Surprise! Israel refuses cooperation with UN Gaza war probe
Hudson Jones replied to marcus's topic in The Rest of the World
Oh and.. Israel ALREADY exists. A Palestinian State does not and the land that supposed to belong them is being annexed by Israel. WHY do you have such a hard time discussing the extremely large gorilla in the room - Lack of a Palestinian State and the theft of Palestinian land by Israel?- 293 replies

Surprise! Israel refuses cooperation with UN Gaza war probe
Hudson Jones replied to marcus's topic in The Rest of the World
Oh yes: "The State of Israel would like to open meaningful and binding peace negotiations".. If you want to use that as a debating point, then you are extremely ignorant and need to first educate yourself, or you are purposely trying to push a false narrative.- 293 replies

Does Israel have a right to exist?

Therefore, a group of people cannot come and kick another group of people out claiming special connection to the land. Eh? -
Does Israel have a right to exist?
Hudson Jones replied to overthere's topic in The Rest of the World
Most Ashkenazis, Italians, North Africans, Iraqi, Iranian, Kurdish and Yemenite Jews share common Y-DNA haplotypes that are also found among many Arabs from Palestine, Lebanon and Syria. There is no "special" connection. -
Surprise! Israel refuses cooperation with UN Gaza war probe
Hudson Jones replied to marcus's topic in The Rest of the World
So what if they don't accept Israel as a state? Israel exists. Any time someone mentions anything about Israel's theft and annexation of land that belongs to the Palestinians, there is the automatic response of "OMG YOU DON'T ACCEPT ISRAEL!!!" from the Zionist crowd. There is a difference between Israel's legal borders and the land that they are annexing. Why are you so worried about the existence of a country that already exists but fail to recognize that Israel is stealing land from the Palestinians who don't have a state and have a right to have a nation as well?- 293 replies

The only time Rue stops giving his opinion, is when he's posting opinions of the Hasbara industry... oh and comments by the Saudi King Abdullah! George Bush listened to AIPAC in regards to Iran by not engaging and negotiating. Exactly what Rue and the Hasbara industry and all his opinion pieces continue to demand. The result? Iran ended up tripling the number of centrifuges. This is proof that Iran can be approached in two ways: Either negotiate with them or start a bloody war. Since Israel does not have the power to do this by itself, it would need the U.S. to get involved. That's not going to happen. The U.S., no matter how much pressure it receives from AIPAC and its prostitutes in congress and senate, it is sober enough to know that an attack on Iran would be multiple times worse than what happened in Iraq. In an ideal world, my approach to a nuclear bomb free Iran would start with pressuring Israel to join the NPT and forcing Israel to disarm and get rid of its nuclear weapons. Some don't like the fair approach and instead prefer the unfair, unjust and bully approach, but hey, call me an idealist. Since Israel will not accept to be treated like everyone else, then there is no way Iran would accept to give up its option to make its own nuclear bomb deterrence.

Yes. Me, as one of the characters who you have brilliantly outed, also appreciates your informative, clear, honest and friendly communications on this board. Thank you for setting the record straight in regards to Israel's good terrorists and their difference with the other terrorists. Thanks Rue!- 293 replies

I'm not missing the point. Perhaps I will explain what I mean: They fled after the revolution because a religious, anti-Western regime was coming to power. Many people escaped Iran. Mostly secular, Shah-friendly and Western friendly people. Many of those were Jewish. As the article explains, things are different now, vs the 1980's, after the revolution. They've improved even more under the most recent government. Since the revolution, something like 19 Jews have been killed. Even 1 person being killed is too many, however, relatively speaking, 19 Jews killed in 35 years does not show that the government of Iran has something against Jews or their religion. The only suspicion is against those who have been charged (whether correctly or incorrectly - I don't know) with spying for Israel. This paranoia is understandable. Israel is the enemy for understandable reasons. They continuously talk about attacking Iran and they've engaged in assassinating their scientists. You have allowed the narrative of the Hasbara to control what you think and say. You have repeatedly commented in how Muslims or Iran want to kill Jews, when reality says otherwise. First, you were given the example of over 1 million Muslims inside Israel, who are not killing Jews and now we are having a discussion about how Jews in Iran are free to practice their religion, be part of society and to also be part of the government.
-
Okay then. Thanks for bringing in your pom pom's into the discussion. Sorry Iran! No Canada Free Trade deal for YOU!

Sharkman plays these games of deceit often. Marcus showed that Jews are safe in Iran while he and a few others are claiming that Iran wants to kill Jews, and now he's trying to change the subject and accuse him of lying because he posted some statistic from 2009. Here is a recent article which talks about Iranian Jews under the current government of Iran: Under Rohani, Iranian Jews find greater acceptance Iran, a home for Jews for more than 3,000 years, has the Middle East's largest Jewish population outside of Israel, a perennial foe of the country. More than a thousand people trekked across Iran this past week to visit a shrine in this ancient Persian city, a pilgrimage like many others in the Islamic Republic — until you notice men there wearing yarmulkes. "The government has listened to our grievances and requests. That we are being consulted is an important step forward," said Homayoun Samiah, leader of the Tehran Jewish Association. "Under former President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, nobody was listening to us. Our requests fell on deaf ears." Most of Iran's 77 million people are Shiite Muslims and its ruling establishment is led by hard-line clerics who preach a strict version of Islam. Many Jews fled the country after the 1979 Islamic Revolution. Jews linked to Israel afterward were targeted. Today, estimates suggest some 20,000 Jews remain in the country.

Surprise! Israel refuses cooperation with UN Gaza war probe
Hudson Jones replied to marcus's topic in The Rest of the World
If I may: First of all, Fatah is not a terrorist group and they have officially accepted Israel as a State since the late 80's. Hamas only came to power in the past decade. Second; Israel has had two past prime ministers who were leaders of officially recognized terrorist organizations: Menachem Begin who was the leader of the terrorist organization Irgun, and Yitzhak Shamir, who was the leader of the terrorist group, Lehi. Does this mean that you're against the formation of the State of Israel because these two people became its prime minister? Because these terrorist groups dissolved into the Israeli government and military after its formation?- 293 replies

I think the conservatives in Iran are not as eager to derail the talks as the conservatives in the U.S. The conservatives in Iran are feeling the pinch of the sanctions as they have a lot of hand in businesses that would benefit from the sanctions being lifted. Whereas the republicans in the U.S. (and many democrats) are the yes-men of AIPAC/Israel. They will continue to try to derail the talks. Now that they have a majority, it's a chance for them put a little more push behind sabotaging peace.

Hey, Skipper. Just in case if you cared about meanings: It's interesting how, instead of speaking out against Captain Israel, Rue is too busy giggling because someone likes his posts. It looks like Rue is okay with Captain Israel's declaration to ethnically cleanse Palestinians.

I gave you an answer in the same quote that you replied, but you seem to have issues reading: Any bad idea, especially harmful ones like Zionism, Wahabism, Fascism, etc. should be talked about, rejected and anyone who practices it should be called out. Educating the masses is part of the process of rejecting it and wiping it out. Rejection to Zionism is already happening. The BDS movement is one of the tools, working in conjunction with other methods and tools in rejecting Zionism. Once it is no longer sustainable for Israel to continue what it is doing, and people outside of Israel can no longer defend a racist, inhumane ideology, then it will slowly fade and they will be forced to change.- 293 replies

I don't care if you only asked the third question. I am giving you an example of what a harmful ideology is and why asking to wipe out a bad ideology does not equate to killing people. Because you don't seem to get it or want to, once again, play the victim by trying to change the meaning of what someone is saying. Any bad idea, especially harmful ones like Zionism, Wahabism, Fascism, etc. should be talked about, rejected and anyone who practices it should be called out. Educating the masses is part of the process of rejecting it and wiping it out. Rejection to Zionism is already happening. Once it is no longer sustainable for Israel to continue what it is doing, and people outside of Israel can no longer defend a racist, inhumane ideology, then it will slowly fade and they will be forced to change. What I see in the future, is one day you will see isolated marches by small groups of Zionists in the streets like you see with the KKK or Nazis. But the thought of a country practicing it, will never happen again.- 293 replies

I do give credit and know that many on here realize the false narratives. However, it's also important to call these people on it and to make sure that we don't allow misinformation to drown out the truth.- 293 replies

Never have I said (or meant) that Zionists, Jews, Arabs, Muslims, etc. should be wiped out when I have said that Zionism and Wahabism, which are ideologies, should be wiped out. Stop crying about things that don't exist.- 293 replies

No Captain Canada. You need to stop it. You are once again spreading misinformation and I have to use my time correcting you. Not because you will change your mind and will pick facts over fiction, but because I hate to see others reading lies. Hamas had not fired any rocket attacks for quite some time before Israel unleashed its military. The rocket attacks started after Israel started arresting Hamas officials blaming the kidnapping and killing of Jewish settler teens on Hamas. Even though Hamas denied its involvement. It was discovered that Israel knew the people who did the killings did it without the knowledge of Hamas leadership. Once the Israeli military started going door to door and arresting over 80 Hamas people, they obviously provoked Hamas and that is when Hamas started retaliating with rockets. It's important to not get carried away and started cheering for a team and to actually make an effort to stick to the facts. Here is a timeline of the events, if you actually care to know. Here is information how Hamas leadership had no knowledge and did not sanction the kidnappings and killings of the Jewish settler teens. But the documents, related to an investigation and indictment of the man suspected of leading the kidnappers, provide no evidence that the top leaders of Hamas directed or had prior knowledge of the plot to abduct the three Israeli youths. If you want to know about this false story about how Hamas started this, read this article. Here is part of it:- 293 replies

You either don't know the facts or you are purposely whitewashing how over 700,000 Palestinians became refugees. Some Palestinians were physically removed from their towns and villages by Jewish militias and Israeli military. Some fled, because they were being attacked and killed and some fled because they heard stories of massacres in neighbouring villages, like the Deir Yassin massacre where over 100 people were slaughtered. It's also important to know and not lose sight of what the law says about the refugees, without allowing irresponsible rhetoric, like "they lost the war!" or "they left on their own so they don't deserve it!" UN General Assembly Resolution 194, passed on 11 December 1948 and reaffirmed every year since, was the first resolution that called for Israel to let the refugees return: the refugees wishing to return to their homes and live at peace with their neighbours should be permitted to do so at the earliest practicable date, and that compensation should be paid for the property of those choosing not to return and for loss of or damage to property which, under principles of international law or in equity, should be made good by the Governments or authorities responsible.

Surprise! Israel refuses cooperation with UN Gaza war probe
Hudson Jones replied to marcus's topic in The Rest of the World
Some good news: In signal that Jerusalem is not opposed to cooperating with international investigative bodies it believes are professional and impartial, Jerusalem agreed on Thursday to cooperate with a UN probe investigating both attacks on UNRWA facilities during this summer's military operation in Gaza and Hamas' use of those facilities to store weapons. The decision to cooperate with the “board of inquiry” established by UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon stands in stark contrast to Jerusalem's decision not to cooperate with a UN Human Rights Council investigative committee set up to investigate what the Palestinians allege were Israeli war crimes during Operation Protective Edge.- 293 replies

Posted by Rabbi Marc Gopin: This holy book has circulated as the main picture for the massacre at the synagogue in Jerusalem. I wanted to study the books that they died with. So I enlarged it, inverted it, and discovered that the book was dedicated to the loving memory of several people, and then it had this inscription, which seems very much worth thinking about: "They practiced compassion and faithfulness and charity all the days of their lives". Good words to live for in any civilization. I wanted to rescue the words from the blood. For shed blood is here and gone, but good holy words endure forever. חסד אמת וצדקה גמלו כל ימי חייהם
