  1. I was referring to his repeated statements that the housing crisis has nothing to do with immigration or foreign workers. But there's no evidence any countries are going to change their purchases to Canada from somewhere else just because Carney went over for a chat. The last data we have, on the second quarter investments, shows something like $47 billion in investments departing Canada as both foreigners and Canadians choose to invest their money elsewhere. This is not a country to make money in, unless you get appointed as the DEI house leader for a week and a half
  2. Herbie would already have started a topic for it and he and eyeball would be ranting about government corruption.
  3. So what? Venezuela's government is both massively incompetent and massively corrupt, and has beaten, tortured, murdered, and starved its own people for years. Trump can do whatever the hell he wants to them as far as I'm concerned.
  4. I don't know. Why are they limited to 5? I don't DO manual labour! Less pot for veterans! I wonder how many Canadians knew this was even a thing. Gov't to save $4 billion by sending less marijuana money to veterans | National Post
  5. That is the official position of the Canadian government.
  6. What if there's more than five zombies!?
  7. The Left is all about guilt-mongering now. Whatever happens anywhere in the world, somehow, WE are to blame. And then they'll whine about Poilievre being too negative!
  8. And so you have Carney, allegedly an economist, though he doesn't understand the law of supply and demand, going around the country grandly reaching down into the huge pile of backlogged projects that need government approval and granting half a dozen or so his royal favour while talking about how every single one is 'transformational'. When he should be ripping out all the torturously slow regulatory processes Trudeau put in place to block development. Why isn't he doing that? Because he's a Trudeau acolyte and is determined to carry on in his name. He's especially adopted the 'style over substance' government Trudeau pioneered. He'll make these grand announcements every little while or so to convince the low-information voter that he's kick-starting the economy, while actually doing nothing of the sort. Most of the bad ones wouldn't have if Poilivre had been elected.
  9. You and your friend Trudeau.
  10. The government is lying again. Is anyone surprised that a party led by a man who lied during his first press conference as leader would have no problem lying to us on every single subject, from the budget to immigration? But hey, at least he's not negative! He only ever tells us rosy stories! If only they were ever true... It seems the headline number given for immigration was uhm... the polite term is misleader, but let's just say it's a lie. https://archive.is/9eE1u https://archive.is/dexla
  11. So you have two leaders. One say that Canada's economy is in the dumper because of bad government laws and regulations, and that the government is overspending and mispending. Almost all his complaints are about that. Then you have the guy who says Canada is a genocidal non-nation on stolen land that is racist to the core, and every single institution is systemically racist. And you hate the first guy because he's too negative and vote for the second guy. 🙄
  12. And yet he got more votes than the likeable O'Toole.
  13. Mm, yeah, and they will help bring about economic collapse in the West, and shift more manufacturing, wealth and power to the Chinese. What you and the other climate change types simply will not accept is that all this sacrifice and effort will accomplish essentially nothing. You are not going to stop CO2 rising. You are not going to stop global warming. All you're going to do is bankrupt us so that we won't have the ability to deal with the results. They don't want your uranium or your reactors, thanks. They prefer coal. It's cheaper.
  14. So the case is that the accused made an ass of himself and was refused entry to an event by security. Others taunted him for it, and he and his friends got angry, and the two groups met in a parking lot. The accused tried to hit one of the other side with a bottle twice. When that failed, the other party swung his fist back at hi,m and the accused then stabbed him to death, kicked and stomped on him as he lay dying, and then sent a text to his friend bragging about it. And the judge says, "That's okay. No crime here. You're free to go." This is how you get the breakdown of society. This is how you get more and more young men carrying weapons - because they know that other young men are carrying weapons, and now also know that if those other young men use them, they won't be punished. https://www.cp24.com/local/toronto/2025/11/12/teen-found-not-guilty-of-manslaughter-after-fatally-stabbing-18-year-old-in-north-york-parking-lot/
  15. Yeah but what about the drones that blow people up? I guess those are too... militaristic?
  16. Plus, of course, the Mennonites Most cases this year are in regions where local vaccination rates are as low as 30 percent. Those towns are home to a culturally conservative Mennonite group with ties to Mexico that has historically been less likely to accept vaccines. The group primarily speaks Plautdietsch, a Low German dialect spoken almost entirely by Mennonites. In interviews, local Mennonites confirmed that the virus is spreading through their community, but said they were not afraid or rushing to vaccinate their children — despite the well-documented risks of long-term and permanent consequences of measles. “I don’t think the Mennonites are too worried about it,” said Sara Krahn, a Mennonite whose 4-year-old son caught measles in May and recovered at home. She treated him with over-the-counter pain killers, vitamins and skin ointments for his rash. “My mum said we all had them when we were young.” https://removepaywalls.com/4/https://www.nytimes.com/2025/08/07/world/canada/measles-alberta-canada-vaccines.html
  17. Poilevre could comment on the weather and you'd complain about his 'nasty tone'. And by the way, if the country is under siege, do you really want a nice guy addressing that, or a 'nasty' guy?
  18. You're talking about COVID. The problem with diseases like measles, mumps, and rubella is that no one usually talks much about vaccination because it's routinely done in early childhood. In Canada. But not in many of our source countries for immigration and refugees. Nor are they required or advised to get vaccinated when they arrive.
  19. Oh yawn. What Poilievre wanted to do in his election platform was slash the regulatory chains that keep industry from thriving, build pipelines, and do whatever else it took to get the economy moving. That was the bulk of his platform. What's Carney done so far but bring in a massive budget deficit and promise to continue the flow of immigrants and foreign workers to keep house prices high and wages stagnant?
  20. Because we bought hugely expensive American drones instead of the cheapy suicide drones the Russians and Ukrainians are throwing back and forth at each other by the tens of thousands. Maybe we should buy some of those too?
  21. You guys realize that the outbreak started and spread among the Mennonites, right? And then began to hit the general pop out west, mostly through unvaccinated FOREIGNERS. In the rest of the country, it's mostly foreigners. I get how you love to think of this as a hick western conservative issue, but the least vaccinated groups are foreigners. We brought in a million of them last year from countries with very low vaccination rates, and we don't require any of them - immigrants, refugees, foreign workers (or their families), or foreign students(or their families), to get vaccinated. PS. Got my covid shot today.
  22. An unprecedented national crisis, says Carney! We will move with a speed never seen before to make major changes to our economy! Gets elected. Goes on vacation. LOL "Our budget will be a generational transformational!" Brings out Trudeau's intended budget, dusts it off, and adds money for the military. Uh, transformational? "Don't bother me now! I'm off to Europe! And Asia! And South America! And Africa!" All these mouth noises are only going to fool the foolish for so long, you know.
  23. Seems? You mean because of the sudden plethora of stories in the mainstream media by Liberals talking about how much turmoil there allegedly is in the Conservative Party?
  24. The feds don't need to use it when the Liberals are in power since the SC is usually made up of liberals. And Harper was always far too restrained in his actions. He was Mister incrementalism, not wanting to rock the boat too hard. Though if he'd had to deal with the present SC, filled with Trudeau social justice activists, I suspect he'd have given in and used the Notwithstanding clause.
  25. Once it becomes obvious to more of the low-information public that Carney, like Trudeau, is all mouth noises and no action, I suspect that popularity gap will narrow considerably. Don't act like you're a conservative. You're a liberal.
