  1. You expect 1.5 million to go stand in the middle of a square mile. An amazing planner you are. If only the people of Gaza had you to direct them to safety and freedom.
  2. WATCH: Israeli analyst and Arab MK clash over Gaza assault http://972mag.com/watch-israeli-analyst-and-arab-mk-clash-over-gaza-assault/60327/ It's strange that some of the once persecuted people who went through the holocaust are now so callous and carry such black hearts. How did you people become so ugly and vile considering the past that you have? Never forget? Really? Disgusting.
  3. You need to realize that there is more than just military strikes as options. Both sides, especially Israel, need to swallow their fragile egos and put aside their arrogance and come to a ceasefire. It's fair for Hamas to request a ceasefire as long Israel doesn't carry out assassinations. Kind of like what they have done in the latest escalation, where they agreed to a ceasefire they made the deal with and then assassinated the person.
  4. Have you guys ever looked at the map of Gaza and any clue what the population density is? Because if you had a clue, you wouldn't be making these preposterous comments. There are 1.5 million people cramped into 150 sq miles. Some of that land is called a buffered zone which is along the Israeli border. That is where Israel, without warning, shoots anyone who walks into it, just like they did when mentally handicapped person got shot by another heroic Israeli soldier.
  5. Where are the Gazans going to go to? Do they know where Israel is going to hit next? You think the family that got bombed knew that Israel was going to bomb them and instead they elected to stay in the house? It's not easy remaining civil with someone who has such unreasonable and illogical expectations.

  7. More civilians killed by Israel. A Palestinian man kisses the hand of a dead relative in the Shifa hospital morgue in Gaza City. Photograph: Bernat Armangue/AP At least 11 members of one family, including five women and four children, were killed when Israel bombed a house in Gaza City on Sunday as the five-day-old war claimed more civilian lives with no sign of a let-up in the intense bombardment. The air strike flattened the home of the Dalou family in the Sheikh Radwan district of Gaza City, causing the biggest death toll in a single incident since the offensive began last Wednesday. On Monday morning the Israeli defence force appeared to admit the family had been killed by mistake. The Haaretz website quoted the army as saying their house was either incorrectly pinpointed or a missile malfunctioned. Elsewhere in the city early Monday an air strike levelled two houses belonging to a single family, killing two children and two adults and injuring 42 people, including children, said Gaza heath official Ashraf al-Kidra. Rescue workers were frantically searching for 12 to 15 members of the Azzam family under the rubble. Shortly afterwards, Israeli aircraft bombarded the remains of the former national security compound in Gaza City. Al-Kidra said flying shrapnel killed one child and wounded others living nearby. After the Dalou family home was destroyed, the bodies of the children were pulled from the rubble and taken to the morgue at Shifa hospital. The dead also included an 80-year-old woman. Link
  8. The rage and divide in the middle east creates a disgusting hypocrisy that I cannot comprehend. Israeli minister vows Palestinian 'holocaust' A senior Israeli politician provoked controversy today when he warned that Palestinians firing rockets from Gaza would be punished with a "bigger holocaust" from Israeli armed forces. The use of the Hebrew word for holocaust, "shoah", tends to be used exclusively in Israel to describe the Nazi persecution of Jews. ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||| Antisemitic Banner Raised at Egyptian Soccer Game: "One Nation for New Holocaust" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JkNZjDM_FQI
  9. If you care about 700 people killed since 1968, then you are probably up in arms about 1000 Palestinian civilians killed in 3 weeks during Israel's last blitz into Gaza.
  10. How well did that work out the first time? Hamas will remain, and they will re-stock and if the opportunity rises, we will see this again. An Israeli history teacher from Southern Israel, on the border with Gaza, wrote a few days ago: Does defending the well being of citizens mean a war of armageddon every few years? Hasn’t any politician ever heard of the expression ‘long-term planning?’ If you want to defend me – then please: Don’t send the Israel Defense Forces for us in order to “win.” Start thinking about the long term and not just about the next election.
  11. Why not show good faith by responding positively to the West Bank, which is isolated from Gaza, instead of continuing the status quo; Theft of land, resources, control of borders, trade, tax collection, checkpoints, etc. Why are you afraid to accept that Israel's treatment of Palestinians is wrong?
  12. In some ways, Syria's Assad is a steroid version of Israel's Bibi. The similarities are that he is using his big weapons to continue his control and silence the people who want freedom and justice. The differences are that Assad is doing this to its own people, while Bibi is doing it to those he is occupying. The other difference is that we don't support Assad's actions, but we support Bibi's actions.
  13. My intention was not to give them a negative connotation. People are animals and have natural needs. In response to a reasonable question, you have elected to give an unreasonable response. Why are you afraid to accept that Israel's treatment of Palestinians is wrong? Spoken like a true supporter of colonialism and an obstacle to peace and justice. I suppose we are done discussing the situation.
  14. Of course I criticize cutting off flow of fuel supplies and medical supplies. They're not coming from Israel. They're coming from other parts of the world. I criticize Israel for getting in the way and damaging and punishing the Palestinians even more.
  15. Tell me how people in the West Bank are "raging mindlessly like animals". Where are the rocket attacks from West Bank? Where are the suicide bombers? The Palestinian authority has formally accepted the State of Israel and has even accepted to do land swaps. So tell me, why is Israel still controlling the West Bank's borders, trading, taxes, resources and why are they continuing to increase the settlements on Palestinian land? Why has the Likud party vowed to never allow a Palestinian State? Have you ever tried to challenge the narrative that is repeated to you and wonder why the status quo just doesn't make sense anymore?
  16. The people of West Bank may support defending themselves against an occupying force, but they don't really support Hamas. The people of West Bank or Gaza are not looking for help from Israel. They want Israel to leave them alone by leaving their land, stop annexing more of their land and allowing them to take over their own functions, like any person who wants freedom. They want to be controlling their own resources, trading with other countries and allowing a system to evolve organically.
  17. It's like trying to compare animals in two different habitats. One is is a large habitat with freedom of movement while the other is a tiny, closed off zoo where everything is controlled by the outside force. Where the animals have no sense of freedom and they're abused and punished for not accepting the unnatural conditions they have been forced to live in.
  18. Why are the people of West Bank starving to death (they're not really) and are having sub par healthcare?
  19. Sure. Of course those count. Anyone ever deny those events and people? Another problem when discussing the issue, misinformation and problems with facts aside, is people who try to hammer on events and issues from the past that happened on one side, without being able to discuss other events and issues that happened on the other side(s), This end up creating a different image of the situation. For the sake of not writing novels and getting into another cycle of history lessons and perspectives, I'm more than happy to discuss the issues surrounding the present events which do not start with "Hamas is shooting rockets into Israel".
  20. I am fully interested in discussing the realities of the situation. The reality is that the discussion should not start with "Hamas is sending rockets into Israel,,", because the picture is much bigger than that.
  21. True. Israel does it with jets, tanks, helicopters and war ships, while Palestinians do it with rockets.
  22. Arrogance, bigotry and naivety in 50 words or less. And... GO! Agreed.
  23. Even though they're not causing any casualties or destruction, sending rockets at Tel Aviv has burst the bubble. People in Tel Aviv, comprised of middle to higher middle class Israelis can no longer stay numb to the realities of the continuous war system which the Israeli government has put into place in order to stay in power. They can no longer pretend and distance themselves with what people in southern Israel go through and even worse, what the Gazans go through. Amir Oren from Haaretz: The significance of rockets fired on Tel Aviv and Jerusalem should not be underestimated. Since 1948, no Arab country, except Iraq in 1991, has managed or dared to do what Hamas and the Palestinian Islamic Jihad have done. Other than the Jordanian Long Tom shell fired at Masaryk Square in Tel Aviv in the Six-Day War, and despite the city’s vulnerability to air and artillery attacks, Tel Aviv, symbol of the Jewish state, has remained untouched. For the first time, the people feel helpless and vulnerable. There is nothing they can do but to run and hide when the sirens go off. There is a sense of what it means to lose control and lose freedom. It's become a huge inconvenience. Despite the government's request to continue with the routine, it's not possible. Here is a glimpse of what it's like: It's nothing like what the people in the bottom of the food chain go through, like in the Southern Israeli towns and cities or remotely close to what the Gazans experience, but the sounds of the sirens followed by big booms are, I'm sure, scary and awful. Maybe they will look at the situation a little differently now and as a teacher from Southern Israel said, they may start to feel the same: Does defending the well being of citizens mean a war of armageddon every few years? Hasn’t any politician ever heard of the expression ‘long-term planning?’ If you want to defend me – then please: Don’t send the Israel Defense Forces for us in order to “win.” Start thinking about the long term and not just about the next election.
  24. How did the activist against Apartheid South Africa support the blacks? The same thing will happen in this situation, except that it will take a little longer. First the people of the world will turn against the oppressor (Apartheid South Africa / Israel), then the people of the world will push their governments to turn against the oppressor. Step 1 is pretty much complete. Step 2 will happen in time. With the way information travels through the internet, the useless mainstream media will be pushed aside and with the way young Jews outside of Israel are more and more rejecting blind support for Israel, the inevitable will occur. The lobbying will only slow down the process to the inevitable.
  25. Here is a good article on the odd action by Israel to kill someone who has done nothing but to assist Israel. Israel killed its subcontractor in Gaza The political outcome of the operation will become clear on January 22, but the strategic ramifications are more complex: Israel will have to find a new subcontractor to replace Ahmed Jabari as its border guard in the south. Ahmed Jabari was a subcontractor, in charge of maintaining Israel's security in Gaza. This title will no doubt sound absurd to anyone who in the past several hours has heard Jabari described as "an arch-terrorist," "the terror chief of staff" or "our Bin Laden." Link
