I think it is reasonable to assume Trump wanted the Liberals. I don't think he was using reverse psychology here because when he came out and said he preferred the Liberals, it was during an interview where he was being pressed about the fact that his comments were hurting conservatives in Canada. It doesn't seem like it was a planned statement. But the real proof is in the result of what he was doing. After he talked about annexing Canada the first few times it was obvious that it was boosting Liberal popularity, and he continued to do it.

Pierre has a real movement at this point. There is no reason to kick him out. And it has only been a few days since the election. I wouldn't be in any hurry to make drastic decisions. I don't think it's communism.

The grassroots indie media movement has to get bigger. Another big problem is that it's still hard to break into the boomer audience. I've said this before and I will say it again. I live in the Maritimes where people vote Liberal, and a lot of these older people are very conservative if you ask them what they think on most issues. They still don't know how far left Canada has gotten. A lot of these people despise Trump as well, but I bet you if you put them on the other side of the border with no CBC a fair number of them would vote for him.

Well, if he brought up the 51st state it certainly does not sound like he was respecting our sovereignty during the call. Let's be honest here. Carney wanted to appear like he had Trump under control, and he lied about it. It was also reported that the same source who told this to the media also said that Carney told Trump that he would have to talk tough about him and America, but was looking forward to working with him. If he reports something true that no one else reports then I would say he provides valuable journalism. I don't trust any of them 100%.
