  1. Oh. It's the comparison again. Israel was born out of the United Nations. Israel is also signatory to the laws of United Nations. Israel will have to follow the rules and laws of the United Nations. Not by circumstances of colonialism and savagery from more than 3 centuries ago that you advocate. That's right. Israel was finally pushed to agree to a truce with Hamas: Ceasefire deal Israel to end all hostilities on Gaza Strip by sea, land and air, including incursions and the targeting of individuals All Palestinian factions in Gaza to stop all hostilities against Israel, including rocket and border attacks Within 24 hours of ceasefire, Gaza Strip crossings to be opened allowing free movement of people and goods As will the Israelis.
  2. Only because Israel has done everything in its power to not allow it to be a nation. The Palestinians were living in that land before the European Jews arrived there and forced the locals to carve out a large piece of their land so the Jews could have a nation. Two former Israeli prime ministers were former leaders of Jewish terrorist groups, Irgun and Lehi. Hamas was elected by the Palestinians, so they should be dealt with. There is nothing you can do about it. That's code word for "damage to blood thirsty Zionist interests is catastrophic". You will have to deal with Palestinians and their rights whether you accept it or not.
  3. Nice find. Bibi:...The Arabs are currently focusing on a war of terror and they think it will break us. The main thing, first of all, is to hit them. Not just one blow, but blows that are so painful that the price will be too heavy to be borne. The price is not too heavy to be borne, now. A broad attack on the Palestinian Authority. To bring them to the point of being afraid that everything is collapsing... Woman: Wait a moment, but then the world will say "how come you're conquering again?" Netanyahu: the world won't say a thing. The world will say we're defending. Woman: Aren't you afraid of the world, Bibi? Netanyahu: Especially today, with America. I know what America is. America is something that can easily be moved. Moved to the right direction. Child: They say they're for us, but, it's like... Netanyahu: They won't get in our way. They won't get in our way. Child: On the other hand, if we do some something, then they... Netanyahu: So let's say they say something. So they said it! They said it! 80% of the Americans support us. It's absurd. We have that kind of support and we say "what will we do with the..." Look. That administration [Clinton] was extremely pro-Palestinian. I wasn't afraid to maneuver there. I was not afraid to clash with Clinton. I was not afraid to clash with the United Nations. I was paying the price anyway, I preferred to receive the value. Value for the price. In the following segment, Bibi boasts about how he emptied the Oslo Accords of meaning by an interpretation that made a mockery of them: Woman: The Oslo Accords are a disaster. Netanyahu: Yes. You know that and I knew that...The people [nation] has to know... What were the Oslo Accords? The Oslo Accords, which the Knesset signed, I was asked, before the elections: "Will you act according to them?" and I answered: "yes, subject to mutuality and limiting the retreats." "But how do you intend to limit the retreats?" "I'll give such interpretation to the Accords that will make it possible for me to stop this galloping to the '67 [armistice] lines. How did we do it? Narrator: The Oslo Accords stated at the time that Israel would gradually hand over territories to the Palestinians in three different pulses, unless the territories in question had settlements or military sites. This is where Netanyahu found a loophole. Netanyahu: No one said what defined military sites. Defined military sites, I said, were security zones. As far as I'm concerned, the Jordan Valley is a defined military site. Woman: Right [laughs]...The Beit She'an Valley.

  5. ? How can I turn you off? You're like an annoying infomercial that never ends.
  6. I don't know enough about the politics and I still have more to learn, but from a discussion I heard at Council of Foreign Relations, someone made a comment about how there are people from the Mubarak regime who still have quite a bit of power in the military and in the judiciary. Morsi's move prevents them from getting in the way of the transition and a constitution from being drafted. The Muslim Brotherhood is actually not known as a hardline religious group. Many of the members are pro-democracy. While drafting the constitution, Morsi was also able to compromise with the elected religious members. Originally, they wanted the principles of Islamic Law to be the main source of Egyptian legislation, however, the compromise was to leave the final authority to apply those principles with the elected Parliament and civil courts. The Salafists, the ultraconservatives religious group hold 1/4 of the seats and they are the main group who have been pushing for the adoption of Islamic Law. Morsi has tried resisting their push. As mentioned in the article: Morsy also ordered retrials and reinvestigations in the deaths of protesters during last year's uprising against strongman Hosni Mubarak. That could lead to the reprosecution of Mubarak, currently serving a life prison term, and several acquitted officials who served under him. Those who were acquitted, were acquitted because the judiciary is still tainted with the old regime. This is something that Morsi has been working to fix. Morsi has made some significant moves in order to remove powerful military generals who ran Mubarak's dictatorship. So far, I see Morsi doing a good balancing job considering that he has to deal with the still powerful members of the old regime, the hardline Muslim members, the Palestinian/Israeli issue and keeping the Americans happy, so that the aid money continues to be delivered to his country.
  7. The jury is still out on Bibi. He got the Israeli public riled up and now, people with thirst and hunger for blood and destruction are wondering why Bibi didn't take it further. ‘Bibi loser’ protest by IDF soldiers, now making its rounds through Israeli social media networks
  8. It took some time to realize that Apartheid South African government could not be negotiated with. It's the same thing with Israel and those who are driving its policies. The international community will have to continue to put pressure on our governments to do the right thing. The boycott movement continues to get stronger and the Jews living in the West are having a hard time relating to Israel's actions. Majority are liberal and care about human rights. It should also be mentioned that some of the leading activists against Israel's oppression of Palestinians are Jewish.
  9. #1 - There are thousands of other photos showing children either killed or injured and I'm certain that at least 90% are genuine. #2 - Someone finding out that the photo posted on the internet was from another war, doesn't change the carnage which killed over 40 Palestinian children, injured over 500 of them and killed many of their family members #3 - Based on the above, my presentation in the original post is still valid. You have not posted evidence that would refute that mindset. You posted a few examples of how photos were faked, then DogOnPorch tried to tell us that the Gaza beach shelling was staged. He got as passionate about his conspiracy theory as the lizard people theorists. So go ahead and challenge all the reports. Are you going to challenge the 40+ dead babies? Because simply denying these reports exist does not make them go away. Yes. Finding a couple of photos and a few stories vs an overwhelming amount of information that say otherwise. You shape your views of the event based on the narrative you're trying to sell to the public. You have already demonstrated that you're not interested in facts considering that you're unwilling to admit to the simple fact that Israel assassinated a man that was set to start a ceasefire. Who is "they"? You think it was some Gaza PR that released that photo? It couldn't be some person on the internet doing a google image search and then posting it on facebook and claiming that it was from Gaza? The BIG conspiracy! One photo is fake and all of a sudden we should question the thousands of photos, videos and accounts that are coming from Gaza! You're like a birther conspiracy theorist who will battle rational and logic because reality just doesn't suit the narrative. You should start educating yourself by looking at international laws, including the targeting of civilians. It's important that you know the basics when trying to debate these issues. Let me help you to get started: International Humanitarian Law - Treaties & Documents Convention (IV) relative to the Protection of Civilian Persons in Time of War. Protocol Additional to the Geneva Conventions of 12 August 1949, and relating to the Protection of Victims of International Armed Conflicts (Protocol I)
  10. Also it was the same people who went into it.
  11. Ooh. Suddenly we care about "internationally recognized". The settlements are internationally recognized to be illegal. The annexation of East Jerusalem is internationally recognized to be a violation of international law. By the way, Hamas is not recognized as a terrorist organization internationally. Learn all about it. Before we see some foaming at the mouth, I do not agree with any action by Hamas that violates international law, including shooting rockets towards civilians.
  12. I am glad that you also consider American Woman a terrorist apologist.
  13. ter·ror·ism/ˈterəˌrizəm/ Noun: The use of violence and intimidation in the pursuit of political aims
  14. I have John Lennon's words vs DickCheney's words. John Lennon = peace activist DickCheney = pro-war activist
  15. So you agree with following international law and will condemn those who will not?
  16. It's not like we're basing our judgement of the situation on one or two photos. We're basing it on local and international reporters. Reports and analysis from human rights organizations. Those, plus photos, videos, personal accounts and other sources all help us shape our views of the event. I am wondering how someone posting a fake photo changes what the Gazans experienced. You should be demonized for wanting to justify the killing of Palestinians by trying to lay the blame on someone other than those who pull the triggers.
  17. Only at an IDF kangaroo court.
  18. John Lennon squirms in his grave whenever you mention his name.
  19. You have quite the imagination. Someone posts a photo from Syria and claims it's from Gaza and all the other photos are discredited. All the other deaths are discredited. We should not support the victims because of this. I've managed to go outside for some fresh air today. When is the last time you stepped out?
  20. The BBC reporter faked the death of his child? Allowed the child to die so that he could stage sympathy for Gaza and Hamas? By the way, he was already living in Gaza.
  21. Here are more photos: http://972mag.com/photos-deadliest-day-yet-in-gaza/60288/ These faked and staged? American Woman and DogOnPorch are onto something. This whole Gaza thing is all staged and fake.
