Not being gun aware is "White Buffalo, will use restricted semi-automatic assault-style rifles to dispatch the deer. And they will be equipped with suppressors, or silencers, using .223-calibre ammunition with extended magazines holding up to 30 rounds, he said." an AR-15? Your BBC link also said "The ban is effective immediately but there will be a two-year amnesty period for law-abiding gun owners to comply. " "Prohibition on assault-style firearms New maximum thresholds for muzzle energy (greater than 10,000 Joules) and bore diameter (20 mm bore or greater) are also in place. Any firearm that exceeds them is now prohibited. A Criminal Code amnesty period is currently in effect to October 30, 2025" https://www.publicsafety.gc.ca/cnt/cntrng-crm/frrms/index-en.aspx I am not a gun owner or gun aficionado but I would think that if a contract was let, it would have to comply with present Canadian Law, as all contracts are obliged to do.

If no one in Canada could fulfill the contract I guess, so they got someone that could. I am pretty sure they did not request what arms to use. Bottom line is that this has been going on for a very long time and parks Canada tried to get locals in indigenous bit they did not do the job so,like everything else, they contract out. Like I said, I have been there. I asked you where you got the AR-15 information. I read the links and did not see it. It is interesting that this has become a story. There is the same issue way up on the Queen Charlotte Islands (oh, sorry Haida Gwaii) for many decades. Anyone can go and hunt up there. There is no bag limit but the deer are still a problem.

Read the links...it explains it there. They even tell you how many have been shot and what they are doing wit the meet. Seems the locals and the indigenous are not shooting enough so, to solve the problem, they have to hire shooters. The locals and indigenous that are complaining are not doing enough so, like always, the government steps in. The Parks department has been working on this since 2018. Read the links and understand the history (which is something you always tell others to do) and you will not be such a drama queen All the answers and reasons are there.

How?? This was and is an ongoing program to cull deer that were damaging the island environment and ecosystem. I have been ion the island and the deer are a huge problem. Read the link and become aware. https://parks.canada.ca/agence-agency/bib-lib/rapports-reports/~/link.aspx?_id=B84E6A3DAAEB4A90B765F4388D7B1C4A&_z=z https://coastalconservation.ca/projects/sidney-island-ecosystem-restoration-project/ https://www.timescolonist.com/local-news/parks-canada-defends-12m-sidney-island-deer-kill-ecological-restoration-8808318

Did you read the link? It is a cull to prevent the further environmental problems caused by the deer. Where did you get the use of the AR-15 Sydney Island is 8.5 sq kms. The indigenous were given rights but for some reason or other, they were not able to accomplish the task themselves. "Since 2018, Parks Canada has been working with partners—including the W̱SÁNEĆ Leadership Council (representing Tsartlip (tsart-lip) First Nation and Tseycum (say-come) First Nation ), Tsawout (tsay-out) First Nation, Pauquachin (paw-kwuh-chin) First Nation , Sidney Island residents, Islands Trust Conservancy , and the Province of British Columbia—to plan and implement a forest restoration strategy on SḰŦÁMEN (Sidney Island). This initiative is known as the Sidney Island Ecological Restoration Project, or SḰŦÁMEN QENÁȽ,ENEȻ SĆȺ. Together, project partners identified three key objectives: Restoring native vegetation and removing invasive plant species. Eliminating the invasive European fallow deer population. Sustainably managing native black-tailed deer."

There are no winners. Look what has been going on in the past 75 years.

You're right, the AI was responding to you! Thanks for pointing that out, and I'm glad you enjoyed the exchange. I'll have to keep a closer eye on my conversations to make sure I'm not getting you too defensive. LOL How arrogant are you to think you deserve to go through life with no one ever saying anything that you don’t agree with or like....oh wait, rhetorical question, we all know LOL

I stand by my comment. It had nothing and now it has Israel. By decree. "On May 14, 1948, David Ben-Gurion, the head of the Jewish Agency, proclaimed the establishment of the State of Israel. U.S. President Harry S. Truman recognized the new nation on the same day...... Throughout 1947, the United Nations Special Commission on Palestine examined the Palestinian question and recommended the partition of Palestine into a Jewish and an Arab state. On November 29, 1947 the United Nations adopted Resolution 181 (also known as the Partition Resolution) that would divide Great Britain’s former Palestinian mandate into Jewish and Arab states in May 1948 when the British mandate was scheduled to end. Under the resolution, the area of religious significance surrounding Jerusalem would remain a corpus separatum under international control administered by the United Nations." https://history.state.gov/milestones/1945-1952/creation-israel

Yeah and....the jewish state was given and began Not dumb, it was given the land....no matter how you try and play it.
-
Nope, AI is fully aware of what a flake you are. LOL

Again, I agree. The ones doing the shooting should be facing extremely serious repercussions. While I said vandalism, there are certainly degrees of it but all in all, damage to property is just not a priority for police. There is no revenue generated finding those criminals. It is easier and financially more lucrative to nail speeding 10 over the limit AI says "I can't respond to a message that contains a threat to harm someone. Can AI help you with something else?"
-
I agree, vandalizing schools, churches, synagogues, mosques and any building is a crime and you are right, we do nothing so it gets worse. I "slough" nothing off. I never said it wasn't news. When asked, I did say other schools have been shot at, like the catholic one in Ottawa, 5 shots.

Have no clue what you are babbling about.... as usual. Cutting a portion of a paragraph to try and make bizarre points is a specialty of yours LOL You can never "prove " anything
-
You can say that about anything and have nothing to back it up. I suspect the people in Israel protesting Netenyahoo are not students and not lunatics?
-
A pair?... I said that and let the masses panic...and they did LOL

Why so many MPs based on our population?
ExFlyer replied to exPS's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
What are you on (or off) about??? If you are attempting to discredit and shit on the Canadian military, you are just an A hole. The men and women in the military do as they are asked for Canada, which is you. Besides pure military tasks, the fight your fires, they bag sand during flooding, the search for lost Canadians on land and at sea, they fly injured or sick Canadians to hospitals, they even shovel your sidewalks when called upon. Not sure what your point is about a degreed graduate and flying. I know and have flown with many military pilots that did not have a degree. I also know many engineers and others that did not go to RMC. As a matter of fact, most officers with a degree did not go to RMC. As for procurement of military equipment, it is very often politics that get in the way of what the military wants or needs. Politicians tell what to buy to help their constituents with jobs in their riding, even if the equipment is not what they really want. When Ms Jones, MP from backwoods Canada gets on a committee , she has the power to change or halt military procurement. that is why it is talking 25 years to get ships or tanks or vehicles and even guns. If it was pure Military buying what they need, they would buy off the shelf and quick delivery. You are just a bitter ex PS that could not climb the corporate ladder so you quit. -
It is not me that uses Twitter or social media.. it is Blackbird and others. I have never used Twitter or social media as a link or cite. The protests and support right now seem to be with Palestinians (not hamas)
-
Never said that....just another imaginary comment form you. LOL Responding that other schools have been shot at too. Don't like it so .....deflect away LOL
-
Just sayin they are the common denominator. They were given a country, not earned or bargained or bought.
-
1500+ years of discrimination/anti semitism/ dislike etc etc. The jews left/escaped/got kicked out of Egypt (depending who you are listening to). Arabs and jews come from the same loin. Thing is, the one and only common denominator, world wide, is the jews.
