It is Canada’s problem if Canadian laws are discriminating against someone. The Supreme Court never had the option to say “not our problem “. Canada could have changed the law in such a way that no one is married. But Canada has deemed it in its best interest to have legal marriages.

If someone steals my blood, and they stop at nothing to get it, it’s your contention that I am not allowed to defend myself? What if nothing short of killing them will make them stop? That’s not very “stand your ground” of you…

In Canada, the legal definition of marriage has nothing to do with religion. In fact, I put no stock in a religion governing my private life. If your argument is one of biblical tradition, then I suppose you accept marriage as one man and wives?

What if 2 people just decide to divorce and it’s not harmful or destructive? Clearly, the bible is against this sort of divorce, so should it be illegal?

I know you didn’t mention divorce or women voting. Because those are progressive values you like, but, in the case of divorce, are against biblical teachings that used to be laws in Canada as well.

Does there need to be a rape or incest conviction before the abortion is allowed to happen? Does anyone think a rape conviction could happen within a few short weeks? The kid will be 2 years old by the time the trial is over. If a conviction isn’t necessary, and the woman’s word is enough, is she then guilty of murder if the rapist gets away with it and isn’t convicted?
