It is because oil and coal companies are run by people who are so greedy that they are happy to run subversive campaigns to fool people into believing that climate change is a myth. They don’t care about the environmental devastation they cause. You can look at every group fighting climate change, and behind it, you’ll find funding from Exxon Mobil, Scaife, and the Koch Brothers. Their effectiveness is so powerful that Newt Gingrich made a campaign promise that, if elected President, his first act on his first day would be to sign a pipeline deal for the Koch Brothers. That’s some serious political power.

And you still can’t even write a sentence in comprehensible English.

Robert Kennedy Jnr 2024

WTF, dude? Are you American or Canadian? Can’t I very easily call you a racist by pointing out that there are racists in Canada and America? Besides, Rabin was the Israeli leader who was trying to make peace with Palestine and put an end to the conflict. So your attack makes no sense. If you want to start a thread claiming that Israel is the racist nation in the Mideast, start one, but you’ll quickly realize how absurdly incredibly racist it is to point a finger only at the Jewish nation in the midst of all the Muslim nations. -
No they do not. This is about Trump, who you fools still worship. Some guy doxxed justices. Not the leader of the Democratic Party. Not a democratic senator. There’s no equivalence. Hillary mishandled classified information. She didn’t steal it. She didn’t retain it. She didn’t lie to investigators. Trump stole classified information. He retained it. He lied to investigators about it. There’s no equivalence here at all. Where your ridiculous Whataboutisms really screw up is when you invent laws. Donald Trump clearly broke the law. He said himself that people who steal classified information belong in prison and his DOJ put people in prison for it.

Tell us why. How much electricity does one windmill generate? How many windmills can fit on one acre? How much electricity does one small town consume? According to the European Wind Energy Association: ”An average onshore wind turbine with a capacity of 2.5–3 MW can produce more than 6 million kWh in a year – enough to supply 1,500 average EU households with electricity. An average offshore wind turbine of 3.6 MW can power more than 3,312 average EU households.” According to the US Census Bureau, a “small town” has a population between 25,000 and 50,000 residents, and an average of 3 people per households, so a small town has between 8,300 and 16,700 households. 8,300 households, divided by 1,500 households per windmill requires 5.5 windmills. Wind is not consistent, so double the number and spread them out. 11 windmills to power a small town.

We have had many “hints” of climate change. It is unquestionable. We can measure higher concentrations of atmospheric methane and CO2. We can measure the clear reduction of ice in the Arctic. We have seen a clear increase in the number of highly powerful hurricanes, such as those which destroyed New Orleans, Puerto Rico, the Bahamas, and much more. We experienced unprecedented forest fires which even destroyed entire towns, including some quite large suburban towns. We saw orange skies which lasted weeks. These things have not happened before on this scale and they are becoming commonplace in the west and Canada. We saw massive ice storms hit Texas and take down its power grid. We can scientifically measure these things and compare the frequency and severity of these events against historical records to prove decisively that, unfortunately, the predictions are sadly true.

Donald Trump tried to illegally overturn the results of a Presidential election, culminating in a violent attack on the US Congress. That is on Trump. He belongs in a prison cell for doing that. Hard stop. You aren’t allowed to violently overthrow the government. He didn’t just attempt to violently overturn the election results, but he also tried to intimidate officials in Arizona and Georgia AND he also tried to have fake electors falsely certified in several states, in an attempt to have Congress assign the false electors instead of the actual electors. That isn’t political. It is criminal. Trump’s own lawyers told him over and over that he’d lost. He simply refuses to accept democracy. This is his own doing, and every decent person in America wants to see him behind bars for it.

Al Gore’s Company Now Worth $3 Trillion
Rebound replied to Rebound's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
I think we’re just talking past one another at this point. Obviously, Al Gore is not singularly responsible for the success of Apple, but he has been on the BoD since long before iPod, iPad and iPhone. -
Al Gore’s Company Now Worth $3 Trillion
Rebound replied to Rebound's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
Board Members are responsible for reviewing all of a company’s long term business decisions and strategies, they review and approve all of the financials, and they hire and fire the executives, and set their salaries. Apple’s board members include some of the most accomplished people in the world. Since the Board members are typically compensated only in stock, they are all stockholders. -

As usual, it’s all Whataboutism and deflection. The “personal responsibility” people never want to actually take responsibility for anything. So the answer is NO, doxxing is a horrible thing to do. We live in a democracy. We don’t threaten the lives of people we disagree with, and doxxing is a method of harassing and endangering others. I don’t care who does it, it’s wrong. So let’s examine @reason10’s totally broken logic: His LEADER doxxed someone, triggering a FOLLOWER to attempt a violent attack on someone. So he retorts that a FOLLOWER also doxxed someone. Major leaders have millions of followers. Their actions have consequences. What is the purpose of posting Barack Obama’s home address to millions of agitated followers, except to threaten, harass or annoy him?

No, the UN is not full of excrement. The UN is simply a deliberative body of the leaders of every nation in the world. We get along with some and disagree with others. Without a forum for the nations of the world to work out their disagreements and try to solve problems, how would these disagreements and problems be resolved? Of course it is an imperfect system, because each nation is sovereign, but it is the best solution we have devised for the task. We do not disagree with the scientific findings.

We are already experiencing catastrophes and they will become irreversible without more action. We didn’t have this kind of opposition to banning CFC’s. If we did, we’d all be dead now.
