There is no incentive for the officials to get something done in a timely way. And we have a LOT of red tape. And there's no punishment for parties that DON'T get things done. There just tends to be an attitude in the public of 'oh well, i'm sure they'll get there some day'

It isn't. He's got decades of actual relevant experience both as gov't and opposition, his track record in committees etc is fantastic, he is extremely knowledgeable. But - seriously he was part of teh gov't in power for about a decade. And he did his job quite well. And so that makes him unqualified to be a politician? Your credibility is slipping again. He has been a high level mp under harper while they were in gov't and done very well in committees and doing his job, he's been a strong finance critic catching a number of issues others missed. He won a very decisive victory at the leadership in the face of serious competition so he's shown he also knows how to rally people. The guy is definitely competent to run the country. And he looks competent to run a campagin. So probably not premature yet.

Absolutely it was. The fliers who used it said it was. The security forces that had to deal with them said it was. The people it incorrectly assigned to quarrantine said it was. Well there's not much in there i didn't know already - most of it's been known for quite some time. There's the usual interesting points - we've got about 20 years of boomer baby bubble to get through before we stop being topheavy, we need immigration to hold our population levels and definitely to have growth. The statistics aren't hitting on teh important stats tho, such as what percent are able to fluently speak one of the official languages (i understand that's getting better) and what's the dollar figure being spent to upgrade housing and education and medicine to deal with the increased population. Speaking english or french is noted in research as being the single most significant factor in how fast newcomers will close the income gap between what immigrants get paid and what natural canadians do . Employers prefer natural canadians for several reasons and it takes time for an immigrant to be thought of that way - speaking the language helps immensely.

Well more than that actually - the app created a disaster the moment it came out. So basically it buggered up our system for more like 2 years. But hey - whats a year or so when you're busy apologizing for your favorite corrupt hero Yeap - it was so poorly designed and user unfriendly that staff spent most of their time dealing with in stead of speeding things up it slowed things down. It was trash. But - trudeau wanted to be able to track everyone even more like any good dictator would so we got the app. But that's why he couldn't keep it mandatory. THe airport delays were his fault. The passport offices were his fault .The problem with customs was his fault. The problem with air travel rights is his fault. Please - you couldn't BE defending him harder if you were being paid to do so. These are all areas of responsibility that not only is he in charge of but that he received warnings about that there were going to be massive issues with if ignored, and he ignored them. I'm sorry but you're not correct. They operate under the offices of the federal ministry of transportation. And the customs and security people are all federal as well. While the buildings and such may be locally controlled etc the actual things that are causing the airports to screw up are indeed federal. Sorry if you were unaware but this is most DEFINITELY a federal problem. Sure it is. It's just better than the complete disaster it used to be. And that's after years and years of warnings and begging the trudeau gov't to take the necessary steps to avoid the disaster in the first place - which out of incompetence and indifference he chose not to.
