with French being spoken mostly in Quebec. So common sense dictates, language policies primarily accommodate Quebec because the English don't require any because of its wide common usage. They choose by their own hand to segregate themselves. This is really getting silly as everything you quoted has nothing to do with our VERY IMPORTANT CONSTITUTION except perhaps marriage as it concerns 'freedom of religion' which is a protected right in our constitution and a very old traditon not only involving Canadians but the large majority of countries around the world. Canadians have been denied their RIGHTFUL participation to amend our very own constitution, by a dreadful absence, of democratic rights concerning proper representation from our elected officials. Understand what our BASIC constitutional rights are. -

This is not an advertised thing, but if you were a federal public service employee, you would certainly be aware of this. You can check yourself by contacting the NCC directly. For instance virtually all federal buildings that house private business, restaurants etc., are forced by their lease to provide bilingual services. There are many buildings in downtown Ottawa, in the Sparks Street area, that are owned by the NCC with leases that demand they provide bilingual services. Malls and shops in the Orleans, Ontario not governed by this as these are commercial buildings, nothing to do with the NCC. Orleans is in Ontario and there is no way anyone can FORCE that store to supply bilingual services, as Ontario has never declared itself officially supportive of the two FEDERAL official languages. If they wish to do so as a courtesy is there business. But to point out this is a dangerous policy to hire bilingual clerks in a majority English province as it discriminates against the majority English in the way of obtaining English only employment. This causes an English backlash as to not to shop in stores that do not support the majority English language. I know people who upon finding out if a certain store hires Francophone's to supply bilingual services, they will go out of their way to shop in an English only store. Could you post that link, please rather than post unreliable information. And if your numbers contradict my numbers, I will post my link. I think the federal government in Ottawa and its relationship with the official languages does enough damage in the way of undemocratic manoeuvres and representation concerning languages. Ottawa is just a regular city like Gatineau supported by residential tax payers. I find it totally discriminatory to penalize the tax payers of Ottawa in the way of supporting the official languages, in a federal sense, which is really not the concern of the tax payers of Ottawa. -
Google's latest offering in advanced technolgy, made itself known yesterday, offering high speed internet through your toilet, on its main page. It had a write up how the thing works and what it cost. And to think I even 'googled', conductivity of sewer water to try to get a handle on this new TiSP system. But it was a great 'April fool day' prank. http://www.mercurynews.com/news/ci_5571965 Anyone else get suckered in?

Many stores in Ottawa with NCC leases are FORCED by the federal government to supply bilingual services. Ottawa has a French speaking population of 15% and supplies them with a federal style City of Ottawa bilingual policy. Merchants are encouraged to honour this bilingual policy. I wish I could say the same thing for Gatineau, Quebec which has about the same percentage of English speaking Canadians but does not offer them a bilingual policy like Ottawa. In Gatineau the English population base must be 50% in order for Gatineau to offer its English speaking population a bilingual policy. You cannot demand private industry to supply bilingual services with provinces NOT DESIGNATED or accommodating 'official bilingualism', that is my point. In Canada outside of Quebec, English is the language of business and this is the language the large majority of business utilize. You must think French is a majority language rather than a small minority residential language, dream on. -

It is relevant to language policies. Quebec reneged with their contract to Canada by not signing it. Their should be NO federal language policies of any kind or any other language policies accommodating Quebec across Canada. The Liberal federal government failed to penalize Quebec for their traitorous actions but rather REWARDED them. Yes I can rightfully claim Canada to be otherwise. But begin by describing it right. A democracy is a system of government by the whole population, in our case, through elected representatives who are supposed to: "Within the House of Commons Members of Parliament (or MPs) sit to debate federal legislation. Members are elected in individual riding's based on population to represent and make decisions on behalf of the people of that riding." http://www.thecanadapage.org/Government.htm Canadians have been denied political justice by not being offered a plebiscite or national referendum to settle questions of national concern by their MP's or the PM in the case of a national referendum. Personally I have no respect for a police state. -
Do you know me? I don't know you either.

Good thing. It makes you paranoid. I heard that word mouthed off by you various times. It must be one of the few words in your minuscule vocabulary that you can type when your stoned.

Russians don't insult me at all. What I am insulted by is Quebec, who never even signed our countries constitution and officially discriminates by way of policy against White, English speaking Canadians but yet receives more benefits from the tax payers of Canada, than any other province in Canada. Not quite, buddy. The purpose of our elected representatives is: " Within the House of Commons Members of Parliament (or MPs) sit to debate federal legislation. Members are elected in individual riding's based on population to represent and make decisions on behalf of the people of that riding." We do have 'buddy' a major democratic shortfall of proper representation of constituents throughout Canada. http://www.thecanadapage.org/Government.htm Please read post #188. The demand is artificial the private sector in Ottawa is only catering Ottawa's 'forced' federal style bilingualism policy. What official policy are you making reference to. If there is no official policy, then no one is obliged to cater anyone but simply use the majority language of the land---English. You cannot demand someone speaks to you in your French language without some sort of official policy, nor anyone has to listen to you. -

What democratic policies are you talking about? I don't think anyone really cares whether or not Quebec assimilates or not, but never pull the 'el reverso' and try to force majority English Canada to assimilate into a 'minority French language', but which is ACTUALLY HAPPENING, believe it or not. This belongs in 'Ripley's' as there are not to many countries that would tolerate this kind of federal intervention on behalf of an aggressive, arrogant minority, that is continually trying to force linguistic recognition from the majority English. -

If it is available and relating to on a national scale, why not, but it should be fair. Privately NO. And actually that is the way it should be. The federal government should altogether keep its nose out of providing funding for cultural celebrations period. The official languages of Canada are English and French. Language is a component of culture and officially speaking, federal funding is available to do just that relating to the two official languages. In Quebec it St. Jean Baptiste Day and in the ROC it is Victoria Day and used to be Dominion Day as well. But Quebec unfairly receives the lions share of federal funding to promote these festivities, as compared to funding received by all other provinces in Canada. English cultural history is being obliterated in a national sense by discriminatory federal intervention. -

I guess they don't. Ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-"proove", that's a good one. The one your talking about, I made a 'typo'. But to prove to you I know what I am talking about, go to post #208 and it will confirm "prove it" in fact, ends with a period. Brilliant. But aren't you forgetting about that little war 'On The Plains of Abraham', the English were here regardless. They would not be loyalist, just plain British. We celebrate Victoria Day and Dominion Day. But Dominion Day was taken away from us by the federal government in order to appease Quebec and multiculturalism in general and now call it Canada Day. That is because basically most of the federal funding to do this goes to Quebec to celebrate their St. Jean Baptiste Day. Talk about treachery. -
Would Canada be pulled into a war with Iran?
Leafless replied to Topaz's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
It has been reported that Britain will be sending a special envoy to Teheran to try to settle the issue. "Support for the captives came as ministers prepared a compromise deal to allow Iran to save face by promising that the Royal Navy will never knowingly enter Iranian waters without permission. The Sunday Telegraph has learnt of plans to send a Royal Navy captain or commodore to Teheran, as a special envoy of the Government, to deliver a public assurance that officials hope will end the diplomatic standoff." http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/main.jhtml...01/wiran301.xml -
You never know. I heard a rumour that he is somewhere up in the backwoods of Shawinigan, laminating the 'Chretien logo' to hundreds of spanking new golf balls.
-
Jean Chretien a PM from Quebec served a double term, Nov. 4/93-Dec.12/2003. Regardless the Liberals have always been influential as the official opposition. Are you talking about the dissolution of federal powers to appease certain parts of Canada? The ADQ will be doing the same as the PQ but a little differently in the way of seeking a higher degree of autonomy stopping short of independence. A divided Canada will never work and this aspect is worsening speaking of ethnic Toronto. Why not just eliminate the federal government and get it over with, although personally I would never want this to happen. Mulroney was a French Quebecer. Explains that easy enough. This is something many Canadians don't want to see happen again, a PM from Quebec.

Your browser is only telling you the obvious before you submit a form. Everything posted on the internet can be read worldwide. I don't think we understand each other. I am sorry I even brought this up. I have no problem anywhere else on the net. I even had a dialogue box appear on my screen, not long ago, while posting, saying: " Are you aware this can be read worldwide". Sorry again I even brought this up.

And you will probably never see that type of association again since the sponsorship scandal. The Liberal party has always contained significant representation from Quebec. This is why sometimes I refer the federal Liberals to a Quebec party since they mostly juggle issues around to suit the Quebec perspective. The reality is, that is why we have a dysfunctional political system and always will until we have learned 'blackmail' is not part of part of a countries national objectives. And 'first past the post' system' is a mockery of our political system in a country that contains two main opposing cultures with completely different political ideologies. I doubt if the Conservatives will ever cut it big time in Quebec, with the reason being Quebec is only happy when THEY are running the show, like in the Liberal party. Oh. Why? I don't even see the requirement for equalization payments as the GDP per capita is close right across Canada. Besides in Quebec's case revenues from exported hydro sales to the U.S. are not included in that provinces fiscal capacity. Does equalization not remove the initiative for a province to do well and as a result from receiving nothing in Ontario's case means less $$$ for the province to work with, such as infrastructure for example. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Equalization_payments

Certainly. All you have to do is examine how secretive and manipulating the Liberal government has been over the years establishing the French fact while at the same time destroying freedoms and the true identity of this country. Are you in denial that their are Francophone's actively pursuing their interest at all times?

I find a lot of these programs significantly slow down the speed of your computer. I have been on the net for quite a while and always have been fairly safe without using an anti-virus, spyware program of any kind. I find a lot of these programs significantly slow down the speed of your computer. How do I achieve this, I simply disable everything of importance that would normally allow access to my computer. For instance when I come to this site I enable active scripting and allow paste operations via script and everything works fine and do similar at other sites by enabling only at that time security options to allow me to do whatever I wish to do. If I do get a virus (hardly ever) which is always noticeable one way or other, I simply reload my basic operating system on my special net hard drive and a few other basic programs all within an hour and a half. I do have a firewall but don't really keep it updated and only use it to warn me and partially identify who is trying to gain access to my computer. To clarify what I was saying and should have said about having the same DNS server address but not the same IP address which is different every time you log on the net is what I meant. Anyways when I come here at times I develop a personal firewall log of up to about 60-KB and being warned at the same time of someone trying to gain access to my computer usually through port 1026-1027 being described as NET BROWSING, all within in a short time, whereas usually surfing the net for 1-hr it is around 15-20 KB of log page of UDP, TCP protocol intrusion warnings which I understand does not mean much. This individual or whoever is doing this has the same DNS server address as mine in my area and this is when I have strange things happening just prior to posting on this site. This as happened far to many times to be coincidence by destroying the ability to post, which is just prior to posting a dialogue informs me that I am not logged on to the site which is impossible as I would not be able to reply at all if that was the case. And when you try to save your post by pushing the suggested button, it never works and all is lost. Geoffrey's idea is a good one, that is, if you have time to copy your post before it gets scrubbed.

3,500 City of Ottawa Jobs to be bilingual
Leafless replied to Leafless's topic in Provincial Politics in Canada
So what. Are you telling me EVERYONE in Quebec exclusively speaks French? I never saw any demand for bilingualism in Quebec. You are an outright liar. One minute your talking exclusively and are only interested in federal bilingualism and now you assert the private sector has caught on to the natural demand for bilingualism. The only city outside of Quebec where there is a demand for bilingualism is Ottawa. And that demand is purely artificial, created by Ottawa's forced bilingual policies created by a bunch of left wing French sympathizers including the previous mayor Bob Chiralli an admitted federal Liberal supporter. Seems to me that the Liberals have been democratically elected. Most politicians find ways of defrauding the system one way or another, but that doesn't mean the government infrastructure is any less democratic. You can't even read your understand own quote. "1. The political orientation of those who favour government by the people or by their elected representatives". In Canada our system allows 'government by our elected representatives'.----WHERE IS THE REPRESENTATION? They tow the party line and DO NOT REPRESENT THEIR CONSTITUNENTS---You know like a communist country. Your point is not valid, simply because Quebec is a province in Canada part of the majority English provinces that form Canada. If Quebec refuses to acknowledge the majority commercial English language, then they are totally wrong as Quebec is not some sort of exclusive reservation, but are in fact and benefit greatly from federalism and the other majority English provinces in Canada that support Quebec has a 'have not province'. Racism charges---- How can I be racist when Dion is White and I am White? (reported) Is this a communist country? I like many Canadians think that the leader of the opposition with prime ministerial capabilities, while retaining French citizenship, is an insult to Canada and shows a definite lack of respect for Canada and Canadians at large. Even if the U.S. was not there you would have more British influence and English speaking influence than ever. Remember it was not France who won the war on 'THe Plains of Abraham'. Tell us about the big wig jobs some of them have or had with the federal government after returning from exile in France where they were originally kicked out of the country to Cuba? You don't even understand what I am talking about. Whatever that is suppose to mean. Asking you to 'prove' bilingualism increases national unity, is not a command, it is a simple question asking you for evidence.
