Why would I... I hit on each of your so-called gripes and you turtled after that with nothing logical to say other than your typical 'liebral' bullsh1t. It's making sense... you're a barn rat aren't you? 😂

I'd gladly trade you for a 6 pack of new immigrants. Canada looks at immigration numbers every year in consultation with provinces and business. Less people in our economy means more pressure on our social programs with the lesser taxation. Canada needs to allow as many immigrants as the data results say. Whether you agree or not is irrelevant because it needs to happen.

Americans Pretending to be Canadian
LinkSoul60 replied to TreeBeard's topic in Canada / United States Relations
So why a Canadian pretending to be American... For the moral standards that have been set? -
You successfully pointed out why we need immigration. Those menial paying jobs are generally meant as the stepping stone for the younger generation as they continue schooling or are simply gaining skills. If a person aspires to do as little as possible they'll inevitably be paid as little as possible....which we see a lot of today. If a person aspires to be something and works hard at, they most likely reap the financial benefits of that hard work down the road.

Americans Pretending to be Canadian

So you think a guy who at one time called Trump reprehensible and an idi0t, but later sold his soul for political gain is someone who has his morals in place? -
Major CFL Rule Changes: Like or Dislike?
LinkSoul60 replied to BeaverFever's topic in Travel, Leisure and Sports
What it means is that the product on field is of the highest quality which means the fan is getting that perceived value. I'm not at all suggesting CFL players or the product isn't good, it's just not the quality of the NFL. It's a different game so of course you'll have more passing in the CFL. They have to go the same 10 yards in 2 plays versus 3 (not including 3rd/4th down) and have a bigger field which lends itself to more space to throw the ball. From my perspective the average 'fan' wants to watch the best possible competition (product) and not who has the most exciting plays. I'd compare these two leagues similarly to how I look at the AHL versus the NHL. The AHL is top to bottom full of guys who are fantastic hockey players, but most not good enough to make or stay in the NHL. That doesn't you're not going see quality hockey when you watch an AHL game, you're just not going to be watching the best players playing against each other in the best league. Nostalgia isn't going to keep the CFL viable...more people engaged and paying for the product will. Advertisers are not going to spend money trying to attract/influence people if small audiences are watching or attending games, and owners are only going to hang on for so long before they cut losses. I think the CFL is doing the right thing in looking for ways to make it a more attractive product for the masses. Otherwise, to keep it the same and not do anything differently would ultimately mean its failure. -
The question was 'what has he done to destroy making Canada great'. Your reply is all 'if', 'unless' and 'maybe' which means little to nothing when answering 'what has he done'.

Americans Pretending to be Canadian

I'd suggest it's the complete opposite... Tough guys or non-cowards who are supposedly passionate of their countries enlist when called upon. Captain Bone Spurs deferred enlistment 4 times for college and then a 5th because of a bad case of bone spurs. Now he just wears make-up and depends. Find a new tough guy hero. -
In order... What has Carney done to destroy making Canada great? Most people believe in sovereignty and are against war. Your take is let a communist nation overtake others? Nobody's forcing anyone. Incentives are incentives...EV or ICE. Choose what you want. Nobody is allowing crime to continue and nobody wants to be the 'Poilievre Angels' like you angry sacks want to be. They're not 3rd world refugees. In some cases they come from underdeveloped countries. How will a pipeline make YOU rich? Pipelines are only creating jobs during construction. After that a limited amount. Who's grabbing guns? What are you talking about.... You're on crack. Didn't some POS in a bad fitting blue suit say critical coverage of him was 'really illegal' and pushed hard on some late night show host and network (who ultimately told him to FU). Free speech, whatever... What agendas specifically don't you like, and how do you think they could be improved? He's only been in the seat for 6 months so I'll give him more time. Anyone else you can think of would have solved the problem known as Trump by now? What, that all you got right guy? 😂

They took the most practical approach but didn't 'just sign' a contract with China. It was a bidding process that some chose to decline (us) and was awarded to what they thought was the best value vendor. You know the facts....BC needs new ships and reliable ferry transportation yesterday, not a decade from now.. A lengthy list of reasons why it is but it is what is... Next time, best be Canadian if the ship building industry and governments learned anything.

I left the workforce before CPP2 was introduced but that is intended to provide that balance of higher retirement pensions for those paying into it as costs continue to escalate. Can't find any recent comments but in 2022 CPP Investments said the program was financially sustainable for the next 75 years. I'm on the fence with the age parameters for CPP and only because it's your money, not government subsidized. I can see a scenario where the median age of 65 is not touched. Where I do see the larger social benefit challenge is with OAS. That is wholly funded through government tax revenue and as we get older needs to be dealt with and aligned to our longevity. That I fully support increasing the age to 67.

Pierre Poilievre continues to get DESTROYED in public opinion polls Mark Carney leads Pierre Poilievre in net favourability by 32 points “Poilievre’s personal favourability remains poor, as the CPC leader continues to struggle to resonate with Canadians.” “Unfortunately for Pierre Poilievre, he continues to struggle to resonate with a larger group of Canadians. The CPC leader’s personal favourability continues to hover in the mid-30s. He has failed to reach 40% since taking over the CPC leadership in 2022.”
