Sagan was a science fiction author. He has about as much credibility as Hunter Biden trying to lecture us on the evils of cocaine. These are the FACTS: 1. The greenhouse gasses protect the Earth from freezing and from reaching surface temperatures of 250 degrees during the day. 2. 97 percent of all greenhouse gasses is WATER, (which is not surprising since about 70 percent of the entire surface of the earth is WATER. 3. CO2 makes up less than a percentage point of all greenhouse gasses and humans make up less than a percentage point of that. Termites release more CO2 into the atmosphere than ALL human activity combined. 4. The earth has cooled and warmed LONG before there were humans. The climate has change LONG before humans came here. To suggest that somehow a few humans on SEVENTEEN PERCENT of the surface of the earth can somehow change climate is Downs Syndrome stupid. There is stupid and there is BLUE STATE STUPID

There are bugs on the windshield of my car here in Florida who would score higher on a college SAT than you, assuming you ever made it out of the third grade. A wrongheaded left wing OPINION RAG and you try to pass it off as a SOURCE? And you wonder why everybody says liberals are such idi0ts. -

The facts do not agree. CO2 is not even a percentage point of all greenhouse gasses. And humans do not emit that much CO2. As my reliable sources have proven, TERMITES release more CO2 than ALL HUMAN ACTIVITY. The vast majority of the earth's surface is WATER. 97 percent of all greenhouse gasses is WATER VAPOR, which HUMANS HAVE NOTHING WHATSOEVER TO DO WITH. Those are the facts. Get your head out of your ass. -

By the way, boys and girls (and this will definitely give away my age) I went through Hurricane Alicia in 1983. I was supposed to be in LaMarque, Texas (a small town between Galveston and Houston.) The tropical storm was making its way across the Gulf. Around early Tuesday, local news sources said that the storm had STOPPED some 100 miles off the Texas coast and was building up strength. It became a small but powerful Category Three storm when it hit Galveston, roughly Wednesday morning around one ish. I remember because the hotel staff woke us up and made us all meet at the central part of the hotel, where the lounge was. All these people had bought pillows and blankets and were sacked out on the dance floor. There weren't that many hotel guests, but a lot of folks were coming in looking for shelter. You could hear the storm from inside. It sounded like a locomotive. The hotel was without power until late Friday night. The city of Houston just shut down completely and for a couple of weeks, you could see the semis going into the city with loads of glass to replace what was blown off the buildings. No one has to twist my arm to get me to evacuate, if there is a need. And by the way, hurricanes don't just hit Florida. Some of the worst hurricane damage of all time occurred in New Orleans because of Katrina. -

First Atlantic sort of Hurricane of the season. It's July 14. Two and a half months of nail biting. Then we're safe. -

The Weather Channel reported the Gulf at 90 degrees. That was the only source I consulted. It was probably a mistake to trust them, since they are the idi0ts who had St. Pete evacuate the barrier island TWICE for a storm that never went anywhere near them. As far as others in the Miami Herald reporting the heat for this summer, Gee! They know how to quote weather people who know how to read thermometers. Bottom line, if a hurricane hits that, it's going to be a rough ride. And of course, the left wing faction of the News-Press just HAD to try to blame it on human caused climate change. And that of course is a lie. Humans cannot change the climate. Humans cannot warm a small town or cool a small town, much less and entire planet. What we are seeing here in Florida is PERFECTLY NATURAL. Nature actually FROZE this planet, killing off the dinosaurs. Nature then warmed up. Human activity as far as the greenhouse gasses go, is LESS THAN A PERCENTAGE POINT. That part is science. I've already cited a reliable source. There is NOTHING humans can do about various parts of the planet warming or cooling. It is sheer idi0cy to suggest otherwise. Still, there IS snow in the District Of Columbia this summer. Actually, warm water FUELS hurricanes and helps sustain them. Thunderstorms (which can turn into hurricanes) are products of changes in barometric pressure. -

By the way, boys and girls (since there are some goose steppers here who look at video gamers as scientists) Florida is having an unusually warm summer. The Gulf is a record 90 degrees. What does science have to say about that? From SEVERAL sources, I have discovered that these lab coats have decided to NAME this phenomenon. They are calling it an Atlantic El Nino. Whew! We can all sleep better tonight, knowing some hack who looks at flawed computer models all day long has NAMED THIS, just as in the late 80s some other hacks gave us the original El Nino to NAME a similar type warming trend in the Pacific. Florida may get hit by a hurricane or it may not. Certainly the scientists who are most vested with warning us in time do not have a fcking CLUE. TWICE they had the St. Petersburg area evacuate its barrier islands, only for Gulf storms to slam into the Gulf coast, 100 miles south. So they are little more than just items of entertainment. They have no clue. In the REAL scientific world, warm ocean waters are fuel for hurricanes. If one gets out of Cape Verde and gets past the Windward Islands and Cuba, we're going to be in for a rough ride. And AGAIN, this is water WARMED BY THE SUN, with heat held in by the greenhouse effect, NINETY SEVEN PERCENT OF WHICH IS WATER. Remember, the planet was warmed and cooled AND EVEN FROZEN long before humans came on the scene. -

Here's an idea: GET A FCKING JOB AND GET OFF WELFARE, YOU FCKING MOOCHER. Grow a brain, since it is obvious you dropped out of an inferior BLUE STATE SCHOOL. I have substituted for second graders who don't act as butthurt as you do when they don't always get their way. And they are smarter. CRAWL BACK UNDER YOUR ROCK, NAZI TROLL. Apparently ALL you see is the back and forth. You're not too keen on FACTS, probably because you don't have any. You're just a goose stepping, hate filled NEO NAZI who acts butt hurt when you lose an argument. TAKE A MIDOL, FRAULEIN. -

MOTHER NATURE HAS FROZEN AND WARMED THE EARTH LONG BEFORE HUMANS APPEARED. And again, TERMITES RELEASE MORE CO2 INTO THE ATMOSPHERE THAN ALL HUMAN ACTIVITY COMBINED. AND CO2 IS LESS THAN A PERCENTAGE POINT OF ALL GREENHOUSE GASSES. 97 PERCENT IS WATER VAPOR, WHICH COMES FROM THE OCEANS WHICH TAKE UP OVER 70 PERCENT OF THE EARTH'S SURFACE. THERE IS NO WAY HUMAN ACTIVITY IS WARMING OR COOLING THIS PLANET. THERE IS NO WAY HUMAN ACTIVITY CAN CHANGE THE CLIMATE ANYWHERE ON THIS PLANET. Humans cannot make it rain during a drought. Humans cannot stop a blizzsard. Humans CANNOT divert a hurricane. Humans CAN'T EVER WARM A SMALL FCKING TOWN IN THE DEAD OF WINTER. You really are now starting to sound like some of those special ed Downs Syndrome kids I used to sub for. They hear facts and continue to repeat crap. I only know the facts and science. You are the one who denies science and facts. -

Nasa NEVER said conclusively that human beings are capable of changing the climate of an entire planet (which by the way, THERE IS NO SUCH FCKING THING.) And substitute teachers like me (WHO BY THE WAY, I'M OFFERED ACTUAL TEACHING POSITIONS AT ALMOST EVERY SCHOOL I SUB AT, YOU MORE ON) pay taxes so lazy fat ass bums like you can get welfare checks. -
You have NEVER cited a reliable source. EVER. The first post of this thread (since you seem to be too fcking STUPID to scroll back) is backed up by a reliable source, something you're too fcking stupid and stubborn to realize. It is SCIENCE. And it is fact. And FACTS DON'T CARE ABOUT YOUR BUTT HURT FEELINGS. Take a Midol, Fraulein.

2. Telling someone that they hate themself is garbage discussion. I wish people who discuss in this way would go elsewhere frankly. Imagine all the superior educated mainstream conservatives here who have to deal with garbage discussion from the uneducated left. We aren't suggesting they go elsewhere, (although the local JOBS office might be a step in the right direction.) -
Florida doesn't want you. We want EDUCATED citizens. Right now, even the MEXICANS here (the ones who came as migrant workers and wound up buying and running actual farms) contribute more to our tapestry than ANY uneducated left winger from an inferior blue state. Enjoy the snow, the smog and the HIGH TAXES.

Nope. Human activity has NOTHING to do with those storms. Humans take up only 14 percent of the planet's surface. We've already gone over the termite thing and you've already lost that argument. Hurricanes are NATURAL occurrences. Human activity has NOTHING WHATSOEVER to do with them. Humans also cannot warm up or cool down a small town in winter or summer, much less a PLANET. I don't think climate change is a hoax. The climate DOES change in certain areas. The climate HAS changed over the history of the EArth. The HOAX is that human activity is involved. Only the DUMBEST carbon based life forms are spewing that lie. -
This CLIMATE has not changed for over a century. 1. Hot in the summer. 2. Usually a lot of rain in the summer. 3. Mild temperatures in late fall 4. Cool temperatures in Winter. 5. A hurricane every five or ten years, that NOBODY is able to predict. A history of Florida hurricanes. https://www.florida-backroads-travel.com/florida-hurricane-history.html Cedar Keys Hurricane 1896 Great Miami Hurricane 1926 Okeechobee Hurricane 1928 Labor Day Hurricane 1935 Hurricane Donna 1960 Hurricane Cleo 1964 Hurricane Betsy 1965 Hurricane Camile 1969 Hurricane Eloise 1975 Hurricane David 1979 Hurricane Elena 1985 Hurricane Andrew 1992 Hurricane Opal 1995 Hurricanes Charley, Frances, Ivan, Jeanne 2004 Hurricane Dennis 2005 Hurricane Wilma 2005 Hurricane Irma 2017 Hurricane Michael 2018 Hurricane Sally 2020 Hurricane Ian 2022 Hurricane Nicole 2022 Because Florida stretches so far in different directions NO ONE HURRICANE affected the entire state. Some affected the lower Atlantic Coast. Some affected the Peninsula. Some kicked the shit out of the West Coast. I was living in Orlando when Hurricane Andew (A CAT FIVE) slammed into the Miami area. We just experienced mild rain on that day. NOTHING is going to change this climate any time soon. There is ZERO evidence to suggest that one day Key West will have 30 inches of SNOW in July. Just not gonna happen. Florida is a part of the EARTH and the EARTH determines our climate. Only a total mor0n somehow thinks human activity can affect our climate.

This is not climate news, you twit. This is a business decision. The climate is not changing. To bring your uneducated skull up to speed (and I worked in insurance in the late 80s so I know), insurance companies are required by law to maintain a legal reserve of funds necessary to be able to pay off claims for the various groups of clients in certain pools. In Property/Casualty (which requires the MOST education to get licensed and pays the least in commissions) if the cost of replacing or repairing an automobile, a house, ANY structure becomes too high, the insurance company has to pay out higher claims and faces several options: 1. Raise premiums in a competitive market, which will cost a lot of business. 2. Create special pools for higher risk clients, (inner cities where there is more crime and vandalism, coastal areas, etc) Their premiums are raised in that class, leaving the rest of the clients with stable premiums. 3. Have the government shut them down when that legal reserve goes below the limit. Farmer's insurance apparently didn't have that many clients in Florida to make staying in this state profitable. What you all forget is the fact that there are TONS of start up insurance companies who will come here and set up shop and take those Farmers clients. By the way, the left wing Tampa Bay Times is lying. The average homeowners insurance bill in Florida is less than half of that. https://www.bankrate.com/insurance/homeowners-insurance/florida/ And let's not forget that the LAST devastating hurricane that damaged this state to such a degree occurred in 2004 (Charley). Ian was in 2022. Blue states have unnatural disasters EVERY DAY thanks to their Neo Nazi governors and legislatures. They become high cost, high tax, low job HELL HOLES. The aftermath of Ian is not as disastrous as the aftermath of Democrat inner city policies

1. That's oversimplified. Even if you want to attribute something like mortality to politics only, why not consider state or national governments ? It doesn't pass the think test. Whenever a liberal loses an argument, it's always "Oversimplified." That means YOU CAN'T SPIN THE TRUTH. Is what Deluge said correct or not? A or B. Are the largest concentration of black people in Democrat run large cities? And could it be because if THIS racist redneck?
