  1. Ground troops ready to go in?
  2. Okay, so I think you are finally agreeing that Israel receives $3 billion a year in welfare cheques from the U.S. because it cannot pay for it. Does Canada give money to Israel? What about Israel? When is the last time Israel gave money to its allies? Does U.S. give money to Canada? The reasons U.S. has been giving money to the countries around Israel is because they want them to follow the status quo in regards to Israel's occupation of Palestinians. If Israel could afford doing this itself, they would do it, but they prefer handouts from the U.S. I sometimes wonder how many U.S. people actually know about these handouts which only benefit Israel, while their social programs are being cut and their debt continues to climb.
  3. We finally came to a conclusion on a topic! We agree that Hamas was democratically elected.
  4. Of course some American companies will make money from the $3 billion a year welfare cheques U.S. gives to Israel. But the question is, how do they convince the U.S. government to do this? It's simple: AIPAC, the United States' most powerful pro-Israel political group, does not make campaign contributions. But pro-Israel entities spent $3,235,486 on lobbying for pro- in 2008, and AIPAC accounted for nearly $2.5 million of that amount. More money was contributed from pro-Israel groups to federal campaigns in the 2008 election cycle than in any year prior. The total amount of campaign contributions nearly doubled between the 2004 to 2006 election cycles – reaching almost $11 million. In 2006, Israel entered into a conflict with Lebanon, for which the United States supplied additional financial and military aid. About $8.6 million, or 63 percent, of the funds supplied by pro-Israel groups as federal campaign contributions in the 2008 election cycle went to Democrats, and about 37 percent to Republicans. It's no wonder Obama actually increased the amount of money given to Israel annually. It would be political suicide for a congressman to not go against lobby groups that have so much money. There is more on how much donation each politician has received on the opensecrets.org site. Naturally, each of these politicians support those who help them to stay in power.
  5. So then you agree that Israel receives $3 billion a year in welfare payment because it cannot pay for itself?
  6. Weren't Hamas democratically elected? The infighting between Hamas and Fatah is a different topic. You said Hamas shot itself to power, when the truth is that Hamas came to power after it was democratically elected.
  7. I would disagree. Most of the countries accept the 1967 border. They want to destroy the illegal and brutal occupation. But it is the fault of Israel that many countries and many people around the world despise their occupation and the growing settlements.
  8. So Israel cannot afford to pay to feed its jets? If you couldn't pay for your food and received money from the government to support you, wouldn't that be called welfare?
  9. I thought Hamas was democratically elected and the elections were monitored internationally and found to have been done properly.
  10. You said U.S. benefits in technology by giving Israel $3 billion a year. I ask how and you send me to a videos of Iron Dome. Maybe you can help American Woman out and tell me how U.S. benefits from giving Israel $3 billion a year without giving me a vague Foxnews and Friends slogan: "a strong democratic ally in the Middle East".
  11. You're repeatedly being vague. I'm wondering how a so-called democratic country benefit the U.S.? Israel cannot be democratic without the $3 billion a year in welfare cheques?
  12. $3 billion a year for technology? What kind of technology is worth $3 billion a year?
  13. They see suicide attacks as a weapons just like you see jets, helicopters and tanks as weapons. No different. Israel has killed Palestinian civilians. Many more Palestinian civilians than Hamas or any other Palestinian group has killed Israeli civilians. When a boy is shot in the stomach by an Israeli gun, then a person is dead. No amount of talk can justify the killing. The rockets are usually fired as a response to Israel's actions. The same pattern is evident in the latest escalation. THURSDAY, 8 NOVEMBER Following a two-week lull in violence, Israeli soldiers invade Gaza. In the resulting exchange of gunfire with Palestinian fighters, a twelve year-old boy is killed by an Israeli bullet while he plays soccer. Shortly afterwards, Palestinian fighters blow up a tunnel along the Gaza-Israel frontier, injuring one Israeli soldier. SATURDAY, 10 NOVEMBER An anti-tank missile fired by Palestinian fighters wounds four Israeli soldiers driving in a jeep along the Israel-Gaza boundary. An Israeli artillery shell lands in a soccer field in Gaza killing two children, aged sixteen and seventeen. Later, an Israeli tank fires a shell at a tent where mourners are gathered for a funeral, killing two more civilians and wounding more than two dozen others. SUNDAY, 11 NOVEMBER One Palestinian civilian is killed and dozens more are wounded in Israeli attacks. Four Israeli civilians are also injured as a result of projectiles launched from Gaza, according to the Israeli government. During an Israeli government cabinet meeting, Transportation Minister Yisrael Katz urges the government to “cut off the head of the snake… take out the leadership of Hamas in Gaza.” He also calls for a cutting off of water, food, electricity, and fuel shipments to Gaza’s 1.7 million people. MONDAY, 12 NOVEMBER Palestinian militant factions agree to a truce if Israel ends its attacks. WEDNESDAY, 14 NOVEMBER Israel breaks two days of calm by assassinating Ahmed Jabari, the head of Hamas' military wing. According to reports, at least eight other Palestinians are killed in Israeli attacks, including at least two children. Palestinian militant groups vow to respond. Link Israel is not surrounded by a military. Its waters are not controlled by a foreign force. There is freedom of movement in and out of Israel. There is no blockade by a foreign power on what goes in and out of Israel. There isn't assassinations or attempts at assassination of its government on a regular basis. Think about that the next time you try to question a people who try to defend their rights.
  14. How does U.S. benefit from Israel?
  15. I would never deliberately kill civilians. If my land was being carpet bombed and my people were being killed and I had access to rockets, I would fire them at their direction. It would be an act of desperation as there is nothing else that could be done.
  16. The U.S. is giving over $3 billion a year to Israel and Israel is not going to be paying this back to the U.S. Israel is in fact U.S' biggest welfare recipient.
  17. I do not agree with Hamas' past actions of suicide attacks but I have a hard time criticizing Hamas for responding to Israel's aggression. If a foreign military did what Israel does to my home, I would defend my home and family with any means.
  18. You are a desperate man. The Stern Gang and Lehi Group ATTACKED the allied forces. They killed many British soldiers. They collaborated with Italy and 'wished' they could collaborate with Germany. Why did they do this? Because of self-interest. Because of their goal to take over Palestine. Why did al-Hajj collaborate with the Nazis? Because of self-interest. Because of his goal to take over Palestine and prevent more Jews to move into Palestine. Does it matter to you that the Arabs including many Palestinians fought alongside the British in the world war? No. Why? Because of your self-interest. Because you are purposely being selective with your version of history. Because you want to convince people that the Palestinians are an extension of the Nazis so that people do not feel empathy towards their plight against Israel's brutal occupation.
  19. No they cannot. One is the occupier and oppressor, while the other is defending the occupied and oppressed.
  20. How can they be compared when one group is armed to the teeth with the latest gadgets and the other has mostly old weapons and homemade rockets?
  21. They made deals with them of course. Do you also want proof that these two former Israeli prime ministers were the head of terrorist organizations which killed the British and Palestinians?
  22. I'm not going to look beyond Wikipedia, but this historical fact is repeated frequently in respected historical books such as my favourite, "The Righteous Victims" by Benny Morris. Until World War II the group armed itself with weapons purchased in Europe, primarily Italy and Poland, and smuggled to Palestine. The Irgun also established workshops that manufactured spare parts and attachments for the weapons. Also manufactured were land mines and simple hand grenades. Another way in which the Irgun armed itself was theft of weapons from the British police and military.
  23. And Mr. Begin (Irgun - terrorist group) and Mr. Shamir (Lehi - terrorist group) went on to become Israeli prime ministers.
  24. Look: The Stern Gang and Lehi Group ATTACKED the allied forces. Because you want to convince people that the Palestinians are an extension of the Nazis so that people do not feel empathy towards their plight against Israel's brutal occupation.
  25. So tell me again DogOnPorch, are you going to apply the same standard and hold Israel's feet to the fire for its past involvement in collaboration with the axis and their attacks on the British and the Allied supply routes?
