I didn’t say that the tax has no effect. I am simply quoting what someone who has studied this is saying…. That Canada’s situation of the current inflation is not unique at all. It seems to be happening all over N. America and Europe. However, your situation of 20% increase to groceries in 6 months does seem very unique and not the norm. Do you have anything that isn’t anecdotal to your household and might be across your whole province?

Why do you think your grocery bill has increased so much more than the national average? Should your experience be applied to the country as a whole to show what’s happening?

So where do I find these “real numbers”? Because, from what I have seen, the people who study the topic are using numbers published by places like Stats Canada. Why do you think these experts are using the fake numbers and not the real ones?

Maybe we have different definitions of “looney”. I would think the term looney tends to refer to someone who can’t use logic and reason to form their opinions. It was stated that 2/3 Canadians are “looney”. Do you think that’s a fair generalization? Or are you defining “looney” as anyone who is not of your political stripe? In that case, I would agree with you…. 2/3 Canadians are not of your political stripe, and are thus “looney” as you define it.

Why is it surprising then that more of the media would tend towards the general population? Why would they cater to people who are a small demographic of the Canadian population? Edited to add further: Why would they change who they are to appease a portion of the population of a different political bent?

Could it be that she was interrupting one and not the other because they weren’t actually answering the question being asked? I find one of the marks of a good interviewer to be not allowing the interviewee stray from the question and obfuscate.

Racist epithets of the past are becoming less palatable to the general public and companies/sports franchises are realizing that it is costing them money. Why is that wrong?
