Got the exact quotes on that? He's dropped all federal barriers. Now it's up to the premiers. You do know the difference between Federal and Provincial, I hope. I think parliament has to be sitting to do that. And yet you continue to make it so. Yes, Trump is a disaster! The election was 78 days ago. Politics and international relationships do not transpire overnight. You're so intent on seeing Carney (and the country) fail you're looking like just another ovine cultist prat.

ca.finance.yahoo.com Mon, July 14, 2025 U.S. President Donald Trump said on Monday that the letters he sent to Prime Minister Mark Carney and other leaders about new tariff rates are "the deals", "I watched a show this morning and they were talking about, 'Well when's he going to make the deal?' The deals are already made. The letters are the deals. The deals are made. There are no deals to make," Trump said during an Oval Office meeting with NATO Secretary-General Mark Rutte. No one can negotiate with this Terracotta Turd!

You have no proof of that. Sad, but your extreme partisanship makes you stupid sometimes. -

What deals? The UK has a signed "framework' to work toward a deal. Vietnam got something similar but Trump pulled a 'bait-and-switch' where an agreed 11% tariff was suddenly 20% on the final draft so Vietnam refused to sign. And now because he's out of ideas we're at 35% because of the " over "fentanyl pouring the border" excuse again. But the 35% doesn't include energy or fertilizer, or anything covered by Cusma. But then there's 50% or whatever on steel, aluminum, and copper. Who knows WTF is going on. The EU decided to drop their DST, now they get 30% tariffs, like Mexico. It's not just Carney: NOBODY can deal with this Ginger Jackass, and they probably shouldn't even try. What would the Americans do if nobody showed up to negotiate, if leaders stopped taking Trump's calls? We'll be hurt for a while but the US will be committing suicide if they keep this up. People may promise, but there won't be much investment in the US soon, and I'm no economist but I think the Bond Market will exact a high price. -
People in glass houses... The Canadian Press Published Aug 28, 2012 "Pointed questions are beginning to swirl around Nigel Wright, Prime Minister Stephen Harper’s chief of staff, and whether he used his position to further the financial interests of friends at Barrick Gold Corp. On the advice of the federal ethics watchdog, Wright set up a “conflict of interest screen” when he joined the Prime Minister’s Office." Postmedia News Published Mar 23, 2012 "Prime Minister Stephen Harper indicated Friday he has no intention of punishing Christian Paradis after the federal ethics commissioner found the industry minister to have been in a conflict of interest after arranging meetings for former Tory MP Rahim Jaffer." BTW: I see PeePee has no qualms about doing a CBC interview now that he's becoming irrelevant. Reeks of desperation.

Is Democracy in Canada Dead?

wtf? Our (Western nations) peace and prosperity came about as a result of of the international banking and trade system set up after WW2. And the decades since have seen good government, by both parties. And why wouldn't we have access to our friendly neighbour's market? It's a mutually beneficial partnership. What does that have to do with our wealth and peace? Over 99% of Canadian haven't served in the military? Don't know what you're implying. -
New York 2025/07/11 CNN — "President Donald Trump’s shock-and-awe tariff campaign is off to a slow start when it comes to reviving American manufacturing jobs. While it will take time for the full impact to play out, the early results suggest that not only have tariffs failed to inspire a hiring boom, but the chaotic policy rollout is paralyzing businesses. Economists and trade researchers say the haphazard nature of the trade war is compounding the longer-term pressure on US manufacturing. Even as Trump spiked tariffs to levels unseen in nearly a century, the manufacturing sector lost a combined 14,000 net jobs in May and June, according to federal data." LOST JOBS ACCORDING TO FEDERAL DATA!

This was a heart-breaking tragedy. But my question is: Regardless of politics or emergency services, why would anyone build in, or live in an area called 'Flash Flood Alley' unless they had no choice? Why do people even build in river flood plains? What do insurance companies think of this? What are government policies on this?
