  1. You don't make sense. What I said is more like "You can't walk into a bank after hours."
  2. I worked construction many times on military bases. First we had to be finger-printed and have background checks done to be allowed to work there. Anyone with any kind of record was refused clearance. Then we had to sign in at the entrance every morning and produce ID to see if we were on the list of allowed workers. Once in we had a lot of access to bldgs. Proabably too much. The unionized civilians would all be gone by 3:00 at the latest, leaving large work areas totally abandoned while we were there til 4 or 5:00. On Fridays everybody, military or civilian ,was gone by noon, leaving the place deserted except for our crew. Weird. Amd when we built a top security communications and intelligence bldg (we even had to leave our phones at check-in), we had to be followed and observed at all times by commissionaires. Except that they quit at 3:00 and we stayed til 4:00. So much for high security.
  3. Quebec came close to winning their second secession referendum in 1990. Had they won they most likely would have remained with a 'special' status, something like they have today as a 'distinct society'. (Want to see a distinct society in Canada go to Nfld.) Had they achieved secession it would have been worse than Brexit for them and they would have applied for re-entry. They recognise this now and there is very little appetite for leaving. Same is true in Alberta. At the time, had Quebec seceded I thought the Maritimes' best bet would have been the 51st. But that was when the US was a normal democracy. Now 51st is the last thing we would want.
  4. Trust me, Canada won't break up. But the US is essentially 2 countries now, red (backward Christian theocracy) and blue (democratic modern society). You're a married couple who hate each other but have to live in the same house til the divorce comes through. Maybe that's when Alaska and Maine (and a few others) become provinces.
  5. So we'll take Maine along with Alaska. Maine has Acadians and lobsters and a lot else in common with us. Maine for the 12th!
  6. You do know using crown land is a privelege, not a right, don't you. Can you saunter around a military base any time you want? Can you enter a Federal or Provincial bldg at 3:00 am? Nova Scotia: "In Nova Scotia, access to Crown land is generally a privilege, not an absolute right. While Nova Scotians are welcome to enjoy the natural beauty of Crown land, accessing it often requires permission or adherence to specific regulations, particularly for activities beyond basic recreational use." Canada: "Restrictions: Right of access is not absolute. Certain areas may be closed for specific purposes (e.g., wildfire risk, resource extraction), and activities like building structures or cutting trees without authorization are prohibited."
  7. Yeah, you can police the roads. Try policing the woods in New Brunswick. (Before or after the fire has started) The few polls taken show citizens are overwhelmingly in favour of the ban.
  8. Strategically, economically, politically there is a strong undercurrent to 11th, momentum is building. Quick before Fanboy Trump gives it back to Putin! navalreview.ca Alaska – Canada’s 11th Province Published 1 February 2025 "We're seeing some suggestions that we buy Alaska and make it the 11th province. The original Alaskan Purchase from the Russian Empire in 1867 (the same year Canada became a country) was for $7.2 Million USD ($142 Million in 2023 USD prices, or $206 Million CAD in 2025 prices). Canada could be generous, though, and round-up the purchase price offer to a cool $Billion CAD - just to be fair. I’m sure Canada could persuade Governor Mike Dunleavy to become the 11th Premier of Canada with free inter-provincial/territorial trade with the rest of Canada. The residents of Alaska would very much like to become Canadian citizens vs Donald Trump’s alternatives. Not a bad deal to become citizens of the True North Strong and Free. There are some things that would have to be negotiated beforehand though. A positive vote (50.1% will suffice) from all Alaskan residents. Once the vote has been taken, US Military Bases/Equipment would have to go to Canada once the purchase was finalized, or President Trump would have to negotiate those things away to the Canadian government and establish a US Consulate in Juneau, Alaska. And, of course the Gulf of Alaska would be re-named Gulf of Canada. For all of that, Canadian Alaskan Residents in the Province of Alaska would receive more-than-generous free health care, dental & pharma-care and $10 a day (CAD) child care, Old Age Security (OAS), Canada Pension Plan (CPP). Oh yes, Trump’s 25% tarriffs on Canada would not apply to the Great Province of Alaska! "
  9. If only it were that simple... https://opencanada.org/china-canada-relations 11 July, 2025 "Chinese Academy of Social Sciences also elide the reality that the hardening of Canadian policy has been driven primarily by public opinion and government assessments that the CCP’s agenda and actions are harmful to Canada’s interests, rather than by ideology or American pressure. Canada’s growing threat perception is due to China’s support for Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, regional aggression, cyberattacks, espionage, transnational repression, mercantilist economic policies, and “wolf warrior” diplomacy. Foreign (Chinese) interference sparked a series of formal Canadian inquiries, heavy media attention and the expulsion of a Chinese diplomat. But all that passes unmentioned in recent Chinese commentary. Chinese counterparts had found Stephen Harper difficult to deal with because of “his notorious anti-China stance” according to a People’s Daily article that called him a “stubborn donkey”. China’s state-supported EV exports create complex dilemmas: they offer consumers cheaper vehicles and policymakers a means to reach net zero emissions and other green transition goals more quickly and affordably. But they also threaten to decimate Canada’s legacy automotive sector and stymie efforts to foster an infant domestic EV industry. Hence the tariffs are not only a signal of North American solidarity, but also a necessary policy alignment to prevent cut-price Chinese EVs diverted from the US being dumped in Canada. Canadian national security officials also share American cybersecurity concerns about connected vehicles running Chinese software." Yeah this sucks big time, but it's not a surprise. The World's economy is a series of games of political Jenga. Pull the wrong block and a pile crashes. Better to not pull a block in many cases. Better no deal than a bad deal.
  10. Then why do you hang out in the Canadian forum every day? Secret jealousy? I respectfully invite you to Phuck off.
  11. Don't let the facts get in your way, be more Trumpian! No one has denied people access to the entire province. And these bans have happened before. I know these facts don't fit your self-pitying narrative but I think you'll survive (If the fires don't get ya). Sorry kiddo, once again you look uneducated and stupid by choice!
  12. You need to read a little more if you think 'settlers' haven't forcibly taken Palestinien's homes. BBC 27 August 2024 Israel has approved a new Jewish settlement here, taking away privately owned land for new settler houses and new outposts have been set up without even Israeli authorisation. Amnesty International: May 15, 2025 — For decades Israel has been confiscating Palestinian land and demolishing Palestinian homes often to make way for the construction and ...
  13. Alaska will be the 11th province. It's their smartest move.
  14. "Hi everybody, your favorite president here, the Fabled Genius, always working to keep America safe from democracy. You heard my little oopsy the other day about going to Russia to hang out with Vlad the Invader. The cat's out of the bag, we're letting Russia keep Alaska so we can have peace in Ukraine. Won't that be nice? Is Alaska named after Baked Alaska? We have Baked Alaska at Mar a Lego, but sometimes it's too hot so I told the chef we want half-baked Alaska. And Jeff Epstein liked his egg foo young if you know what I mean. But maybe Canada wants Alaska for a province, that's what they call states up there. I mean look at it it sticks out like a cauliflower ear, like somebody took a pencil and drew a line. Then Alaska wouldn't have to pay tariffs or doctor insurance... wouldn' that be a beautiful thing? Many people have said so. And me and Vlad and Vlod and Mark, we'd play a round of golf and I'll get my Nobull Prize...And we're going to Investigate Biden for Pearl Harbour- never would have happened if I'd been president...Well, gotta go, RFK's gonna give my my shot of bleach and shine a flashlight up my ass, maybe he'll find Giulanni....."

  16. OMG! I'm psychic! Trump told reporters: “You know, I’m going to see Putin. I’m going to Russia on Friday." To be clear: Trump is meeting Putin in Alaska, not Russia.
  17. Just Americans stealing more land. Surprise, surprise! Build a wall around the US to keep you id!ots in.
  18. Seems more like you are avoiding mine. Sounds like a 'Final Solution'.
  19. Hey, he gets that $50,000 signing bonus
  20. That's right. And those powers we grant them allow them to do reasonable things like temporarily banning woods travel during times of extreme fire risk brought on by extreme drought. Have you seen what's happening across the country? Now NB has announced a ban on any forest activity, while NFLD has had to declare an emergency in one area. They even had to pull fire fighters out from one fire because it's too dangerous! These temporary bans are right and sensible!
