  1. Thereby making that half-assed solution even more useless.
  2. Yeah but that is the whole point of the legislation that is being presented to prevent terrorism… by revoking passports we essentially leave our trash in countries that can ill afford to have said trash, and by revoking citizenship we create a two tiered citizenship basically saying if you are Canadian you are our problem, but if you are "Canadian" then you are not. We need to walk a tight rope for this, if we erode our own right in order to guarantee more safety in the short term we could end up hurting ourselves in the long run. We need strengthened laws and more power to the police but it needs to be balanced by the need to remain true to ourselves, by this I mean we need to give the powers and strengthen our laws but we should not erode our rights and freedoms.
  3. How would one prove a suspect, that traveled overseas was involved directly with "terrorism" so as to revoke their citizenship/passport?
  4. Equate Terrorism to treason, you get yourself involved with terrorism and then want to come home you have to serve time in prison.
  5. What does taking his passport accomplish in a situation where (s)he wants to attack a target within Canada? What does revoking his citizenship accomplish since he was if I'm not mistaking born in Canada? Neither one of those laws would accomplish much in the way of prevention.
  6. Is that the issue or is it that this will cause some union members to lose their jobs? By your logic we should start meals on wheels for everyone regardless of age or ability because out demographics will change at some point in the future. If in 20 years there is more demand for mail delivery then by all means we should make it available. But the same way that our demographics are changing, technology is changing and in 20 years we likely will have significantly less demand for snail mail. Be honest, this is about union jobs and nothing else…the elderly/disabled issue is nothing but an excuse because you don't want to come out and say what you really oppose about this change.
  7. And if we can negate the hardship those individuals would face? Then what? Tell me, aside from the disabled/elderly question what other issues do you have?
  8. Ok you are right… we should keep this program because of the elderly and disabled. Canada post has to deliver to 100% of the people because 10% of the people may not be able to get to their mailboxes.
  9. In my last building the mailman spend about 10-15 min sorting out the mail in to the mailboxes and it was a building with around 120-140 apartments, then he can spend about 20min/day 3 days a week delivering to those who are marked for door delivery and chances are that unless it is a retirement community there wouldn't be that many homes of retirees and disabled.
  10. And if it is then Canada Post can provide to their Door delivery 3 days a week and the problem is solved.
  11. So if Canada Post is profitable we should leave it at that? So when the government of Canada gets a surplus we stop looking for ways to save money?
  12. What can the police Really do if the individuals are only talking without action?
  13. I don't think this has much to do with Iraq, you don't wake up one day and decide to run over one or more people, it might be blamed on Iraq but he would have been thinking about this for a while. Seems to me this might have been an attempt to copy the Lee Rigby attack but for whatever reason he failed to carry through with the second part of his attack. As for Iraq, I am with you. To me a military action has to be aimed to solve the problem instead of just poking the problem with a stick. This mission will cost a lot of money, while accomplishing very little if anything.
  14. I don't even know why I keep answering you… I know you are a troll, we all do.But let me see if I can enlighten you for the last time... It seems that you are in the minority who seems to think this idiot is anything but a religious nut. The opposition has already started demanding why the RCMP has not arrested the suspected extremists in the country, which is kind of funny since they would be the first to cry out if those same extremists were arrested before a terrorist attack.
  15. Only for those who think it is their religious duty to kill everyone who is not of their particular brand of religion...
  16. Milking this gift? Only you and a small select group of "Canadians" would be happy with wounded or dead Canadian Soldiers… The only group that will be "milking" this event would be likes of you to deny that terrorist activities could happen in Canada just because of your "political" position. I remember we had this argument a few months back and you had no clue back then and it is only getting worse.
  17. Thats the problem, you are not saying anything about religion but claiming mental health issue when the evidence so far points to intentional attack… don't let evidence get in your way...
  18. http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/montreal/martin-rouleau-quebec-driver-fatally-shot-by-police-radicalized-1.2806104 Absolutely right… must be mental health issue cannot possibly be religion.
  19. Hopefully he has his 72 Virginians already...
  20. How often do simple hit and run incidents end up with a shooting? There may be an actual threat that the government knew about but we weren't informed about or on the other hand it might just be Quebec Police officers garbing some revenge for the injured soldiers.
  21. I thought by international court you meant ICJ.
  22. And what would an international court accomplish? The way it is set up at the moment if the issue in front of Russia and Ukraine is to be decided by say the International Court of Justice any ruling they make will not be binding for Russia unless they willingly accept that Ruling.
  23. Why does it matter who voted for Obama and who didn't? Voting for an individual doesn't mean you take his/her position on everything and more important, they are entitled to their privacy when it comes to voting just like every other person in democracy. Is this all you can come up with?
  24. Or we let the Kurds, Shiites and Sunnies go their own way and protect their own people because it seems to me that lines on a piece of paper dont make a country. In the conflict against ISIL the Kurds seem to be the only once who fight back with any degree of success. They might be more likely to fight that much harder. Right now our options are boots on the ground, beat ISIL after a decade long war, go home rinse and repeat; leave ISIL to their own devices in Syria and Iraq or try something new and see if they are willing to fight for themselves.
  25. I meant more as being in the UNSC brings nothing to the table, allows no more power to anyone side or nation in The SC. So Venezuela is a UNSC member? So what? It doesn't change the balance of power in any way shape of form.
