Not worth responding to each comment, you complain about them all. I get what's happened the past 20 years you're talking about but what do you want to do about it today. We just elected a new government 4 months ago. Good to see you get that the assets drive the ETF's price. The point is who cares what Poilievre or Carney have in their portfolio's as long as it's managed compliant with ethics laws. And you can't be serious saying Poilievre has a diversified portfolio and Carney only cares about Brookfield stock. The guy had a portfolio of 500+ entities. Is your problem with Carney or with Brookfield?

My stats are from Government of Canada health site. I get your buddy's had an adverse affect but that's like saying I got the flu and my buddy didn't so the odds are 50% you'll get it. Stats don't work that way. Everyone had a choice and if you chose to struggle paying bills because of your vaccine beliefs, that was your choice.

No, fortunately haven't been in the situation of chasing a thief out of my house. If I had though I doubt very much I'd be thinking too much about liberals or conservatives or ndp or greens. Interesting you do. Did you expect the liberal government to have the RCMP outside your home as protection? Not following... Trudeaus fault for what.... and what does England have to do with anything.
-
I get your point but your point is based on a headline and what little they've reported, not all the facts. Again, I could be off base here but I get the feeling these two guys hang out at the Sketchy bar together and got into for whatever the reason. Won't know until we hear the reasons behind the charge. Until then, no national self-defence crisis and just Poilievre being Poilievre.

Comprehension is a challenge for you isn't it.... Good for you in using basic human instincts. Well done. Guessing it was Trudeau's fault the police didn't follow-up? I'd ask where I said or inferred that protecting yourself, your family, or your home wasn't justified but you're going to read what you believe regardless of what's said.
-
You don't seem to understand that we haven't heard all the facts (to the best of my knowledge) yet appear to have made your own assumptions which I'm sure you believe are the unknown facts. I acknowledge that. Protecting your family and home is basic human instinct. It is not a politically or law based reaction, it's a natural reaction and basic human instinct, even for liberals. Whether it be with your bare hands or any other weapon available you're going to protect your home, family and yourself regardless of what the law says. There's a point though where common sense applies... assume someone was walking through your backyard and you chose to go beat them into submission because you perceived them as a threat to your home and family. In yours and Poilievres world, is that acceptable? But back to it.... the entire facts of 'break-in' and arrest haven't been made public. I've seen and read what you have and saw the interview of a common 'buddy'. Could be wrong but I get this feeling we're going to find out it's like I said....'2 troubled guys who had a disagreement and one of them using excessive force'. Nothing more than the typical Poilievre tough guy talk that turns people off....
-
That's real debatable given his voting record...
-
Just another affirmation of why Poilievre turns people off.... Yes Pierre, you're a tough guy and everyone agrees we should be able to protect our families and homes, which our laws already allow for. This was nothing but a 'keep me relevant' proposal, if you can call it that. The guy was charged for a reason, and it wasn't because of weak laws. These guys knew each and I'm guessing that when the facts of the apparent break-in come out we'll hear about 2 troubled guys who had a disagreement and one of them using excessive force. Can't blame Poilievre for trying to stay relevant I suppose, but pick and choose better spots to do it Pierre...

They must have something if 2 courts have now ruled they're invalid. A president can only apply tariffs in event of national emergency which he claims is illegal immigration and flow of drugs from oversees. Seems like a stretch to me and a real stretch applying tariffs to every country in the world.

Because he was a far better choice than the a-hole who thought he was Canada's version of Trump?

But to exflyers question.... what's not true or unfairly said?

Voting records are totally relevant. It tells you what an elected official stands for, and doesn't stand for.

Those 10 trans athletes sure did leave quite the legacy. You dipslits still can't stop talking about them. They are totally authoritarian and I didn't lose anything.... not American. -

You'll never know. Your ideals fit perfectly with what the wannabe dictator is doing so common place for you. -

Distractions do have consequences.... The master of distractions Trump has you on the path to authoriatarianism and you're still worried about transgenders. But hey, those ~10 trans out of the ~500K+ NCAA athletes sure did ruin the world... Fire the labor stats keeper because he didn't like the facts, fire the Fed Governor because he wants to influence rate policy, fire the Director of the CDC because her vast academic credentials don't align with Trump's view of infectious diseases, remove military leaders that don't have the same view of the world Trump does, bring in the national guard and military when cities don't want it all for the show of power, change the Smithsonian exhibits to align with Trump's view of history, etc, etc, etc.... That's what banana republics do, and that's what the US is now. -
We've only had a liberal government to fund media grants... It's obvious that people are easily influenced, even conservatives.

Global Warming: Man-Made or Natural?
LinkSoul60 replied to Deluge's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
Kind of an odd graph to try and make a case against climate change.... Have you looked at the frequency of extreme weather events now versus recorded history? https://www.theguardian.com/world/2025/jun/17/nasa-data-reveals-dramatic-rise-in-intensity-of-weather-events New data from Nasa has revealed a dramatic rise in the intensity of weather events such as droughts and floods over the past five years. The study shows that such extreme events are becoming more frequent, longer-lasting and more severe, with last year’s figures reaching twice that of the 2003-2020 average. -

Exactly how do the investments spent on mitigating climate change drive people into poverty? You may want to consider the fact that climate change is a reason for the higher costs of food and goods because of damage to crops and supply chains disruptions. -
There's two sides to every debate... and it can be as easily said that conservative voter opinions were/are based on opinions of others they've found in conservative leaning Toronto Sun, National Post, G&M, etc... Whether there were more liberal or conservative voters who 'allowed their opinions to be swayed', we'll never know. So yes, it is what it is.

I challenge you to look back at any post I've made in this forum and cite one instance where I've 'excused' or supported the last 10 years of Trudeau's government. Try to remember that I live in the same country and understand yours and others constant rehashing of the same challenges we all live in. I know them very well. Trudeau's gone though so maybe time to get over it...? It's interesting, and expected I suppose that conservatives in this forum think that anyone who supports Carney naturally has to be a life long liberal supporter. My vote like a lot of others had everything to do with the skillset and persona Carney brings, and the skillset and persona Poilievre lacks.
