  1. You have no proof of that. Sad, but your extreme partisanship makes you stupid sometimes.
  2. So you think the US Dept. of Defense are a bunch of idlots?
  3. What deals? The UK has a signed "framework' to work toward a deal. Vietnam got something similar but Trump pulled a 'bait-and-switch' where an agreed 11% tariff was suddenly 20% on the final draft so Vietnam refused to sign. And now because he's out of ideas we're at 35% because of the " over "fentanyl pouring the border" excuse again. But the 35% doesn't include energy or fertilizer, or anything covered by Cusma. But then there's 50% or whatever on steel, aluminum, and copper. Who knows WTF is going on. The EU decided to drop their DST, now they get 30% tariffs, like Mexico. It's not just Carney: NOBODY can deal with this Ginger Jackass, and they probably shouldn't even try. What would the Americans do if nobody showed up to negotiate, if leaders stopped taking Trump's calls? We'll be hurt for a while but the US will be committing suicide if they keep this up. People may promise, but there won't be much investment in the US soon, and I'm no economist but I think the Bond Market will exact a high price.
  4. The Canadian Press Updated: July 11, 2025 "A Reuters poll of economists heading into Friday’s release had expected the jobless rate would rise to 7.1 per cent in June." The point is the results were so much better than the experts' expectations, who factored in seasonal jobs in their predictions.
  5. People in glass houses... The Canadian Press Published Aug 28, 2012 "Pointed questions are beginning to swirl around Nigel Wright, Prime Minister Stephen Harper’s chief of staff, and whether he used his position to further the financial interests of friends at Barrick Gold Corp. On the advice of the federal ethics watchdog, Wright set up a “conflict of interest screen” when he joined the Prime Minister’s Office." Postmedia News Published Mar 23, 2012 "Prime Minister Stephen Harper indicated Friday he has no intention of punishing Christian Paradis after the federal ethics commissioner found the industry minister to have been in a conflict of interest after arranging meetings for former Tory MP Rahim Jaffer." BTW: I see PeePee has no qualms about doing a CBC interview now that he's becoming irrelevant. Reeks of desperation.
  6. That's the idiocy of it. Americans are the ones paying the tax. What do you think a tariff is?
  7. That's why you can't find liberals who will stoop to speak to you on your level. This seems to be a thread started by a 'cultist loser'. (Damn, I'm sinking to your level. I keep promising myself I won't do that.
  8. wtf? Our (Western nations) peace and prosperity came about as a result of of the international banking and trade system set up after WW2. And the decades since have seen good government, by both parties. And why wouldn't we have access to our friendly neighbour's market? It's a mutually beneficial partnership. What does that have to do with our wealth and peace? Over 99% of Canadian haven't served in the military? Don't know what you're implying.
  9. New York 2025/07/11 CNN — "President Donald Trump’s shock-and-awe tariff campaign is off to a slow start when it comes to reviving American manufacturing jobs. While it will take time for the full impact to play out, the early results suggest that not only have tariffs failed to inspire a hiring boom, but the chaotic policy rollout is paralyzing businesses. Economists and trade researchers say the haphazard nature of the trade war is compounding the longer-term pressure on US manufacturing. Even as Trump spiked tariffs to levels unseen in nearly a century, the manufacturing sector lost a combined 14,000 net jobs in May and June, according to federal data." LOST JOBS ACCORDING TO FEDERAL DATA!
  10. The US is an authoritarian state now. The Republican majority will never stand up to Trump, and a backward right wing Supreme court will let him do almost everything he wants to. As close to a dictatorship as you can get.
  11. Sounds like wishful thinking. You can move with him, be room-mates since you're of the same ilk. (And since you're 2 good-looking white guys, ICE won't bother you, unless they think you're gay.)
  12. I don't get it. You hate it here and want to be an American. Why haven't you moved yet? We don't have a wall on our southern border. Go! Don't delay! Buy a Maga hat and some Trump perfume and you'll be in hog-heaven!
  13. Not true. Read my post again. Yeah, a dumb boycott by the Cons. A fhucking national election and they decide not to go on a huge national network? Even you should be able to see how stupid that is.
  14. It's very different. These are the people we entrust to spend our money, ensure public safety, and hopefully help make life better.
  15. Another mistake by the Cons. They could have been on CBC every day presenting their viewpoints but decided to stay home and sulk. CNN is very left leaning but Republicans go on all the time. Why stay away from a large audience? Dumb political move.
  16. Should the CBC be creating/carrying entertainment? They've done great things in the past but the media universe is so large and ever-present, maybe they should stick to news, information and documentaries.
  17. I wonder that too. I also wonder: For all the good conservatives want to do why does so much of their rhetoric seem so divisive? In general, our politics are too divisive and partisan, but I think they've always been like that with some exceptions. What's the alternative?
  18. Well, we don't know the whole, inside story on this yet, but I would agree CBC needs to reign in some at the top, cut way back on the bonuses, and put more emphasis on local programming. But I do not want to see them throw out the baby with the bathwater.
  19. This was a heart-breaking tragedy. But my question is: Regardless of politics or emergency services, why would anyone build in, or live in an area called 'Flash Flood Alley' unless they had no choice? Why do people even build in river flood plains? What do insurance companies think of this? What are government policies on this?
  20. No. Some people are disgusting people, period. You know that's true and yet you malign half of the population. When they go low, do you have to follow?
  21. Poilievre made a career out of that and thought it would make him PM. What happened?
  22. Of course we couldn't take on the US. Duh! But you and Cdnfox sound more like a fifth column every day.
  23. Not my definition, dude. It's from The Urban Dictionary, so it must be true, right? I can agree with that.
  24. WTF are you reading? (or smoking) Whatever you're consuming it's 'garbage in, garbage out".
  25. Your posts would be 90% shorter and still 100% ridiculous if you didn't say left4rd ever second word. From the Urban dictionary: Right wingnut: Someone in the blogosphere who is identified as being politically on the right. Usually a f*cktard. "The right wingnuts at Little Green Footballs are going nuts over Bush's TANG memos." You need a better source to cite.
