Freedom of Speach Long Gone - COVID
TreeBeard replied to cougar's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Hate speech is a legal term in Canada. Can you show us any case law where mis-gendering someone was considered hate speech? They don’t even need to be found guilty…. Can you even show where anyone was prosecuted for that? -
You consider scientists working for Pfizer and Moderna to be akin to Nazi scientists experimenting on Jews?

You think the world is controlled by Satan, and yet you think it’s a periphery issue? Shouldn’t that be the most important issue ever? Of course! Everyone has beliefs. What about the causes of disease? Certainly the bible doesn’t say anything about germs causing disease. It mentions disease being the results of sin. But we now know, through the same scientific method as we know about evolution, that diseases are caused by germs. Why, if Satan was controlling science, would he have given us germ theory…. Should we be thanking Satan for that? Thanks you Satan for saving countless millions of lives and alleviating suffering by allowing us to discover Germ Theory. Couldn’t the same thing be said of people who believe the bible to be true?

Or could it be that the general public has different values than yourself? A resistance to whom? (Texas’ growth rate hasn’t changed much the last few years)

There are still restrictions. Do you think we can look at examples of what happens when restrictions are lifted too quickly? Alberta/Sask lifted restrictions quicker than most and hospitals are very close to being overwhelmed. The Conservative Health Minister became teary-eyed about the situation in Sask. Do you think the general public supports the restrictions that are in place?
-
Who has ever suggested that restrictions need to carry on forever? Please be specific.
-
Definitely before. Thanks for asking and not assuming this time.

Yes, I am sure. Are you sure that hyperbole is the best way to get your point across? Do you ever worry that it can sound a bit…. Paranoid?
-
Denied healthcare - where did I say the unvaccinated should be denied healthcare? Forcing medical procedures - Who is doing this and where is it being done? Yes.
-
No, I don’t think it can happen. In fact, I question the mental stability of those who do think it can happen. Where did I say that any sacrifice is wonderful? Is this more hyperbole? See point #1 above.
-
The Nazis co-opted Christmas too… Should we stop celebrating that evil Nazi holiday?
-
Does anyone else find this to be a bit hyperbolic, or is it just me?
-
We’re all in this together, right?

Those are two possible narratives. Could another narrative be that people in Canada are willing to sacrifice freedoms for a time for the greater good and that the government doesn’t challenge the dominant international narrative because there is no evidence that this narrative is incorrect?

What did I cherry pick exactly?

Would you prefer to get your data from peer reviewed science or a Youtube guy?

We were talking about the UK… International pressure from whom? Why would they bow to international pressure based on how full their hospitals are? I agree…. Canada has been more precautions than the UK. Canada has a third the fatality rate. Could it be that the majority of people in Canada see the benefit in keeping the death rate lower? UK - 208 deaths per 100k people Canada - 76 deaths per 100k people

Maybe a better question would be “how do you know what to take in the bible literally and what not to”? You take Genesis literally. Do you take literally that you shouldn’t work on the Sabbath and those who do should be put to death? If you don’t take this literally, why not? Exodus 31:15 Six days may work be done; but in the seventh is the sabbath of rest, holy to the LORD: whosoever doeth any work in the sabbath day, he shall surely be put to death.
-
International pressure from whom exactly? Why would they bow to international pressure when their hospitals are overloaded, but not before? Could it be that the hospitals being overloaded is the actual criteria?
-
No, not really. I know how to find it…. It infests the internet and is really easy to find. I asked why I should believe it….
-
Hmmm…. Didn’t the Health Minister say today that there could be COVID passports and further restrictions, like mandatory masks, if their National Health Service couldn’t keep up with any increase in caseload? Sounds like most places in Canada, no? Maybe a bit less precautionary?

Where did I deny anything about VAERS data? You seem to have me confused with someone else. I believe everything the CDC says about their VAERS and the figures they provide.
