  1. After years of protecting child predators, Darth Sidious decides to hang up his hat. We'll see who will replace him to lead the ugly and corrupt organization.
  2. I'm happy that you have finally stopped using the comparison of Ethiopians living in Ethiopia and Ethiopians living in Israel. They had to do that. These were Jews and if they didn't make a move, the whole premise of law of return and why Israel was created would not make sense. Israel gives big incentives to many Jews around the world to move to Israel. It's a system and obligation to bring all Jews to Israel. Except that there is a problem; Some Israelis don't really see the Ethiopian Jews as real Jews and they see them as a lower race. They prefer that they do not increase in population. Israeli racism is not just towards the Arabs. So how does Israel respond to the fear of the population increase of the undesirables? They create a program where women are forced and coerced into taking an injection to reduce the Ethiopian community's birth rate. They succeeded in reducing the birthrate by 50% in only 10 years. But then Israel was caught red-handed doing an action so incredibly wrong, that the government of Israel acknowledges that it happens and orders it to stop. Israel did turn around and it reduced the Ethiopian Israeli birthrate by 50% in only 10 years. As the evidence shows, there was a systematic plan to force and coerce Ethiopian women to receive birth control injections.
  3. The sheer arrogance and pettiness to call someone a bigot after trying to explain away and justify forcing birth control on a group of people. After displaying such contempt for Palestinians and again, excusing and justifying Israel's behaviour, you dare to call anyone a bigot?
  4. Ethiopians have migrated to Israel in 5 waves since the 1930's. This 50% sudden drop in birthrate, within a decade is shockingly huge and does not follow any pattern of natural cultural change. There is evidence that Israel misled and coerced Ethiopian women into being injected with Depo Provera. From when they left Ethiopia, during their stays in the interim camps and continued through their migration into Israel. To add to the severity of the situation, the Israeli government admitted to such a practice and gave a formal order to stop the treatment. Considering this information, you are still trying to say that this "may" be due to natural cultural adaptation and change. These are Ethiopian Jews, who, supposedly, have a right just like any Jew to live in Israel. So Israel is obligated by its own law to take them in. It has been anything but a welcoming process. There is a very large portion of Israelis who do hate blacks. The many delays in allowing the Jewish Ethiopians to enter Israel, when it takes a fraction of that time to allow a Jew from the West to enter Israel. Then of course, there is the latest disgusting behaviour of a portion of Israelis, which included Knesset members, towards the immigrants and refugees from Africa was a perfect example of Israel's racist behaviour. This point is moot because we are not comparing the birthrate of Ethiopians in Ethiopia from 10 years ago. We are comparing the birthrate of Ethiopian Israelis now to Ethiopian Israelis from 10 years ago. You need to comprehend this point, so you would stop repeating the same meaningless argument you are trying make. Again, see the point above. We have always been comparing Ethiopians in Israel. They have always had the same choices. Even prior to 10 years ago. It has been done. From the numerous people who have confirmed this practice, it's obvious that it had/has been systematic practice. The government's order to stop is admitting to the practice. The fact that 50% of the birthrate dropped during when the Israeli birth control practice started and when the Western world cultural factor has always been there in the Israeli Ethiopian community, well before 10 years ago, to me, and any person who won't deny reality, would be enough to accept that they major factor for this dramatic drop in birthrate is due to Israel's ugly practice of forced and coerced birth control. Before you try to deal and lobby assumptions, why not deal and accept the information we have from this situation: - Over 30 women have given their account of a systematic plan to control the birth rate of Ethiopians - The government of Israel has admitted to this practice by ordering the practice to stop - A 50% birthrate drop in only 10 years is a shockingly dramatic drop in birthrate - This sharp drop-off coincides with the arrival of the last wave of immigration of Ethiopian Jews and the start of the depro-vera practice. The only reason they have finally arrived in Israel is because they are Jewish. Many in Israel have fought hard to keep them out. This explains the reason why it takes Jewish Ethiopians so much longer to migrate to Israel than other Jews. 50% drop in 10 years. Your assumption doesn't make sense and doesn't respond to the huge sudden drop. It is sudden and a BIG drop. Despite having started immigration to Israel from the 1930's and have always been exposed to the Israeli culture, you want people to believe that everyone all of a sudden decided to have less children, while trying to minimize the real reason, which is the admitted birth control practice by Israel. Israel did not go out of its way to bring them in. As mentioned before, these are Jews and any Jew has the right to go to Israel. If anything, Israel has made it extremely difficult for Ethiopian Jews to immigrate to Israel. This is a 'mistake' that an enlightened, democratic nation does not make. Not in this day and age. Imagine if we heard this news happening in U.S. or Canada or another Western country. It would be such a shock and unacceptable. Imagine hearing that 30 Mexican women, who were trying to migrate into the U.S. were coerced and forced into getting injected so that they wouldn't have children. Sadly, as terrible and disgusting this practice has been, it's somehow not shocking for Israel to commit it.
  5. These natural changes in cultural practices happen naturally. They don't suddenly change and have a dramatic drop which coincide with a birth control practice that we already know has happened to a number of Ethiopian women. You're basing your comment on hot air and useless assumptions. There is no evidence that Ethiopian women are acting on their own choice. However, there is evidence that a large percentage of them who have been interviewed have said they were forced or coerced into taking birth control. Who cares? We are talking about the sudden change in birthrate in Israel. Immigration of Ethiopian women have been happening for many decades. This sudden birth rate drop coincides with an admitted government program which the government has said should stop. So you are now desperately trying to equate the difference in birthrate of Canadians in 24 years, which went from 27 to 15 per 1000. A difference of 45% in the span of 24 years. Whereas in Israel, the population of Israeli Ethiopians went down 50% in the span of 10 years. This sudden decrease can be contributed to something the Israeli government has admitted to doing and has stopped doing after pressure from several human rights organizations. Your argument is that this sudden drop in birthrate may be due to Israeli Ethiopian women's sudden change in cultural practices. I don't think anyone here, besides others like you, who will go to any length to justify Israeli actions, will see any logic and rational behind your explanation. In this day and age, no western country would commit such an act. Certainly not an enlightened democratic country.
  6. Just like Bonam, you are sharing misinformation. The 50% decline in Ethiopian birthrate in the past 10 years is inside Israel. This decline has happened to the birthrate of Israeli Ethiopians and not Ethiopians in Ethiopia. Which means that there was a systematic effort to control the birthrate of Ethiopians by the Israeli government in the past 10 years. The Israeli Ethiopians' birthrate over 10 years ago was double what it is today, which has to do with the Israeli government's policy.
  7. If you read the articles that have been posted here you would realize that it's not "Hudson's claim of a 50% birthrate drop", but it's the statistic from the Israeli government. Why the need to try to put into question the 50% drop in birthrate? Furthermore, the birthrate drop of 50% is in the Israeli Ethiopian community. it's not a comparison to a third world country. That's another piece of misinformation on your part. The 50% drop in brithrate is in the Israeli Ethiopian community in the past 10 years. meaning that in the past 10 years, there has been a systematic push to reduce the birthrate for Ethiopian women in Israel. This was achieved by forcing them and injecting them with depo-provera. Complaints and reports were first filed over 5 years ago, and now, finally, after this documentary and push from human rights organization, the Israeli government has ordered it to stop.
  8. What does the 50% decline in birthrate of Ethiopians in Israel reveal to you about the above article which tries to suggest that this is blown out of proportion. What does it reveal about the Israeli government who had previous knowledge of this (but of course denied it)? The ministry and other state agencies had previously denied knowledge or responsibility for the practice, which was first reported five years ago. link
  9. No authority to what? This is only a report. The authority is with the International Criminal Court.
  10. Switzerland is an interesting country with an interesting system: Gun politics in Switzerland are unique in Europe. Switzerland does not have a standing army, instead opting for a people's militia for its national defense. The vast majority of men between the ages of 20 and 30 are conscripted into the militia and undergo military training, including weapons training. The personal weapons of the militia are kept at home as part of the military obligations; Switzerland thus has one of the highest militia gun ownership rates in the world.
  11. This is very true. It's ironic to see some of the human rights abuses and degrading actions being repeated by Israel that was born after its people experienced them. What does it mean when people say: "Never forget" ?
  12. Just so we are clear on the definition of genocide: The crime of genocide is defined in international law in the Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of Genocide. "Article II: In the present Convention, genocide means any of the following acts committed with intent to destroy, in whole or in part, a national, ethnical, racial or religious group, as such: (a) Killing members of the group; ( Causing serious bodily or mental harm to members of the group; © Deliberately inflicting on the group conditions of life calculated to bring about its physical destruction in whole or in part; (d) Imposing measures intended to prevent births within the group; (e) Forcibly transferring children of the group to another group. http://www.genocidewatch.org/genocide/whatisit.html
  13. Love the "enlightened" comments by American Woman who tries her best to try to make Israel look good by trying to spin their character into being enlightened, because they 'stopped' it. Like somehow, a western country in the 21st century can be called enlightened after being caught forcing the undesirables to take birth control. Oh yes, they stopped doing it after being caught. That's why they're enlightened. Iran could use propagandists like that. Maybe they can somehow spin the recent stopping of stoning people into an act of an enlightened country.
  14. The issue here is that only 2 members of Likud have 'verbally' accepted some form of a Palestinian state. One of those is Bibi. Even his vision of a Palestinian state would be difficult to accept as it being an actual Palestinian state. He wants a 'de-militarilized' state, with no control over air, the borders, living in cantons. Many Likud members were elected based on an extreme stance on the Palestinian state issue. This would be like expecting the Republican members to sign on and accept gay marriage. So we will see how much the other parties can compromise their platform in order to partner up with Likud to create this so-called moderate coalition.
  15. The practice of apartheid is undemocratic. So I feel the information is about the topic. Whether it's being done inside the undefined (according to Israel) Israeli border, or in the occupied territories, it is undemocratic. A democratic state would not practice what Israel is practicing.
  16. A visual which shows how Palestinians in the occupied territories live in cantons, surrounded and separated by Israel controlled roads. This image is quite telling and explains why Israel is considered an apartheid state:
  17. And as someone eloquently put it: Rapists rape people. This does not mean it's okay and we should not talk about it. CIA drones have already killed at least 40 since the start of the year Link Apparently, 1 out of 4 of them were civilians. Maybe the 25% ratio is not high enough for you, Bush_Cheney?
  18. You have a dog in the fight? Why are you trying to question his credibility because he is not "at one" with the Israeli government? To me, this type of debate is flawed.
  19. I don't think this news would reach the mainstream media even if a Republican was the president. They're both war parties and the mainstream media has failed to do real, in-depth reporting of the wars no matter which party president was in power.
  20. Watching the mainstream media, I do wonder how many Americans actually know about what happens. I also wonder what they would think if they knew the effects. Here is a sobering reminder of some of the effects of drone attacks.: Link
  21. Not really. You got it wrong. According to Goldberg (and Peter Beinert), Obama has been showing dislike for Netanyahu. As mentioned before, Obama has shown his displeasure for Netanyahu before. "I can't stand him. He's a liar," Sarkozy said of Netanyahu, according to the website. Obama replied, "You're tired of him; what about me? I have to deal with him every day," CNN
  22. We will never know for sure, but it's more than likely that Obama is using Goldberg to relay his message of disapproval. This wouldn't be the first time that Obama has shown his dislike for Netanyahu. He was also heard (in a recording) speaking negatively about him to Sarkozy. Goldberg is considered to be close to the Obama administration and on several occasions during the past four years the White House has channeled public messages through him to Israel and the prime minister – regarding both the Palestinian and Iranian issues. The messages in Goldberg’s column, which apparently came from a briefing by top officials at the White House, are very similar to those that appeared in a column by political pundit Peter Beinert a few weeks ago, in which he described the White House’s lack of trust in and frustration with Netanyahu.
  23. Most Jews migrated by choice to Palestine. They were encouraged and given incentives to move to Palestine. There was hardly any problems with the Jews in the Arab world until around the 30's when Zionist migration accelerated and word got around that the Jews were confiscating Arab land in Palestine. It was due to the Zionist colonization of Palestine that things went sour between the Arabs and the Jews. You also realize that before 1948, there were close to 1,000,000 Arabs in what is now known as Israel and around 700,000 of them became refugees after fleeing the war and ultimately, being expelled by the Jews. As bud has pointed out, over 500 Palestinian villages were destroyed by Jewish militias and terrorist groups in what is now known as Israel and the 700,000 Palestinians were never allowed to go back to their homes, creating world's biggest refugee group.
  24. If the government wanted to attack its own citizens, guns are not going to stop them. How will having firearms protect the civilians from drone attacks? Just ask the thousands of innocent civilians killed in other countries by U.S. drones.
  25. The crocodile cries of "driving Jews into the sea" and "the extermination of Jews" are once again being used to derail any kind of rational talk about the fact that Palestinians also deserve their own state and self-determination. The land that Israel wants to annex does not belong to Israel. The Palestinians have every right to settle in their own land. It doesn't matter if Israel was able to beat someone in a war. The reason it doesn't matter is because international law has already determined what Israel's border is. This is why the Jewish settlements beyond the 1967 border are considered to be illegal by the international community. This includes Israel's closest allies; the United States and Canada.
