Plugging My Nose and Watching Canadian News Today

Where is this “climate change” money coming from? Oil companies are the wealthiest corporations on the planet. 5 of them in the top 20. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_largest_companies_by_revenue So, by your logic, wouldn’t that mean the science should be pro-oil, if it is only about money? Do you think there was a gravity lobby too? And once the alternative gravity theory people can get some coin together, we’ll all be told a different theory? -

So strong upstanding women? Hmmm…. Are you just saying that because they’re on the outs with the Liberal Party? -

You’re referring to female MPs as “bitches”? Do you think that furthers the conversation at all? -

Prospects in Canadian federal politics
TreeBeard replied to myata's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
If the vast majority of Canadians hold a different opinion than you, could it possibly be you that has the issue? Is it just a small percentage of the people who know the real truth and the rest are just “loonies” and sheep? -
Why Canadians re-elected a Liberal government?

I’ve never heard of the Syrian refugee violence issue. Do you have any information on it? Some stats that show Syrian refugees tend to be more violent? -

I didn’t say that the tax has no effect. I am simply quoting what someone who has studied this is saying…. That Canada’s situation of the current inflation is not unique at all. It seems to be happening all over N. America and Europe. However, your situation of 20% increase to groceries in 6 months does seem very unique and not the norm. Do you have anything that isn’t anecdotal to your household and might be across your whole province? -

So we should take the worst case scenarios? But the worst case scenario, like where you live, is not reflective of the whole. Why do you think your grocery bill has increased so much more than the national average? Should your experience be applied to the country as a whole to show what’s happening? -

So because the media believes the scientific consensus regarding climate change, you think they can’t be trusted? Do you think the same way over the media belief that the world is an oblate sphere and not flat? Do you believe the scientific consensus on the shape of the Earth? -
Was the vaccine the cause of his stroke? Has that been determined?
-
No, not at all. For the vast majority of the population, what do you think…? Vaccine is riskier for your health than getting COVID?

So where do I find these “real numbers”? Because, from what I have seen, the people who study the topic are using numbers published by places like Stats Canada. Why do you think these experts are using the fake numbers and not the real ones? -

Isn’t that more of a capitalist trait? Competition to earn the most, and that sort of thing? But, what does envy have to do with the price of food? -

Maybe we have different definitions of “looney”. I would think the term looney tends to refer to someone who can’t use logic and reason to form their opinions. It was stated that 2/3 Canadians are “looney”. Do you think that’s a fair generalization? Or are you defining “looney” as anyone who is not of your political stripe? In that case, I would agree with you…. 2/3 Canadians are not of your political stripe, and are thus “looney” as you define it. -

Why is it surprising then that more of the media would tend towards the general population? Why would they cater to people who are a small demographic of the Canadian population? Edited to add further: Why would they change who they are to appease a portion of the population of a different political bent? -

Could it be that she was interrupting one and not the other because they weren’t actually answering the question being asked? I find one of the marks of a good interviewer to be not allowing the interviewee stray from the question and obfuscate. -

Why do you think your figure of 20% in 6 months is so much higher than Stats Canada figures? https://financialpost.com/executive/executive-summary/posthaste-no-youre-not-imagining-it-food-prices-are-rising-and-theyre-set-to-go-even-higher According to the article, this is also the case in the USA and Europe as well. Do you still think the Liberals and the carbon tax are to blame for the increased food costs? Why do you think your reasons for the increase are so different than the ones cited by people who study the topic? -

Racist epithets of the past are becoming less palatable to the general public and companies/sports franchises are realizing that it is costing them money. Why is that wrong? -
Do you think different regions have different tastes? Should we all have a taste for Belgian beers because you like them best? I have never heard of any store in Canada selling only Canadian beer, never mind only Belgian beer.

Do you hold to this same point of view, that everything must be absolutely equal between the biological sexes, in other topics as well?
