Again, I already told you. It helps if you actually respond directly to what I say. For as much as Ukraine has to sacrifice to move troops here... the same goes for Russia having to sacrifice to move troops to counter... You presented this not as a proposal, but as a done deal, as if Germany cut the funding. You said: "And now some countries are withdrawing their support to ukraine , germany being one of them" Except, Germany has not withdrawn anything yet. You presented this as present tense, not future plans... maybe. I have corrected you every step of the way, and it is such an obvious fact and silly at this point that you have not conceded that you were wrong. I am not here to quibble over your thoughts on the F-16s delivered... it was your characterization that nothing was being sent anymore; this was just one example to show you that military equipment was indeed still flowing into Ukraine. My point was and is that you characterized this as if it were present tense... when it is a proposal in the works for 2025. Nevermind, that Europe has been working on other ways to help fund things with the frozen Russian assets as well. You presented this as if, yet again, your all doom and gloom outlook on this, that somehow this was the end for them. Hell, you did not originally say they were cutting funding in half either, you presented this more vaguely to start as if they were stopping all funding. I have posted sources as well. To the point I have made, that your opinion is rather meaningless compared to what Ukraine thinks and has a strategy for. They are the ones on the ground fighting this every single day. I gave you a source explaining their motivations and strategy. That is not my opinion. Yet, you just dismiss it as all being a waste, in your opinion.

Casual Racism is all the rage at the DNC
User replied to West's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
"[Trump] did that, and we're sitting here talking about the White women. F--- the white women– excuse me – forget the White women. They’re going to do what the White men tell them to do," Barry continued, eliciting laughter and clapping from Campbell. -

34 Times... what? It was the same thing, just 34 payments. The jury was given bad instructions by the Judge and the law they were told was broken was a contortion. A Jury operates in the framework they are given. Criminal rapist? Nope. -

This is your way of hiding from reality... just like you cowardly hide from me. Criminal... how? Oh, you mean the bogus contortion of law in New York? No, I don't give a crap about that and it will almost certainly be overturned on appeal. -

It is not irrelevant. You brought it up to make a point. Now you say, you may be wrong... so, why is it so hard to just admit you don't know, don't have a source, and were just going off of nothing? I did not say anything about believing in evolution vs faith here. -

No, it really isn't at all. I am not asking you to show me what proof you have that Genesis is metaphorical, I am asking you to explain where you get this statement from: "Almost all biblical scholars regardless of religious beliefs consider Genesis to be metaphorical and not literal" Where do you get such information about what "almost all" biblical scholars believe that you can make this assertion about them? -
I think Trump, being the clown he is, completely butchered saying something profoundly true. The Medal of Honor is awarded to people based on death and/or serious injury where almost certainly others did die in horrific combat circumstances. He was trying to say that the Civilian award is better because those getting it didn't get it based on people dying in combat and being significantly wounded. You don't get to "celebrate" someone getting the Medal of Honor the same as you do the civilian award. You talk to people in the military who have the MOH, the Navy Cross, Bronze or Silver Stars... they don't generally go around bragging about how they earned them, as if it were some individual effort of great accomplishment free from any bloodshed. Its not quite the same thing as being proud of your Achievement Medal for doing something above and beyond to create value in your field, like a mechanic keeping all the vehicles running well... The issue, again, is that he lied and trumped up his service to more than it was.

They are still holding it now, pushing more forces in. Given Russia's slow response, things are looking good for them so far. I already explained the gain. If it takes Russia as much time to push them out as they have been doing on the other Fronts, they could hold this for years. That is 2025 budget. We are still in 2024. You tried to claim they stopped funding now. This is still a proposal as well. Again, this is an exaggeration. The US has been shipping them weapons, we just passed a huge spending bill for them. They just got F-16's... you can see all sorts of articles showing military aid is still flowing in. Like, how many times are you going to say this when it is not true? They are committed to 2024 and what is being talked about is spending in 2025, which has yet to be finalized. We are already on our way to 1 month... this is always the story for the past 2 years now. Doom and gloom, Ukraine is going to fall any moment now... we have been in this discussion for months here now. Nor is it all doom and gloom as you portray.

Yes, you are the one here asserting what all of these biblical scholars say... where did you get that from? What literature did you read? -

Again, what do you base this claim on? Do you have some kind of poll or something that shows "every legitimate" biblical scholar thinks this? -

Yeah indeed! Thanks! I am! Done! So, what is it then? -
Do you have some insight on their exact troop placements to know they have no protection on the flanks? Looks like the have more of a plan than you give them credit for: https://www.cnn.com/2024/08/18/europe/zelensky-kursk-incursion-second-bridge-intl/index.html Where do you get this is for no real gain? Your presumption being this will have no outcome on the conflict... Where do you get this information from? The last think I read, 3 hours ago, is talking about what the 2025 budget will look like, with perhaps some reductions... but there has been no official budget cuts to supporting Ukraine as of yet. Really? Putin has struggled with an effective response. Ukraine continues to take more land in Russia. My God man, you have been railing on here about how much land Russia keeps taking and Ukraine has taken more Russian land in a couple of weeks than Russia has taken all year from Ukraine. Putin has had to pull troops off the lines and scramble other units together to put some kind of response in place. This is what, the first time since WWII Russia has been invaded? This whole thing changes the narrative Putin has been spinning for his people. I just can't... I can't with your constant exaggerated down playing of this while you have been on here touting over and over again how much land Russia gains. You claim you are not a cheerleader, but almost everything you say is overly negative about Ukraine and overly positive for Russia. Which ones? Not Germany. Funds for 2024 have been allocated. What "tap" is being turned off? Ukraine just started getting F-16s this month too. Right now, Russia is losing more of its own territory daily. Vastly more. Where are you getting this? You dodged the question again. You can sit her and tell me exactly what you think about this incursion into Russia... but you can't say yes or no to surrender? This is why folks like me start to really question your motives here on top of what I outlined already about how you portray things.

Well, so far, you seem to like to respond to no one in particular as if it were the latest entry into your diary.

Did Biden Backstab Himself?
User replied to WestCanMan's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
Biden is still the sitting President. Well, maybe I guess. He certainly isn't fit to be and it is a scandal the media is not demanding to know how the man unfit to run for President is somehow still fit to be President. I digress... Harris is his VP, so... what are her thoughts on this? Oh, gee, I guess she doesn't take questions... Like, for real, your big take here is that this isn't a big deal because Biden is not running anymore? Really? -
Republicans have given up on healthcare
User replied to Matthew's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
This is not quite how it works... Employers offer health insurance plans as they are required to for full-time employees and are incentivized to do so by decades of tax laws that give them some tax benefits of doing so. Yeah! Big government bureaucracy controlling our lives. There are any number of what are called High Deductable plans they can offer as well as copay plans. They do not all function as yours and with the high deductable plans you can have a savings account you can contribute to tax free. Which, the government doesn't keep up on, as health care costs increase, they do not increase that account contribution limit to keep up with the deductable costs. Yeah! Big government bureaucracy controlling our lives. High Deductable plans are actually wonderful for those who are young and healthy, you pay almost nothing for your insurance and only pay a little for routine doctor appointments. Also, most of these plans cover the costs of routine checkups and care appointments. So, there is no out of pocket either way. Most employers offer separate plans for these. You can also use your savings account for these expenses... which again, isn't enough to cover it all. Yeah! Big government bureaucracy controlling our lives. LOL, no. Like Social Security, these are entitlement programs we all pay into our entire working lives. The government is taxing our income for almost 50 years at almost 1.5%. Even then, there are several Medicare plans, only those who worked a certain time qualify for the best, and as you said, you still pay some copays on top of it. No, it is not. They call it that... but there is no way to expand it, as it is entirely based upon taxing people their entire working lives... if you start giving this to everyone... it isn't Medicare for all anymore, it is just Universal Health care, but that name doesn't poll as well so Democrats have to be deceptive, because hey, look, if its good enough for Grandma and Grandpa, then why not everyone! Nevermind all the other negative crap that goes along with Medicare. Doctors hate it, many won't even see patients on it. Why? Because it is a government bureaucracy and trying to get paid is like trying to get milk from a bull. It is not worth the hassle. I am not looking forward to this at all. But... I have been forced to pay into it my whole life... and just like Social Security, I could do better on my own without it. The average person has no idea what it does. Only as time has passed and people have forgotten what little they did know, has it barely started to poll over 50%. It was not popular at first and it was mainly passed on a lie, one of the biggest lies ever told by a President over and over again. It was a crap law that didn't help most of the people, targeting the extreme minority. The few good things in it could be on one page, yet the law was almost 1,000 pages long of... you guessed it: Yeah! Big government bureaucracy controlling our lives. Oh, on this we can agree. Republicans seem happy to go along with the status quo for the most part or just opposing all the bad crap Democrats want to do, which is still good. I wish the Republicans would get serious about incentivizing private health care plans, like car insurance. Instead of giving employers all the tax incentives, give them to the people. It would be amazing if I could just pay out of pocket for all the day to day stuff and pay for actual insurance to help if I get cancer or some other crazy unexpected thing. Let me see the costs and negotiate what I want and the level of services I want. There are doctors who do this today, where you can buy into their family practice for like 100 bucks a month and go as often as you want... imagine how much better that would be for everyone to go where they want, get what they want, and have more control over their choices. Then let insurance be insurance, cheaper because you are only using it as insurance when needed. -

Is Caitlin Clark not Gay or Black Enough for the WBNA?
User replied to a topic in Moral & Ethical Issues
The market is already saturated. We have the NBA. Women don't usually watch sports and men are already watching the NBA. I tried to watch a bit of the WNBA this last year only because Caitlin Clark was playing and it was like watching paint dry. Its like going from Xbox Graphics to Nintendo 64. Its just not fun to watch. Bill Barr had a great joke on this in one of his shows, where he blamed all the women in the audience for the WNBA being a failure. Don't blame men. If all the women started watching the WNBA, it could be as much or more popular than the NBA. -

OK... so, what do you think? We are both arm chair quarterbacks here with zero real information on what their operational plans are. So, what is more realistic here, that Ukraine is on some kind of Kamakazee mission here with no care or regard in the world for how it ends? Or, maybe they have plans and strategy... maybe that doesn't work out exactly as planned, because war is hell or maybe this does work as intended but with some costs... because war is hell. I trust that to them, this was worth it, as they are the ones doing it. What is your purpose and motivation here in criticizing it? You are playing at the angle that men are dying... well, is it just that you think Ukraine should have sent these men to die somewhere else on the war front instead? Because your criticisms are coming across as if *anything* Ukraine is doing is going to be a waste of men. Well, no, it isn't. The point of the question, is as I alluded to above, is that your criticism come across as if anything Ukraine does is a waste. Even now, I ask a fairly straightforward question about what you think... you come up with this and end up saying it is up to them. Well... so is pushing into Kursk too, but you have lots of opinions on that. I asked this because it seems you are angling at this entire war as hopeless. So, do you want them to surrender?
